Thank you both.
However I have already been able to unlock the bootloader, install twrp and the new 8.11.7 keeping the bootloader unlocked and twrp as it should be, all using same PC and my Mi Account, how I did:
1- Ask the SIM card and authorized account Mi of a friend
2-Factory restore from my F1, I introduced the sim card from the friend, and started the F1 with my friend's account (without the factory restore did not work)
3 - I opened Miunlock on my PC, with my friend's account, and tried to unlock the bootloader, did not allow saying that I had to spend 72 hours after the last bootloader I made, but I was happy because it no longer gave the unknown error -1
4 - I returned the SIM to my friend, and put my SIM, having finished the session of the friend's account and log mine, reboot
5 - I opened the Mi unlocker, I loaded my account, and voilá!! unlocked the bootloader normally.....them twrp, and then flash 8.11.7.zip over twrp
I conclude that when we flash to 8.11.2 by Miflash, and the bootloader has blocked, the Mi unlock was confused and with some error, loging my frind account free of issues, the error has been corrected, so i can re-use my account normally, and unlock bootloader.

Thankyou for your reply brother but it didn't work for me new account showing me to wait 72 hours so, i should probably wait.
Wait 72 hour is ok. My friend already unlocked by using that way.
The exact same situation i have been stuck at!!
XDA truly be the abode of Android.
I wasn't hoping to find this issue with anyone else as such until this moment!
I have been awfully stuck at this 8.11.2 build with a locked bootloader without even being able to update to the later versions!
The mistake was that i carelessly moved on to flash even without noticing the default was set to lock the bootloader.
Things i tried:-
-trying the conventional method to unlock which, as mentioned by my friend above, ended up with an unknown error-1 screen after all the way up to 99%.
- deleted my mi amount and made a new one with the same sim... Even added the account to device and used as new.
When i tried to associate the device with this account i recreated, a message pops up saying " can't add any more accounts to this sim".
- As tragic it may seem, i settled for a user experience with the stock mi bloatware... Until i realised if the "sim" is the problem, why shouldn't i try a new sim.
- Grabbed my mom's sim card, went on to create an mi account linked to that sim, apparently found out that i had already created one for her but never used to root her device ( redmi 1s).
-I slipped the sim card into my phone, added her account, and even associated the device to that account of hers.
-Eagerly fired up the unlock tool, smashed the unlock button impatiently, to find out a message that asked me to wait for 72 hours until the next try.
- now i am at my 42 hours remaining Mark, and not even sure if it will work.
So what do u ppl think? Is it worth the wait ( like ot or not i have to) ? Or am i better off grabbing a different sim card which doesn't have an mi account.!?!? And will i be asked to wait regardless of whether a sim had or didn't have an mi account before.
Strange! I have locked the bootloader a couple of times by mistake. And I didn't have to wait to unlock it again. As soon as logged into MiUnlock tool using the same account, it unlocked the bootloader within a couple of seconds.

Hopefully you read this.....I am in similar situation trying to unlock a mix 3. I used my sons sim to get to the 72 hr unlock...After that i popped my sim in. I am waiting the 72 hrs....When that happens, do i need his sim again when i try the unlock? Or will it work with mine?

I don't know whether the method you are adopting will work but with your sim it will not work since the request was given when the other sim was in. You will need your son's sim at the time of unlock.

I applied for unlocking bootloader and it was accepted. I logged via same account in MIFlashTool and in phone. When I try to unlock it just gets stuck @ 50% and an error pops up 'Current Account is Different from the Account Info on the Device Redmi/Mi'. I have disconnected my other mobiles from my main MI account. Debugging mode and OEM unlocking is ON. Needs to unlock bootloader to using custom ROMS( who doesn't!?)
Using Redmi Note 4 SD.
PS: Tried all the solutions in net, didnt worked.

Hey bud, wait few more days, dont try again and again youll get your device unlocked eventually.
That ''Account mis-matching error'' is being faced by everone who tried to unlock their bootloader after getting permissions from xiaomi. so, if you look closely there are multiple threads regarding unlockin bootloader. so, wait few more days, may be 5-7 days, then try unlocking your phone, it should work. :good::good:

Wait for a few days..like 4-5 days. Don't try to unlock during these days. Then unlock.
You are getting that error because Mi hasn't updated your permission status in the status.
Same thing happened with me.
And don't try unofficial unlocking methods.
I received the unlock permission 3 days ago. As instructed, I have bound my MI account with the device under developer options. Still the unlocking abruptly stops at 99% stating "Current account is not bound the device". This is frustrating :crying:. Now I have no idea what to do to resolve this problem . For reference I have attached a screen shot showing I successfully bound my Mi account to the device. Also there is no other device in my account. Any help will be appreciated except "Wait for XX days / weeks" .

Mi customer support representatives have no idea what a bootloader is and what unlocking a bootloader means. I called them twice, everytime they thought I'm stupid enough to locked out of Mi account and lost access to my phone. At the third time I asked for their senior representative. After a long explanation he somewhat understood and informed me that they are not supposed to give any information regarding unlocking bootloader as instructed by their higher authorities. Still I pressed him for solution, finally he told me to go to service centre and pay applicable charges to unlock the bootloader. At this point I lost my patience and I asked him "First my device is under warranty. Secondly if the fault is not from my side then why hell should I pay? If Mi wants us to pay money for unlocked bootloader then it should have clearly mentioned in the official website. Why all these fiasco? Why harass customers for no reason?". They replied to that by disconnecting the call .

change to developer rom version 7.2.16 using updater app. now when you are on developer rom you would get an ota for latest version, update to latest developer version and then try. It worked for me.
I was facing the same issue for weeks too. I was getting the 86016 error repeatedly. Finally, someone suggested this: https://www.technobuzz.net/redmi-note-3-unlock-bootloader-couldnt-verify-device/. Method 1 worked for me at the first try. Please don't waste your time by changing your ROM without trying this. You can thank me later! 8)

ok guys, I just unlocked my bootloader on mido (Redmi Note 4x/ 4 Snapdragon). What i did was use an older version of Mi Unlock tool. This is the version: miflash_unlock-en-2.2.406.5_2
Go to this thread to get the above version of miflash tool: http://en.miui.com/thread-204866-1-1.html
Use this version and simply connect your device in fastboot boot mode, login using your MI account (with unlock permissions of course) and then click on unlock once it recognizes your phone.
This did the trick for me today. I already had unlock permissions on my MI account but I was getting the infamous 86012 error when associating my device with my MI account.
With this version of the unlock tool, I was able to unlock my bootloader without binding the device with my account.
Good luck unlocking your phone!

You probably already have, did you bind your phone with your account in developer options? If so just run unlocking tool.
[UPDATE] Successfully unlocked bootloader today
I was able to unlock my bootloader in the morning today. After a week long heated arguments with Xiaomi customer support finally I'm feeling happy to be free.

A week after I got the permission, XIAOMI Global and Malaysian support told me that you can unlock right after getting the permission, that waiting is not necessary at all.
Problem is that my error is not the same as other users that had to wait to fix it. The MI Unlock tool says I need to bind my account to the device, and when I try to do so from DEVELOPER OPTIONS I get the error "Couldn't verify, wait one minute or two and try again"

I did try that but never waited for long time to log in again... there is one thing that might be related or not... MI Cloud can not find my device in the map, the option is turned on in the phone, sync works fine, google maps and GPS also.. but MI Cloud can't find my device for some reason despite saying it is online...
So the trick here is that you do not unlock the bootloader that way.
Head over to the official Miui site to apply for unlock permission:
http://en.miui.com/unlock/
Sign in with your Miui account, needs some extra stuff like reason why u want to unlock bootloader fill everything up,eventually they will send to your phone number a message telling you that you have the permission. Go to their site again and they will redirect you to download the mi unlock tool. Follow the steps given and done!(pray to god everything will go right cause i unlocked mine in about 10 attempts cause of dumb errors)

I actually received the message in about 6 hrs, and then immediately unlocked the bootloader. No bind or similar stuff was asked. Hmm in your miui account you have provided all of the info you were asked?

Yeah all info provided (email, phone, same nickname as in the forum, etc etc).
I got the unlocking permission in less than an hour but I got the error from the very first time I tried unlocking...
I found other people with the same problem in the forum but no solution more than waiting for an uncertain length of time
Xiaomi made it very painful to unlock a bootloader and MIUI is full of bloatware, flashy animations and useless features, **** ROM in my opinion. I think I will get rid of the phone and move to another brand. I don't feel like buying their products anymore
I absolutely agree with you, while the hardware is more than vfm i didnt like their MIUI os from the beginning thats why i instanlty changed it. Idk maybe try reinstalling the mi flash tool thingy or downloading an older version of it, that could help. It might help if you rollback in an older miui aswell? Like MIUI 8 or maybe try getting a developer rom and try again and tell me if that worked.

After reading a lot of posts here and in the MIUI forum during the past 4 days, l have already tried the following suggestions:
- 5 different versions of MI Unlock tool 1.0, 1.1, 2.2, 2.3, 3.3 (latest)
- Global ROM Stable and Dev (v9.8.5.0 and 8.4.26)
- China ROM Stable and Dev (v9.8.5.0 and 8.4.26)
Where to get older MIUI ROMs? That's something I didn't try yet
EDIT: this phone was released with MIUI 9, nothing older than that for it
Did you try creating another Mi account and then try unlocking agaim the bootloader?

4 accounts, I think the problem is with XIAOMI servers, the info doesn't update quick enough and the MI Unlock tool doesn't see enough info to determine that the phone you are trying to unlock is actually yours. That would explain why you have to wait for some time until it works but the official support says you can unlock right away after you get the authorization to unlock. Super stupid from Xiaomi's side, to create a server dependent unlocking process and to have slow servers that make everything difficult
Hmm maybe you can ask sime help from the shop you brought it from? Since you didnt unlock bootloader, the guarantee is still valid
After 72 hours required by the Xiaomi tool. It is still not possible to unlock the bootloader of my Pocophone F1. I'm with find device enabled, sync enabled, OEM unlock enabled, USB debugging enabled and Mi account connected. If anyone knows how to solve this problem, please tell me.
PS: My ROM is MIUI 10 Global Beta v8.12.7
That's weird. Have you tried unlocking when the 72 hours weren't over yet? Because if you try to it should show the amount of hours remaining. If it never showed that while trying to unlock within the 72h period it might be another problem. Maybe you can run the chinese text trough google translate, with a tool that converts an image to text (don't know of any but they probably exist).

Register your device phone number first from developer options. That might solve it.
In the new version of Mi Unlock says in English that I need to use my device for a few more days to be able to unlock the bootloader. But it does not say exactly how long, slowly I'm trying.

Try rebooting a few times. Add a fingerprint if you haven't already. Sync with Mi Cloud every time after you reboot. These things could add to your "usage score".

You are supposed to use the phone normally after making the request for bootloader unlock. Please also note that you should be logged into your mi account in your phone all the time. If you do that and also do a few syncs as suggested by another member, you are sure to get approved. There is no other way, you have to wait.

I reverted to my old phone after I made the unlock bootloader request and I was not logged in to my Mi account the whole time. I switched on the Poco about 2 weeks later and was able to unlock the bootloader with no problems. The trick for the OP is to not only register your email with your Mi account but also your phone number through settings.
I think that's what he is missing.

I'm pretty sure that's what he is missing. Solid advice.
If the above methods don't work, then just factory reset your device and repeat the steps! I'm sure it'll work
Had the same problem.
Unbounded my account and loged in again on the phone.
Now the tool works and i'm unlocked...
Try toggling off the OEM Unlock setting then toggle it on again.
I'm facing the same problem, I requested for unlock last weekend, tried yesterday to unlock (as well over the 72 hours) & was notified that I need to try again in 1 day. I also tried the various suggestions here, but nothing helped/worked.

If it is asking you to wait for a day? I suggest to wait for a day, bottomline is there is no alternate to it, as far as I saw, go step by step, shall wait and see, should work fine
Best to insert the sim card to poco phone and using it for there days after bootloader unlock applied.
Hello everyone,
I want to unlock bootloader of an old xiaomi redmi note 4 but i am having few problems.
⇒In the mi unlock status while using mobile data and clicking "Add account and devices" i am getting Error code 20091 in MIUI v11.0.2.0
So i downgrade the rom to MIUI Global 8.5.8.0 (NCFMIED) and now it's showing couldn't verify wait a minute or two .
(note: In the unlocking process i have also enabled OEM unlocking and USB debugging)
Although I know that it is crucial to bind the account with the device for unlocking process but I used the MI Unlock Tool to see what it shows.
⇒I used MI Unlock Tool version 6.5.406.31 And updated my driver but the unlocking process failed and showing me this—

"The phone has been locked by the account 186****158 by searching the phone and cannot be unlocked"
I have searched about it in google but there is very little information about it and none are helpful.
Also I have post this problem on MI Forum but so far no answers.
Can someone please give a solution to this problem.

How did you downgrade with a locked bootloader?
Does the account number match yours?
Check here if the phone appears.

1) By connecting edl testpoint and using MiFlash I have downgraded my rom.
2) If you mean the account of my phone and the log-in account of the unlock tool are the same then yes they are.
3) Yes my account appears in https://us.i.mi.com/

So you have a special account otherwise it is the account of the one who uses the EDL mode which is necessary to unlock the bootloader.

Normally to flash in EDL mode with Miflash, the account must have a special authorization that only Xiaomi repair centers or some developers have.

I have watched a youtube video about this process and there he didn't mention anything about having special authorization for EDL mode flash for this device.
So what does it mean that only someone from Xiaomi repair center can unlock bootloader for this device?

So you found or stole a xiaomi with the bootloader locked, you flash it in EDL mode and voila?
One example among many others.

Thanks for answering my questions so far.
This phone is not originally mine. My big brother broke his phone and one of his friend gave this phone to him and now that he has bought a new phone he no longer need this phone and gave it to me and when I got the device it was fully functional but I hate MIUI so I decided to use custom rom on it. That's why I was looking for a way to unlock the bootloader.
It is possible that my brother friend got the phone from someone shady who stole it or found it and the original owner locked it.

Yes when I got the phone it was fully functional running on MIUI v11.0.2.0 and when I tried to unlock the bootloader with official methods I was getting errors so I tried to solve this problem by watching youtube tutorials but none of them work except for one video where he showed this error problem can only be solved by downgrading the rom and to downgrade I need to connect EDL testpoint for this device. But after downgrading the rom to MIUI Global 8.5.8.0 (NCFMIED) another problem occurs now it's showing couldn't verify wait a minute or two.
This is the youtube video but it's in Hindi language.
If you click on the link I recommend you to skip to 17 second's

You must sign in,preferably with your email address or the flash code.
But if your account does not correspond to the one indicated in the first post means that the owner has not deleted this phone from his account (which is done in the event of a sale) and without his identifiers the unlocking is impossible.

I can change the password using the phone but I have tried it before and now to reset password via Mi Unlock but it always seems to stuck on the Checking for security issues... page.
So I guess there is no other solution to this problem other than try to contact the original owner or Xiaomi services center.
Thanks for listening to my problem and trying your best to help.
