Hi everyone, 1 week ago I've update mine lg g5 (H850) to Oreo after I've unlooked the bootloader and rooted it. With Magisk I've installed Viper, I've also flashed the mk2000 kernel. Now looking around the functions I see that aren't possibilities to use the flashlight. The shortcut doesn't work and in the camera doesn't show it. Anyone know any solution?
Sorry for my English
Magisk breaks flashlight, at least latest version of magisk available when official Oreo rolled out. I'm using supersu for the time being.
With mk2000 kernel installed properly flash works for me!
Check the kernel version in software information. If you have version info inside, then mk2000 wasn't properly flashed. Mine shows Kernel Version "Unavailable" after successful mk2000 flash.
You should first flash Magisk and then MK2000. Did you do the opposite?
Hello,
just flash mk2000 kernel again.
I solved today by updating the mk2000 kernel to v1.1.
thank you guys

Hey guys,
Since latest update (v0.37.0) of Pokemon Go, rooted devices users are blocked from entering the game. See this article on xda-dev.
The only (known) solution to bypass this is to follow this guide : http://www.androidpolice.com/2016/09/11/guide-play-pokemon-go-0-37-rooted-android-magisk/
BUT...
It seems that flashing Magisk-v6 modifies kernel or something because on Mokee's CM13 ROM, i don't have GPS or internet data anymore.
If i restore boot from TWRP, GPS and internet are working again, but not Magisk.
Is there a CM13 ROM for Kenzo (usable as a daily driver) that works with Magisk?
There is another alternative by chainfire, but need the latest systemless supersu v2.78 SR1!
It is experimental and may not work for everyone.
Also I don't think it works with xposed!

Thanks for your help! Since it won't work with Xposed, i will wait for a stable release.
It's good to see that Chainfire is involved.
That's good news. will give it a shot sometime. If anyone tries it before please let me know what you did and how it went
If this gets a stable release I might give it a try. I'm running official CM13.0 btw.
Okay, latest stable release of CM13 official works perfectly with Magisk-v6 on my Kenzo.
But to play Pokemon Go 0.39, systemless Xposed need to be disabled (so a reboot is needed).
Plus, SafetyNet Helper app returns "false" to the "CTS profile match" test. So i guess Android Pay won't work.
i just stoped playing since they forced me the update
no harse feeling. wasnt fun anymore anyway
was lvl32 and used pokemon go controls to get to the nearest city 25km from my house since there is nothing around me.
i played once a day toke gyms back if they where taken thats all .
anyway i dont miss it to much trouble to get it working no worth it
Hey guys, I'm actually running official 32.2.A.0.305 build, downloaded using XperiFirm. I use my carrier build (Orange FR).
My phone is a big mess (old systemless root, old magisk build, ...), so I plan to update to make a little cleaning.
For now, my carrier (Orange F) only provides 32.2.A.5.11-R14C ( https://xpericheck.com/device/E5823 ).
There is another french build, called "Customized FR", with firmware 32.3.A.0.376-R3D.
So, my questions are:
- Is it better to wait an update from my carrier, or the Customized FR build will be fine?
- If I update to Android N, is this tutorial usable to grant root access? (I know there is no xposed for Android N yet, but I can live without it, as GravityBox is the only module I really need)
Thanks
Bump
I found this and this.
Is it better to use last Androplus kernel or stock "modified" kernel?
Thanks
Hi, I've updated to 32.3.A.0.376-R3D Customized FR, and it's working like a charm. Installed AndroPlus Kernel, and a TWRP build found on XDA.
Solved.
Hi,
I'm running an old build (32.3.A.0.376) with Androplus v43 kernel. I also have Magisk (v16.0).
Last update was like a year ago, so I plan to update and take a fresh start. But I don't know if it's better for me to update to use :
- an official build (32.4.A.1.54_R5E)
- a custom ROM (Resurection Remix, ...)
I also found some new kernel exists (GreenKernel for example), but I don't know wich one should I take.
I found this tutorial for official ROM (Pictorial Guide: E58xx Android 7.1.2+ [Root + Recovery + Magisk + DRM + SafetyNet]).
There are also some older tutorial (like this one, this one and this one)
→ So, what's best at the moment? Using a custom ROM? (then which one?) Stay on Sony official ROM?
Which tutorial should I follow?
Thanks a lot !
Bump!
Thanks
So, i bought a new mido few days ago. It is very good device. I just have one issue, the dt2w is not working on mine even in stock miui. So i am waiting for three days for unlocking my device officially. Then i installed the latest Lineageos 15.1 on latest global stable firmware. Its really smooth experience at all. No bug. But, i still faced the dt2w issue (stock kernel). I tried to install custom kernel (franco kernel), but still the same. I have ft5435_ts touchscreen. Anyone can tell me an explaination about "whats going on with device"? Thanks for advance.

I'm facing exactly same issue here..
Opened a thread to ask other people of their touchscreen model with everything working fine.

I'm thinking of picking up a NIB H850 G5 for dirt cheap.
I'd like to update to the latest compatible OS for security update reasons, however, require 100% working, and 100% stable OS. I'm going to be using the G5 Cam Plus accessory as well.
What ROM would you recommend? I don't want to use a finicky ROM as I like my devices rock solid for daily use. Thanks!
For a 100% working device, you only choiche is stock Oreo. Unfortunately, all Lineage builds have problems with IR and VoLTE. Plus, by using a custom rom, you won't be able to use LG Camera software (which is, in my opinion, far better than any other, especially for filming).
By the way, if you agree with losing these functionalities, the best rom you can get is Lineage 16, with android Pie.
re
.hi, i use custom rom 16 which u mention and my camera wont work at all. not only lg camera. also flash is not working/
Thanks for the info guys.
Suppose rooting and keeping stock would be wise then.
Is it possible to root with the latest updates or did LG/Google lock it down? Ie: do apps, like payment apps and Netflix, still work on rooted devices, or is it SOL if rooted? I've been out of the loop for a while
In need of a system wide ad/data blocker since the next phone plan I'm getting has a hard limit.
Cheers!
Rooting still works on H850 using Magisk. In stock Oreo, Magisk breaks the flashlight function. To restore it ad have a fully working phone, you have to flash MK2000 kernel after Magisk. Banking apps work well if root is hidden using MagiskHide. I'm not sure about Netflix, as I've never used it.
You can install whatever data blocker you want. I have installed AFWall+ and AdAway, and they work as they're expected to do.
Stock oreo 30c + magisk + mk2000 kernel is the way to go. Its fast, reliable, good battery life. No irritating bugs like volte and wifi calling not working.
I use adaway and i have added the energized blu go hosts file-

This is the route I'd like to go. Unfortunately, LG couldn't be bothered to release Oreo for my device (RS988). Never again, LG.
