I recently noticed that my pic's are all only 2.8-2,4 MP, while my setting is for 9.1 MP. My S7 was in the 6.+ MP range, so what is happening here ???
I have used stock and modded camera - all the same.

Can't get screen shot to attach.
Camera settings - picture size 16:9 (9.1 MP)
Well that's 16.9 ratio mp
---------- Post added at 09:30 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:26 PM ----------
I use 4:3 so that's the full 12mp..
Think 4:3 if your pc is no wide-screen and you also want to print the pics is better.
If you see your pics on on tvs and won't be printing them then 16.9 is better

I know, but prefer 16:9.
But the problem is it's supposed to be 9.1 MP and not just 3-4.

The size of the image dimensions (Megapixels) has nothing to do with the size of the image file (Megabytes).
Take a 12MP photo with your S9 and check the resolution, it should be 4032x3024.
The pictures from your S7 might have been a less compressed JPG and that's why its jpgs has a bigger file size.
Means you've set the pic size incorrectly as below

I found this professional camera app, which has so much options. You can manually set the exposure time, up to 60 seconds! Also ISO is adjustable.
Downside is that it doesn't support our physical camera key. I tested this app on ICS.

i used to use this app, can not change ISO -,-
It'll be great if we can change ISO on Neo/V. I believe high ISO setting is one downside of this camera.
the stock camera is the best camera, do you think so ?
Can you post some pictures taken by this camera with the vatious settings so we can see the quality and versatility of the camera?
Thanks

I wasn't able to spot any differences myself, only that when I changed the ISO settings and shutter time this app could picture shapes in a dark room, where the stock app just makes an all black picture. But if you want to try it yourself, you know how it works on Android...

OMG i started to think i am just plain stupid but now I see you can't change iso too, then this app sucks, nothing much without iso.
Neo V also, other then that its great app...

If you turn flash on in the stock app you can get a near perfect pic in the dark on the stock app. The flash on the Neo is seriously powerful.
really good app...thnx
Hi guys,
After update my battery is drained more speedy then before, and also I found another one problem. On all my camera applications I can choose in settings a maximum 5M pixel photos setting. Do someone have the same problems?
(Only in stock application I can set resolution of pictures on max 3264x2248)

Hi all
I'm looking for a camera app better than the one that is installed from sony.
I know that sony did not implement the camera 2 api but the pictures taken with their camera app appears blur, washed, and in general poor quality.
So I'm waiting for your experience...:fingers-crossed:
Thanks
François
I've tried a few Camera apps, but I don't think I've found one that gives better result.
As far as I'm concerned the picture quality is okay, just make sure to keep your hands steady and wait for a few seconds because this phone does have shutter lag.
If you want to shoot faster, as long as you're in good lighting condition, use the Manual mode, choose Sports scene, that'll shorten the shutter lag a little.

There is NOTHING wrong with the camera or the default software.
Quality is great, you just have to know how to use a camera, use of iso, shutter speed, etc...
I think image quality is great and I'm quite happy to post several shots should you wish.

Hi
I can confirm that FreeDcam (special build made by defcomg) allows the Xperia C5 ultra dual (E5533) to shoot in raw and save pictures as dng. Those dng pictures can be processed with Lightroom, Rawtherapee or Photoshop to get the best of the raw picture. :victory:
Here is the link of FreeDcam thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/camera-freedcam-4-0-3-t3115548
and see from post #37 on page 4. The right released apk is linked on post #57 in page 6. Some minors problems stays there but overall job is well done.
Thanks to defcomg for his quick job and the quality of the result.:good:
François
Should you know how to take pictures, the C5 Ultra is a very capable camera and takes excellent pictures. Here are several recent ones taken:

The title pretty much says it all but I've been having issues with Messenger resizing photos in MMS messages to about ~70-80 kb and 360x640. Using LG's app is slightly better. It keeps the same resolution but lowers the file size to about 500 kb (even with adjusting the settings to keep the original picture quality).

MMS and hangouts both have their restrictions and will downsize/compress files that are too large to send. It's like emails but they won't send if the file size is too large.
I think it's referred to as 'content adaptation'
Send links for your large files through Google drive, box, mega, Dropbox, or whatever free cloud service you prefer.

I understand a little bit of compression but going from 1440x2560 and 2MB down to 360x640 and 70 KB is a bit drastic wouldn't you think?

I guess so but not for web resolution and viewing on a mobile device.
With an unlimited data plan I guess I don't consider it much. If I had a limited data plan then it would be a different story.

So that screenshot said that it's the receiving phone that adjusts the size. The problem is that it's my phone sending the images that is the problem.
You're beautiful and everyone knows it. That's why you take selfies. Rate this thread to express how the front-facing camera of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 performs. A higher rating indicates that the front camera produces fantastic results consistently.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
Selfie camera just average
I'm ok with the quality of the camera, what I cant stand is that the pictures are mirrored, and cant figure out how to disable that anywhere on the phone. I already opened a Q/A thread but it has been completely ignored. Am I the only one facing this issue?

Hmm I checked on my phone and found the option, although it doesn't say anything related to mirroring.
This is clearly a translation error on behalf of xiaomi, as my phone has Spanish set as language.
When I get home I will upload screenshots of what it shows for reference.
Still, thank you very much!

Basically it says
1st image: front camera
2nd image: when face detected; activated; deactivated.
Edit: I had to choose deactivated otherwise it will mirror the picture apparently, maybe later I'll test "when face is detected" option

Just a translation error. You should select activated if u want it to mirror the image captured.
