Bootloader unlocked T-Mobile LG G5 H830 - LG G5 Questions & Answers

Hello Everyone, I'm new to Lg mobiles.
I have just unlocked my G5 H830 BOOTLOADER via Fastboot and it worked.
I'm on latest 30c Oreo Firmware, now my question is, How do i install twrp? I'm a little confused with nougat firmware like you need to downgrade and then install twrp and hence root.
But can i directly flash twrp on my device via Fastboot on 30c Firmware?
Kindly bare with me, as i got confused and hence asking here.
Any help would be appreciated.

New to LG SmartPhones World. Got my LG V10. Want to root it. Please help me...

I got my first ever LG phone. its LG V10. I dont know how to root it. Please all of you experts, I request you people to englighten me the Rooting process for my V10 smartphone. Currently my phone has Lollipop 5.1.1 with build number LMY47V and with Kernel Version 3.10.49. I want to root my phone with the latest android 6.1 lollipop ROM for LG V10. Thank you all.
First of all. Upgrade your Firmware to Android 6.0 by going into Settings-> General -> About Phone-> Update -> Software Update.
You don't have to root to upgrade to Android M.
But still if you want to root your phone.
First of all unlock unlock bootloader of your LG-V10. using the following link to the official guide from LG. (Enable USB debugging and OEM unlock) (This is only for H960A)
https://developer.lge.com/resource/mobile/RetrieveBootloader.dev
Once unlocked.
Install TWRP.
Put SuperSU in your phone and flash it using TWRP.. That's it.
If its your first time. Then use the following guide. It has all the details.

I would not suggest a firmware update yet as far as I know the latest firmware is 6.0.1 which I don't think is rootable
Sent from my LG-H901 using XDA-Developers mobile app

if they have the H960A wich have bootloader unlockable (when updated to Marshmallow) they can root it for sure!
First update to Marshmallow if you have H960A and then unlock your bootloader follow LG website to instructions and then search here for TWRP and then flash SuperSU zip file.
- and the last version of V10 H960A is 6.0 not 6.0.1.

I was having lollipop 5.1.1 for GCC countries like UAE/KSA and due to that reason my phone was not going into bootloader/fastboot mode. But then I upgraded to MarshMallow European version, my phone now can go into bootloader mode and all those steps can be done to unlock my bootloader. Any idea what should I do next after unlocking my bootloader while running MM EU version for the ROOT?:silly::crying:
Hi,
if you have indeed unlocked your bootloader what you should do is the following:
1. install custom recvovery
2. flash SuperSu.
You find a step-by-step guide in this thread (first post).

You need to provide your IMEI to LG in order to get the code to unlock the bootloader, so no - simply flashing a different kdz won't work.

LGM-V300L on H930?

Can I play SW with the Korean version of V300L on the European version of the H930 using LGUP and KDZ?
Do you need to unlock the bootloader?
Thank you...
EDIT: no.
___________
possibly, if you have a custom version of the LGUP.exe.
On the LG V20, they did it BEFORE unlocking the bootloader so they could flash a KDZ for another LG V20 variant that allowed unlocking the bootloader with Dirty Santa. YES, I know Dirty Santa has been patched and does not apply to this phone. My point is they flashed a KDZ for ANOTHER LG V20 variant, using custom LGUP.exe-- BEFORE the bootloader was unlocked.

Probably a stupid question... but.

I bought a LG V30+ (V300) Korean version and I was wondering if it would be possible to flash an international stock rom on it.
Is this possible?
Anybody experience doing so?
Thank you.

There is no chance to fladh anotoher Rom in ours Lg V300k yet. First will be needed to unlock our bootloader (not achieved yet), then TWRP and finally to have suitable ROM's for ours devices.
Step be step, lets be patient

On LG V20 they flashed another ROM (KDZ) using a custom made LGUP.exe file -- BEFORE the bootloader was unlocked. They did it in order to unlock the bootloader, installed TWRP, then flashed back the orginal ROM while keeping TWRP.

However that method would only help you (on South Korean variant) if you then had a way to unlock the bootloader AFTER you flashed it.
This "flashing another KDZ variant"method would possibly work on the T-mobile H932 which already has easily unlocked bootloader, but just has most of the ADB flash commands removed. It would temporarily turn the H932 into an LG US998U once that KDZ is available. Install TWRP, flash back to original H932 firmware, while not overwriting the new TWRP recovery.
But doing that on South Korea model won't let you unlock bootloader because your IMEI is ineligible on the LG Developer website, and the bootloader unlock exploit the V20 devs used has been patched.

Shouldn't that be possible on this? Or was there a patched exploit after that? Sounds similar to the G4 if I remember correctly.

The bootloader unlock exploit they used on the V20 has been patched, but the T-mobile H932 V30 doesn't need a bootloader unlock exploit -- bootloader is easily unlocked. What it needs is a US998U KDZ and a custom made LGUP.exe to allow installing KDZ from another variant. That custom LGUP.exe is what does the magic, but a dev needs to make one that works on the LG V30. Go follow the links I posted.

Is it possible to install a LG H850 europian ROM on LG H860?

hi
I was trying to install TWRP on my LG H860 but since LG doesn't provide official unlock.bin for H860 Middle east region, i was thinking what if i could install a LG H850-UK ROM on my LG H860 and then try the official way in LG developer site to get my unlock.bin for unlocking the bootloader.
here are my main questions:
1- Does this action will hard brick my phone or mess up with my hardware?
2- Does it discard my IMEI?(since i'm using a ROM from another region)
3- If this method was successful, can i install a custom OS like Lineage OS?
