Basically I ran Livesuit to flash my Chinese Tab, its called a desiretab has an a10 processor. Anyways the first flash was successful, besides the fact that it didn't pick up touch calibration correctly. So, I decided to flash it again with a different firmware image, low and behold it gets about 50% in and just freezes up. Now the Tablet shows no form of screen output, I attempt to flash it repeatedly, nothing works. Help Please.
*Just noting that when I say I attempt to re flash it and nothing works, I'm saying that it just sticks at zero and the flash command does nothing.
Strange, I used to own some of these tabs but its been a while since I used livesuit, if I remember correctly there is an option to reformat as well? Maybe best to try this and then attempt to flash factory firmware to it.
If you've tried all this and still nothing, I used to be active on a different forum that had a large selection of threads on allwinner tabs called flashmyandroid.com , hopefully someone there could be of more assistance, otherwise this may help

Its an old thread on these allwiners I started back when, probably not a lot of info here and it was for the a7 but best of luck!

I wasn't sure where to post this for best way to get message out there.
I was trying to flash the rom on my Galaxy Ace 2 from Jellybean (which makes it slow) back to Gingerbread using Odin 3. I have done this sort of flashing a few times without problem, however this time my PC decided to crash halfway through for some reason I have no idea why its normally very stable.
Anyway result was phone would boot loop and no recover mode available just download mode :crying: and no matter how many times I rerun the flash and even though Odin3 said it had all gone fine it still did the same (note the rom I was using I had used before ok)
In desperation and because phone is not worth a lot I even use Nand Erase All despite everyone shouting DON'T DO IT on here you WILL brick it
BUT I now have it up and running again using a rom from here
hxxp://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=GT-I8160
Note as I haven't posted more than 10 posts so can't add a proper link so copy and paste this then change hxxp to http
Flashed with Odin in download mode and OMG my phone now works and as I have read that many people have phones bricked like this or have been as crazy as me and used Nand Erase All I though I would share this good news. Just to note as well although I'm sure it has no barring on the process as it didn't change what the phone was doing but I left battery out all night before doing this but thought I would mention it just in case.
I used first rom on list being from the UK but (note if you reading this in a few months or years from now it may not be the same one I used)
There is rom for what looks like all Samsung devices in many different languages.
Please note I am not an expert just lucky amature
Hope this helps
Ah just noticed a problem ..lack of memory
Nuts I have just noticed that there is only 2.3GB :crying: of memory in total and there should be 4 Device Memory 1.20GB and 1.1GB USB memory maybe a custom rom will fix this
AnTuTu benchmark test results
I have just run AnTuTu benchmark test and was shocked at results the ROM I used was OS 4.1.2 with a build date of 02.01.2014 so very new
So my original Benchmark results before embarking on this was 4333 now its 8377 I even ran test again because I didn't believe it but its right, this new ROM has doubled the overall performance, If I had known about this ROM before hand I wouldn't have just brought myself a new phone
Ohh so there is a version with only 2.3GB

Sooo I learn more some Ace 2's only have 2.3GB of memory but I would have thought if you had 4 you would still have 4 unless it is gained by file compression hence the reason it is so much slower on the benchmark test. I don't know anyone care to enlighten me?
Hi everyone,
I'm freshly registered and totally ignorant in all Android and tablets stuff. Also please excuse my english, and if I haven't posted in the right place.
I recently bought this tablet [MID tablet, GPU MALI 400, 512 MB RAM, Android 4.0.4, CPU: Boxchip A13 Cortex A8 1.2GHz], I wanted a light portable device and for the price it seemed like an excellent offer.
At first I was pleased but then found the device too slow, hard to handle, etc (I couldn't watch videos that required Flash 9.0). So I decided to upgrade the OS from Android 4.0.4 to Cyanmogen 9.0. I used PhoenixCard 3.06 on a 16Gb SD. The burn was succefull. I plugged then the SD into the tablet, it flashed, the green bar was fully filled and at the very last end it showed "sprite update error: failed to open part file [@". Not knowing what was the issue I took back the SD, turned on the tablet then at the little Android logo, it froze, and the logo splashed lol. No way to turn the tablet on again. I'm downloading right now the firmware ROM and hope to make a succefull flash.
Is there anything I might do to get it back working if this doesn't?
Thanks.
probably not. most of those chineese allwinner tablets are lacking built in recovery, so hard reset to factory settings is probably not an option.
flashing stock rom is the way to go.
Hi. Just found me a cheap replacement tablet after my previous one bricked a few weeks ago(I had rooted it, it was working better than ever for 4-5 days and suddenly shut itself down and restarted one day and just booted to a blank screen). The default recovery on that tablet was all but useless.
Anyways on the new tablet when I boot into recovery mode it is all in Chinese. I obviously don't read Chinese but I would like to have a recovery option should something happen to this tablet. Plus I might want to try to root eventually if can get a fairly high certainty that if something goes wrong this time I can use the recovery menu to actually attempt to recover the Device . Also this time I'll obviously want to try to back things up before I attempt anything.
With all that said how safe is it to flash a custom recovery onto an Android device? Is there any chance of bricking it just doing this itself without rooting? Also how hard would it be?
This device I am using is a digiland d1018a 10.1 inch running lollipop 5.1. Arm cortex quad core CPU. Arm Mali 720 GPU. 1 GB RAM and 16 GB flash memory.

So no then?
Thanks
Thanks a heap. So informative and helpful.
Somebody help me please
Hi,
Im new to this forum (well, not 100% new i usually look for useful guides and apps in XDA) i have a problems with my device (Lenovo A6000) not just one but many and resulting in this.
In june, my phone seems to be so slow and there is no sound (notification, media etc) and my sim card is not detected eventhough i inserted it (i have two sim and neither of those is detected). so i tried to turn on and turn off the device several time, but only thing i got is after the logo on reboot, its just blank screen with some screen brightness or light
so i decided to look XDA about the problem and i decide to Flash new ROM, i search many of Stock nor Costum Rom and neither of those work (im on KitKat). eventually i found the one, an upgrade to Lollipop and its working the only rom i tried that work for me. this time because i get stuck in the logo, i also install TWRP for Lenovo A6000 by SevenMaks and seems to be very useful ahead.
for some weeks, its working just fine until one day i decide to turn off my phone because its laggy and slow, i turned off my phone and tried to turn it on again but surprisingly i got the same problem, but this time the phone is succesfully turned on after a very long time to boot (30 minutes to boot) but the sim card is not detected again like the last time, so i decided to used the same steps (Wipe data and Cache, flash rom, reboot) and voila its working again but i lost my data of course, this event happened everytime i turn off my phone, like 5 times in one months i must flash rom everytime i turned off (but the 2nd time i tried to backup data and restore so i dont lost any data) so i decided to NEVER turn off my phone in any circumstances.
until last night, i have new problem is the Bluetooth isn't working, i cant turn it on the bluetooth. because its very important to i to use bluetooth, i turn off my phone (but this time i reboot so hopefully didn't get the same result) but no, the problem is still the same i cant turn it on again (logo appears, after logo i just got the blank screen with screen brightness light) so i think this is the same i just have to backup, wipe, re-flash rom, restore but no, when i go to the TWRP, it take more time to boot to TWRP so i think there is something not right, and after i get to the twrp, twrp ask me too "Unmodified Partitions detected" "TWRP detect unmodified system partition" so i think its just a small problem because i haven't partition my SD Card into 3 partition.
i tried to backup data but the only thing i got is TWRP log:
Code:
E: Could not mount /data and unable to find crypto footer.
E: Unable to mount data
Updating artition details...
E: Unable to mount "/system"
E: Unable to mount "/cache"
E: Unable to mount "/data"
....done
[B]E: Unable to mount storage.[/B]
i get that in the Log and after the MD5 Generation the Backup was complete but Failed (there is the backup folder in the restore menu) i tried to backup again but without the data checked only Boot (32mb) and System (923mb). last time i checked the Data it says (0mb) and i look over the storage it says Internal Storage (0mb) and External Storage (2350mb) so i think something is wrong and i cant recognize what the problem is, usually i know what is wrong because i recognized it and have the solution, but this time i dont understand.
I also tried to wipe everything (except external because the external doesnt matter) and Flash the ROM but i got the same log and same result if i boot the phone (but this time it says no OS installed! and i just get stock on Logo and cant get to the stock bootloader).
right now im looking for the unable to mount solution
with all thank you, can anyone have the solution to this? and explain it to me how to solve it? thank you :good:
From the looks of it, your internal NAND might be corrupted, which is very difficult to fix (it involves soldering at chip level - desoldering the nand and replacing it), in which situation you might prefer to rather get another phone or apply your warranty
But don't take my word for it (beginner in Android here) and wait what others have to say.
I might be missing the elephant in the room.

I come from mindset that tech gadgets should last between 12-15 years, the thing with phones is that internal storage is unlike 3.5" HDD in desktop - firmly soldered on motherboard. And seeing that NAND has limited number of R/W cycles, failure is inevitable. Only question is when.
Are you by any chance based in EU? If so, check the purchase date, and in case it's less than 24 months you could still apply for warranty replacement. Vendors usually don't care whether the device is rooted or not, even if they'd reject it, it's worth a shot.

Unfortunately, im not from EU. i can afford to fix it, but it cost almost like a new phone. i consider buying Xiaomi 4X is it a good idea?

By Xiaomi 4X you mean Redmi 4X or Redmi Note 4X?
I would get Redmi 4 Prime or Redmi Note 4. X-series are meant for China market. Both of those phones feature Snapdragon 625, IMHO one of the best offerings to date in terms of power efficiency and compatibility.
Note 4 (mido) comes with leaked kernel sources from May 2017 and it'll soon receive stable LineageOS (it's already official, but still weekly). Not sure about Prime, but if you prefer 720p 5" screen, Prime should be the one.
Of course there are Honors, don't have much experience with those unfortunately, but from what I heard those are very good bang for the buck.
Anyway, there still might be a way for your Lenovo if you could format SD card as internal storage. TWRP should be able to do so. Never done that myself, hopefully someone can chime in and advice?
