Android, Reimagined.
XOS is a new generation Android-based cutting-edge OS based on the Android Open Source Project and Code Aurora Forum releases.
What is XOS?
halogenOS, also known as XOS is a new Android ROM which ships with the global aim to
become a modular ROM which keeps as high as potentially possible operating
performance on your mobile device while still maintaining a sufficient feature
base of nice, small and minimal features that would not be available via any
external feature base, extension, mod or plugin.
We hope you have a truly halogenified experience!
Internals of XOS
At core, the ROM is composed mainly of components from the
Android Open Source Project (AOSP) and Code Aurora Forum (CAF),
with extremely minor set of components from LineageOS (LaOS or LN) which
have been added to source in order to allow for better cross-device compatibility.
Our LOVE to others
A huge thanks goes to those behind the AOSP and CAF, the LineageOS Project and all of its
contributors for the sources used in the development of the base ROM which we
started with inclusive of all the work and dedication their team puts in order to
keep us updated on the awesome contributions that they make.
We will be keen on ensuring that we be up to date with the code from our base sources,
with regular ROM updates hopefully coming from time to time.
Please do not ask for ETA's (else you shall be spooked by Mr Skeltal). Almost all of us are
students, and with the current lifestyles and routines we have, it is not that easy to acquire
time to develop the ROM, though we'll be sure to keep you updated and release OTAs as
soon as they are available and ready for publication. If you want to be really updated quick,
then join us on Telegram: http://telegram.me/halogenos
Visit our website for features such as: Downloads, Information etc.
http://halogenos.org
Overall as a ROM, XOS is very stable. Our mission statement has always been of maintaining a clean and properly maintained ROM.
We take proper priority with ensuring that performance and stability are put first, features are considered an extra topping on the cake.

Many thanks for all your efforts, it's great to see the LG Spirit being given a new lease of life with these ROMs! Is MIUI ever going to be a possibility? I used it on an Xperia Ray about 6 years ago and loved it, it'd be interesting to see how it's changed since then.

The porting of MIUI rom is different and i don't think that he can port it, because it uses different techniques.
Here check it out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gy7GgXPd6dg
Oh and i don't think that there is an Android 7.1.2 version.

Hello everyone, after long studying both kernel and ROMs, i've decided to start building a ROM of my own.
Download
If you want to use Xposed. After flashing rom, boot it and only after that flash Xposed.
GAPPS
Support and a complete pack with other stuff (cm-12.1)
It is recommended to use F2FS.
Recovery - Wipe - advanced wipe - Select internal card - FS options - Check F2FS and swipe.
Remember that you'll loose everything on your internal memory.
Partition configuration i recomend for best speed:
cache --> F2FS
Internal Data -->F2FS
System --> EXT4
Features:
Updated SQL to 3.14.1
Optimized SQL code for faster Read/Write
CM Super User (for now is the most stable one)
CameraNext from COS13
New Kernel
Improved Code of frameworks
Optimized Build with custom toolchain on ROM and Kernel
Optimizations for our chip
Improved sound with speex resampler
Improved bionic with many optimized libraries (faster rom)
Improved Art with upstream patches
More than 100 mem fixes not included on cm builds
Optimized native frameworks for our device
LZMA updated to the latest
Proguard 5.3
Google Webview
F2FS ready for data and cache
Immersive mode
Expanded Notifications
Network Monitor
K1 Camera (Color OS camera and plugins)
ColorOs Blobs (much better quality)
More coming soon
I'm a very praticle user, and my aim will be to get a very fluid stable system, at same time with speed and battery, keeping most stock possible with the optimizations which will improve for real our experience.
Thanks
You problably wondering why i say is CAF+Google+CM. It's in fact very easy... and i have seen many threads which mislead the interpertation. Google provides AOSP+ kernel patches for the nexus devices which are for our chipset.
Qualcom provides CAF changes which is over linux kernel changes and google changes. (in other words kernel is linux based and frameworks/art/bionic are based on the google stuff which is also based on linux)
We still have CM changes.
So basically how it works? i'll simplify
We use Google as base which includes CAF changes and CM changes... and with this ROM... jgcaap changes
So why Add CAF on some roms at tittle?
Basically is linux kernel with CAF changes without google or CM changes on kernel (and kernel only)
But let me add you some knowledge here. What you call CAF is in fact Oxygen OS kernel. In other words, what Devs which have on title CAF which is related to 3.4.0 kernel is in fact linux+CAF+Oxygen OS.
Oxygen OS changes is only compatible with blobs which are from oxygen OS, and we do not use it. So because of that, the rom problably won't boot in case you flash a "CAF" kernel
Why some Devs use the called CAF and some CM source?
Depends on preference. I prefer CM because i believe is the best not only on performance but also never had issues with it. But there might be different experiences regarding the phone you have since we all have different batches. There are devs which believe that compability issues might be related to some CM commits. As also, there are devs which think the other way around.

Thanks also for the experience i won with @ak @savoca @Lord Boeffla @ZaneZam by discussing and learning about the kernel. A big thanks to @dorimanx. Thank you @franciscofranco for commits to improve kernel!
Thank you @Markox89 on being first help on rom building. @katinatez for guiding me to create better builds! @arter97 for his toolchains and commits.

Thank you very much!

Running phone dialer app when placing call - I get immediately 'no service' ('x' on carrier signal icon).
Only way to restore is reboot, but bug is persistant.

I can't adapt for CarbonROM at the moment, because I need to download the source code to the HD and at the moment I don't have enough space. As soon I can, I generate the adaptation.

I knew I was forgetting something. Sorry
OKEY
I decided not to continue with the maintenance of the bliss as it takes 2 times longer to compile due to the immense amount of fonts and other things that I have no idea what it is, doubling the file size and the costs with the server.
In order not to open another topic, I decided to modify this one and move on.
For anyone who was wearing bliss, sorry. Keep good memories.

About magisk: Read here
Hello.
Sorry, if you are a real ROM developer then please look at the camera driver in the open source code published by Samsung for the model GT-I9100P, there mentioned a possibility to take pictures (and may videous) with 10bit per color component colour depth! (Currently our device can take 8bit photos only.)
Please, if you are programmer then make a ROM which takes 10bit photos (may 10bit RGB TIFF, 32bit per pixel PNG or at least 10bit RGB DNG).
I can offer bounty of 50USD if you will able to do it for me and for others.
May you can make this improvement to the device as a paid patch and sell it.
If you will achieve that then it will be a great step beyond for our old Galaxy S2.
I had attached a photo taken by our device and we can expect yet more rich colour improvement together with a significant dynamic range widening if 10bit colour depth will be achieved.
P.S.: May you can cooperate with the people from PentaxHack web-site.

We are very excited to announce the release of Paranoid Android Quartz, based on Android 10.
On the first launch, you’ll notice a clean setup with a beautiful wallpaper from Hampus Olsson, who teamed up with us again to create several beautiful pieces of artwork. Hampus is a multi-disciplinary artist whose design stands for itself and we’re glad to have him onboard. We also added further UI touches that we believe enhance the overall user experience. You can find all of the Paranoid Android wallpapers and many more in the Abstruct app, included in our builds.
Our builds are based on the Code Aurora Forum Android base, which is optimized for Qualcomm platforms and has a higher degree of performance, battery life, and functionality compared to the Android Open Source Project platform. Installed PA quartz 4.
The room is quite smooth and easy on eyes by default settings.
4 minutes into the install and I experienced a random reboot.
Double tap to wake doesn't work even though it is enabled by default in settings.
All features are working nice.
I did face a couple of freezes and had to restart the phone.
Dirac is great and audio quality is loud and clear.
I couldn't check whether volte is working or not.
battery backup couldn't be gauged as it drained down very fast. I need to recalibrate the battery.
I have installed a custom kernel (LH) for double tap to wake. The reboot tile is very useful and it's working. A volume tile is requested.
I'm adding log s in case you find it useful. Please continue this good work.[COLOR="S
Correction. Stock kernel has double tap to wake. It is smooth and stable than custom kernel.

A big thanks to aniket_jaiswal(aniketizhere), for helping me testing these builds,
properly logging/debugging them which at the end resulted in us fixing all major bugs as quick as possible, as per my previous post you might know that i do not have potter with me anymore. But aniket_jaiswal's potter was used for the whole bringup. : D

Many Thanks 4 Your Kind Words ?
Thank you very much for the update and support. Is this a 'user' build or 'user-debug'? My banking app only supports user builds.
Wow!
Wow. Nice job.
Going to dig out the device and give this a good run
Thank you
Great work!
As for now, biometric is not available for some apps (nextcloud, two of my banking apps) but is working OK with Signal and for Android itself. A lot of customisations are absent, but I'll wait

Could be because AOSP (in android-11) commented out an overlay in frameworks which defines the biometric sensor config, as they want OEM's to enable as per device or whatever.
I'll add that up and hope these issues should be fixed
Nice job!
Thank you
What about the 2GB RAM variants, do you know if this models can run this ROM?
Android 11 GApps for Cyanogen worked for me ,
however the moto actions didn't worked. its crashing but thats fine for a Vanilla build , thanks a lot for great work ...
i am amazed by Motog5 plus its a wonderful device which allows android 7 till 11 , what a money saver ...!!
Hello,
After 2 days testing i come back to arrowos 10 due to:
- proximity sensor not operational
- bluetooth link with car doesn't work ( loud noises during call)
- Android auto doesn't start
- worst battery performance
- gesture app crashes also when not invoked
Anyway i would like to thank you for your great work!
I'll wait some time before upgrade to 11.
Have a nice day!
I don't use phone in car, but proximity sensor is not working for me too. The same about gestures app, but it is clear from announcement.
Thanks for all your work man
Impressive!
Kuber Sharma doing a Robin hood's job creating latest roms for old phones with no chance left to upgrade
Thanks 4 the rom
Just an update on progress so far: FIxed sensors and MotoActions, encryption works, working on fixing SafetyNet. Now after some testing with aniket, there are few UI lags and hiccups in android-11, I am trying to debug and fix those before releasing a newer update.
Oh and hotspot improvements, not completely fixed yet as AOSP has deprecated a bunch of WLAN/tether overlays, etc, as per new requirement might have to move to rro modules for device-specific configs for WLAN. so yeah. something to look after later
about Android Auto no they don't work on barebone AOSP, it requires caf surface flinger changes or some other changes (somewhere later in the future to look after)
@kubersharma Is this Arrow 11 build 'user' or 'user-debug'?

Thanks a lot!
I have been using the rom since yesterday and I am very satisfied. Its developer also provides constant support from the Telegram group. If you are using Poco F2 Pro, give this rom a try. It provides a seamless Android 13 experience.
Which fw should I use?
Edit: Ok, now it's on first post. Anyway I get a "signature verification failed" error...
is there any way to enable DC dimming on this rom? if yes I'll try to support this

The recommended fw is MIUI Global 13.0.3 or above.
You can't flash different packages in PA Recovery, neither switch from unofficial to official due to different keys used for signature.
I suggest you to flash it via Fastboot, it's faster and avoid this kind of issues. But don't forget to format data after flashing it.

Not yet. Our "Auto DC Dimming" feature is still under development.
You can check its status at Gerrit.aospa.co searching for dc dimming.

OK thank you.. I'm stuck on miui because my eyes are bleeding without dc dimming..
Hi and thanks There are two bugs, sometimes in the standby mode of the software, the screen does not turn off automatically and the power key must be pressed. And the second thing in relation to the otg converter, after the data transfer is completed when the port is pushed out, it takes a long time and finally even the phone is restarted.
Hello!
I've got very good experience with this rom, thank you for it!
I have just one question: I've seen in some roms (like PE, etc.) vpn hotspot feature - could it be in any plans for the future?
I get an error like this when installing via fastboot ; FAILED (remote: (system) No such partition)
Thanks for the work done, great R0M

VoLTE / VoWiFi will be available again on next update.
But NFC is working, make sure you're not using root or any mods. I use NFC like every day for payment and it's all fine.
Can someone help, after I flash this ROM , I lost my imie, now my phone are working but can't read sim card.
Does this ROM support unlimited backup to Google Photos?
