Problems unlocking - Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 / 5 Plus Questions & Answers

I've got a Note 5 for my sister and need to unlock it and root it before I give it to her. I created a Mi account for her and put my SIM in her phone to bind it to her account as I don't have her SIM, which is fine but the Mi Unlock program said "Couldn't unlock. After 720 hours of trying to unlock the device". Clearly this doesn't make any sense and they meant "Try again after 720 hours" but why on earth would they make me wait a month (now 532 hours) before I can unlock the phone and prepare it? It's damn annoying!
I have another Mi account I created to unlock my Note 4, so I tried using that account in Mi Unlock but then it just said "Can't unlock. Your account isn't associated with a phone number". It must have been when I unlocked my Note 4, so maybe binding my number with my sister's account has unbound it from my own one. I thought of binding it back to my account and then trying that again in Mi Unlock to unlock the Note 5 but when I try (on my phone) it says I need to verify my account with a code it's e-mailed me but that e-mail never comes through.
So is there anything I can do other than wait another 22 days whilst my sister keeps asking me she can't have her new phone yet?

htc hero doesn't request the 8 digit SIM unlock code

Hi guys, after i purchased a code for my htc hero, and i inserted the foreign key, but there was nothing poping up to notify me to enter the 8 digit network unlocking,
i tried around 8 different custom roms but all are the same ..
what should i do to get the unlock code screen ?
thanks in advance
Not too sure if i understand your question correctly or not, but if its the code to unlock it to "another or all" networks, on the default stock sense ROM when it shows you the screen saying "no service" you slide either the top down or the bottom up to be presented with the keypad to unlock the device to which ever network you bought an unlock code for. Pretty sure it would be the same for other ROMS
Hope that made sense and i understood the question right
Well, when i start up the phone it shows " No service or Emergency Calls" and it allows me to drag it down only to be able to use the phone normally, but my question was : when i insert a foreign simcard ,the phone must prompt me to unlock the specific network with the code you purchased that contains 8 digits.
my problem is i don't get this prompt screen never!

[Q] "no sim" error on my other carrier, currently overseas can't make calls.

[Q] "no sim" error on my other carrier, currently overseas can't make calls.
Hello everyone,
Long time reader first time poster because I have searched for the past 2 days to solve my problem but it is kind of an emergency at this point.
I am currently overseas, last year I was here I was running stock GB and unlocked the simlock by contacting AT&T and getting a code. This year I am upgraded to stock JB but I get a no sim error with my overseas carrier and the phone doesn't ask for code at all. I tried putting in the ATT sim again and that works but can't use it here because its too expensive. I have tried other people's sim cards (total of 3) all of them get no sim error. This tells me the sim lock is still on there but I can't do much since it doesn't ask me for code.
I have also flashed siyah kernel and paranoid rom since coming overseas still no luck. This was mainly because stock JB was horrible.
I tried galaxy s unlock app but won't see my internet connection, I am not sure if it would be able to solve my problem anyway. I can't try the paid version of sim unlock because I can't get it charged to my ATT bill. I heard there is a free version but couldn't find it after searching for hours, seems as the developer wants this to be paid anyway.
I tried choosing multiple carriers under network settings but no luck.
I am sorry if I missed something obvious. Seems like Kies\ATT messed up something while upgrading me to JB
I have contacted ATT to ask if their JB upgrade locking sim is a known problem but all I got was a "are you sure you did it right". I have an unlock code from ATT though, just can't use it because the phone doesn't ask for the code, just says "no sim, emergency calls only"
I have flashed different modems just to see if that would help, nope
I have searched and read every similar thread, I would search more but I really need to solve this quick. Sorry if I missed any details first time posting.
Thanks in advance.
Don't know if this will help since I haven't tried it, but I found this. Maybe this will allow you to enter the unlock code?:
If your Samsung is not asking for an unlock code and it only reads “Network Locked. Emergency calls only” or “Insert correct SIM card” you can use one of these two formulas:
#0111*UNLOCKCODE#
#7465625*638*UNLOCKCODE#
hmm both of them gave me mobile network available error, weird I would guess it wouldn't check for that.
,just to make sure , I just enter these on the keypad and press call right ?
With that type of code, you don't have to press call. If it is supposed to call up a menu or dialog, it will do so when the last digit is entered. If the phone does nothing when the last digit of the code is entered, then it is probably a code that is not recognized by the phone. So I guess those codes don't work for the SGH-I777. I don't know if this is dependent on firmware. I do know that unlock doesn't work the same on Jelly Bean. I've read the unlock methods don't work. See here. I guess you could flash ICS stock plus root and then use one of these.
or... can you call or chat with an AT&T tech support to ask how to apply the code in your situation?
I found a list of a lot of codes, tried some of the ones related to network lock, one of them asked for password, i entered it and it said unlock successful yet still not working. I just rooted to stock gingerbread still no sim error yet ATT worked and sent me a text for international rates.
I just don't know what happened whist upgrading to JB.
I have a similar problem where my unlock code that used to work no longer works. Just out of curiosity, does the Serial # shown by GalaxSimUnlock app match the one listed physically under your battery? I'm not aware of how to check for the serial number other than that app. On mine, I noticed it got zero'ed out, and if my hunch is correct, I think the unlock code recognized by the phone is based on that serial number (among other things), so the one supplied by AT&T won't work anymore. I'll have to get a new number based on that zeroed out serial number or change my serial number somehow.
Sorry I flashed another rom already but I will try to reinstall everything and check later today. Idk if the app works with gingerbread, it should.
Yes, it works with Gingerbread as I was able to use it. I was hoping that if I restored to Gingerbread, my serial number would come back. But no dice. I'm really curious to see what your serial number is.
just tried to check but the app keeps crashing on mine. I tried with anothe unlock app i got undefined under serial.

[HELP] Bypass PIN's phone lock and recover Google's account WITHOUT Wifi/Mobile datas

Hello friends,
Finding no solutions on the Web and on XDA, I need to ask you one thing :
A really close friend of mine passed away on july 13th after a damn f*cking brutal and quick heartattack. (He did'nt have time to take his phone to call emergencies) :'(
His family tried to unlock his phone to call some of his friends, to get some contacts , recover photos, etc... but unfortunately they could'nt unlock his phone because of a security PIN lock.
I know his SIM Pin code, so I could unlock the SIM to answer his phonecalls.
I know all of his passwords (Google, Gmail, etc...).
The problem is that I couldn't bypass the screen lock and recover thru Google's Account Recovery because he cuts WIFI & MOBILE DATAS (he follows my advice to save battery ).
I tried to bypass using the Quicknote trick (that allowed me to activate WIFI & BLUETOOTH), but unfortunately it couldn't connect to my WIFI (unlocked)...
Any clue ?
NO, I'm not a thief, a robber, a delinquent, so I didn't steal that phone. (Me and my wife are owner of 2 G4)
Feel free to ask me more infos/proofs via PM.
Thanks for your help and for his family.
Note : the phone isn't rooted and I don't want to do it because I don't want to wipe his (and it's) memory.

SIM Problem

I can't activate my SIM / phone number on my Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus. I also can't turn on cloud sync for messages & call history. I think this also caused the Play Store to not be certified.
I've googled and searched, but the only fixes that worked for others was only a few & they didn't work for me.
If it matters it was unlocked when purchased & I have Cricket Wireless service.
I've also tried doing it through i.mi.com but i still get same issues.
I also can't activate my messages.

To activate your SIM/Phone, xiaomi send an international message to UK, at least on my case.
Havent your carrier blocked this type of costs?
Enviado do meu Redmi 5 Plus através do Tapatalk
Oh is there a way to allow the cost?
I did it through the site i.mi.com but I'm still having all these issues.

Unlocking Huawei Mate 20 Pro that doesn't accept pin but fingerprint and face unlock activated.

Hi!
I have a Huawei Mate 20 Pro. It's pin code was changed but strangely it doesn't accept the new pin code (same situation with the older pin).
Fingerprint and face unlock is activated but these are blocked because I couldn't unlock the phone with pin code. Google account password is also available.
In case of my P30 if this is blocked by repeated unsuccessful pin unlock, it reenables fingerprint unlock after a while but the Mate 20 Pro doesn't.
How could I unlock the phone (without factory reset of course)?
