Hi,I'm thinking about buying a Pocophone F1,but after doing a lot of research I've come across some problems, mainly the screen bleeding issue and the touchscreen issue,I will be using the Pocophone mainly for playing games and media consumption so those issues are very important for me,so how widespread are those problems? It's just a minority or they're actually very common?
I can't buy the pocophone oficially in my country, only through aliexpress,so If I buy it and things don't work as they should I won't be able to just return it and get a refund, that's why it's very important for me to consider all the potential issues of a device,if you could help me I would be grateful.
I've bought it through AliExpress and I didn't have the issues.
Many have the issues you mentioned, but most don't.
Good luck and don't buy the indian version!
If the name on the backside is POCO = indian version.
If the name on the backside is Pocophone = rest of world.
Touchscreen is real for me . Specially scrolling . Never noticed any kind of screen bleeding in my device

What is your scrolling issue ? Also that is laggy/not always picking it up ?
I notice "something" about the screen aswell, still contemplating in sending it back....
Yeah, the screen bleed issue is not that noticable. My gf use OPPO F5, it also has screen bleed if you look for it. The touchscreen issue is real, but I don't notice any scrolling lag. The only issue is the edges of the screen is not as sensitive as the center.
Performance and battery is excellent. I really want OIS Camera and NFC, but hey it's a $300 device with SD845.

I wish I had done more research like you before falling for the low price. I have had to replace my POCO with a different company's phone now.
does the new batches fix the touch issue?

Hi all, How are you?
I have a Nexus 9 wifi 32GB "volantis" running stock Android 5.0.1 (LRX22C).
Its display shows a white border/blurry around the device edge on black screens ( or when there is a black area close to the device display edges ), Is this behavior normal?
I appreciate any hlp you can give me,
Roger
Welcome.... Just search for light bleed and you got enough to read ?
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Free mobile app
Hi mrorange2108,
Thanks a lot for helping.
It looks like that It is indeed backlight bleeding
My screen looks like this one:
http://forums.androidcentral.com/google-nexus-9-tablet/457830-example-light-bleed-nexus-9-a.html
Please, Is there any work around for this issue?
I have read lots of users reports saying that they had requested for a RMA, and They received another Nexus 9 with the same issue.
So, It looks like that It is useless to request a new one, as It will probably have the same problem.
I appreciate any help you can give me,
Roger

It's a flaw in the manufacturing process. Basically a hardware flaw, so you cannot fix it, only HTC can replace the parts or replace the whole device. If it really bothers you I suggest using low brightness, since the bleed will appear worse as you increase it.
Also the problem isn't universal. Mine has little bleed, and others can have even cleaner screens depending on their revision code.

thanks for helping.
I have searched about screen bleeding issue, and It looks like that all IPS screen have this problem, is that correct?
If it is something related to IPS screens, thus It does not help to request a RMA, as the new device is going to present the same issue , right ?
It looks like that all Nexus 9 are affected with this problem because It relies on IPS screens, some of them with major degree of screen bleeding, and others less affected - but still with bleeding issue.
I appreciate any help you can give me,
Roger

You will most likely get another N9 with this issue, but maybe you could get lucky and find one with minimal bleeding if you're okay with RMA. The screen in the N9 might have poor quality control just like some models have bad buttons+pushy rear covers+uneven volume rocker.
And I think it's safe to associate bleeding with IPS & (low quality) TN tech just like OLED tends to show the mura effect.
If you don't want to play the game of getting lucky I suggest waiting for the Galaxy Tab S2, next Nexus, or even getting an iPad if you already use their ecosystem.

Hi Ace42, thanks for helping again.
I understood that all IPS screens have bleeding screen issue, right?
Does bleeding screen issue indicates some kind of another future screen issue?
For instance, If my device has bleeding screen issue, Its screen is going to fail after 3 moths of use?
or Other problem might rise if my device has bleeding screen issue?
I appreciate any help you can give,
Roger

No, it doesn't indicate other issues. Light bleeding has been around forever & even TVs + monitors can still experience it to different degrees. I wouldn't worry too much about it because of its commonness. I'm not saying screens can't randomly fall, but if it develops dead zone, yellowing, etc it will not be due to the light bleed.
HTC just has poor QC, it's the job of their employees to evaluate the performance of parts. Despite being an expensive device the quality isn't equal to Apple's.

Contrary to all the crap you will read about "light bleed", it is neither a defect, nor a flaw. It is a CHARACTERISTIC of ALL backlit LCD displays. The reason is has recently become a "defect" in some people's minds, is that there are some display technologies now that do not use a backlight at all, such as the common AMOLED... which has its own set of flaws, such as requiring a much greater resolution in order to yield a similar "look" as a backlit LCD (the higher number of pixels means that you need a stronger GPU), and being extremely poor at accurately reproducing colors.... BUT, no backlight = no light AT ALL from areas that aren't displaying pixels.
Hi all,
thanks a lot for helping.
I understood that black light bleed is a issue in all IPS screens, so if I request a new nexus 9 with HTC's RMA, thus it is going to have the same issue.
Lesion learned: I am going to avoid IPS screens for my next devices.
Thanks a lot,
Roger

IPS still a good technology, that's why LG banks on it unlike Sammy. The bleeding can be unnoticeable or severe. That's why quality control is so important.

Hi everyone, i am planning to get a mate 20 PRO. And I've read about the ''GLUEGATE'' issue. So does the gluegate affects the performance of the phone? Does the gluegate worsen or spread overtime? Your help will be gladly appreciated.
There is already a whole thread about this but no it does not affect performance and in most cases including mine with LG screen did worsen over time. A lot of people are receiving Boe screens or defect free LG now though.

If you can wait another month or so you'll probably end up with a better device. It's a great phone but I'm wishing I would've just gotten a note 9 and been done with it tbh.

The LG screens do effect performance, especially of the in screen fingerprint reader and swype typing which got worse for me as the screen got worse.
New ones are all coming with BOE now though so no worries.
I don't know if it's getting worse over time or I'm noticing it more. The screen is beautiful and looks sharper than my note 8. But at low brightness or any app with a grey background, it looks awful and so distracting. Exchanging my unit. I know Huawei server centers and carriers are replacing or fixing for free. Not an option for me since I live in the US

Boe or LG ?
Lg. Oh the worse part is the viewing angles, it shifts a blue/green then turns almost copper at extreme angles. Didn't have that issue before giving the wife my note 9

Where did you get it from and how long has it been? Can you return it?
So, I have been seeing many reviewers commenting potential display quality issues, mainly screen bleeding all the way around the screen and punch hole.
I know it can be considered as normal for IPS LCD screens, but many say it's really noticeable and can be annoying. Also, pretty low brightness is reported as under-average.
It seems, according to what I have seen and read, that display is downgrade from Redmi Note 8 Pro, which has pretty good display, no screen bleeding and decent brightness.
So, those who have Note 9 Pro (9S), have you experienced this issues, is it a general thing, or maybe it's just some batch in question.
I really would like to buy a phone, but I wont take a bellow average display as compromise.

Not confirmed from my side,no visible bleed around the camera hole. I was asking myself about this reported claim.
Display is good for me and can easily compete with my old MI9T.
I don't regret buying this phone.
I was hoping to hear that, because I've also saw people commenting that their units are free of any kind of screen issues.
But it seems some batch of phones is impacted by this issue.

Mine is perfect. Don't listen to Frankie from Frankie Tech on YouTube. He's full of $hit.
Mine is fine. Nothing noticeable. ??
Mine is two weeks old and absolutely fine. I have yet to notice light bleed (should I have, or would I need to look for it?) and there's no display retention issues.
I notice the faded color around the screen, im thinking on a return. But dont know if its normal, cause cant notice on some apps even at max brightness. Just got the phone on Sunday
Hi there, I am using 6/64 GB variant POCO F1 for one and a half years recently I noticed problem like screen burning, on my display. If I use any app for 5 to 10 mins I see a shadow of the same app for 20-30 mins behind the screen. It is more clearly visible in dark mode or dark grey background.
Is there, anyone facing the same issue or knows whether it is a software issue or there is something wrong with the LCD panel? And if its a hardware issue where in India can I change my LCD panel for a good price with good quality?
I posting the Pictures of Screen shadow below, please check it out.

It's a hardware issue. Have an issue like that too. It happens intermittently, but isn't really an issue for me anyway because when I switch to another app it's not too noticeable. Usually happens when I read manga since the screen is mostly white, then there's artifacts for a while then is barely noticeable.
As to where you can get it fixed in your country, sorry I'm not from India so I don't know. But if there's a Xiaomi store/service center they should be able to help you
You can greatly reduce that effect on stock MIUI by going to Display > Color Scheme and change it from Automatic to Standard. Been having the same issue for about 8 months (my device is 18 months old), other than that, haven't had any other display problems, so there isn't much of a reason to replace the lcd pannel (unless you're still under warranty).
Had the same issue with a replacement screen, but after some time i decided that it bothered me too much, so i decided to replace the screen again, and now everything is fine.

what was the cost of screen replacement and did you replace the screen in MI service center or in a local shop?
Well i was able to fix it by using lawrun oc build i implemented the amoled color option and i don't have to suffer from this problem anymore.
Hello!
I've read that there are two display manufacturers tianma and huaxing So which is the better one and how can I tell before buying the device?
From what ive read from a 9s/pro facebook group, most of the screen bleeding issues is with huaxing panel. I personally have tianma display, it has no bleeding and retention (as of now) but it does have some shadowing around the notch. And you cant tell what display you will have have unless you opened and checked it through engineering mode, its most likely a lottery really.
How exactly can I check which panel my phone have?
Checking the LCD manufacturer:
https://all-spares.com/en/articles-and-video/how-to-check-the-lcd-vendor-in-xiaomi-smartphones.html
...but Redmi Note 9 Pro is not showing the LCD manufacturer there.
I have huaxing panel with no issues. There's no bleeding even if I put my screen on black. But thanks for asking!
My phone has a huaxing screen too, and I have no issues.
Sometimes I have the feeling people are SEARCHING for something the can hate on a phone...

Better to know it beforehand than to cry about it later.
If only your display misbehaves, you'd feel the real pain of getting a faulty display of previous Redmi and Poco F1 owners :crying:
My Redmi Note 7 had Tianma panel and it was really bad... Keyboard with lag and a lot of screen retention/burn. Now my Redmi Note 9 Pro (max, 6/64, 64 megapixels) have Huaxing and that problems are not present, by the moment.
But in YouTube you can see many videos with redmi Note 9 pro speaking about burn ins, ghost touches, etc. Typical tianma disease. For now maybe not many (?) users get this problems, but how these screens behave over time? Is screen from Indian unit (9 pro) different then from global (9s)? I can see more Indians completing. And trust me, they don't complain without good reason
I have one week to decide either to buy this phone or not. I would really like to believe that everything will be fine etc, but I've almost lost the hope
