Nope. Tried it and it degraded sound quality. Rather have a working quad dac then a crappy equalizer.

Technically, V4A will degraded sound quality if you play hifi music file, so i dont recommend it

This is the only thing that matters. People get too caught up in the technical side of things. HiRes doesn't mean anything if it sounds terrible or you don't like how it sounds

Well, i dont really want to argue anything, as i stated before, whatever sound good with your ear is ok. For me, as i already use v4a before and other sound mod too on v30, it make too much sound latency which interfere with some of my app and game, and for me too, i found a combination of poweramp and DAC with bass boost and short filter together with my KZ ATE make a perfect sound stage and clarity. So in my opinion , whatever sound good is ok.

I have heard that the Beats audio (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1728391) works for some and distorts for others. I was able to get it to install but haven't really tested it.

I messed with the volume using xxTweak on Ktoonsez's fluxx and ended up destroying sound on my phone calls. I got it back after resetting to default, fixing permissions and rebooting but I've been reluctant to mess with settings without knowing how I messed them up the first time. Not sure what corresponds to what in the options.
Is there any ROM or any app or anything whatsoever that is WORKING to record BOTH SIDES of call?
Thanks for your help!

Records both ways? Doesn't need to be in speaker phone or anything? Is there any settings I need to change? Sorry for all the questions I just want a working one and If I have to buy it I will but I need to be sure first.
There is a few version to trial. Take it for a spin and assess is functionality for yourself then if it works as well as you'd like. . Then buy if you prefer. Works fine for me on stock settings

Yes. .. Yes .. That's what I mean when I say it works fine for me. If it didn't record both sides. .. It would be essentially useless in my opinion.

If you are rooted Wanam xposed has that option. I'm not 100% sure if it works.

The thing is I am running CM ROM.. which is Kit Kat 4.2... I think that is why it isn't working for me.
Check out "RMC: Android Call Recorder"
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.record.my.call Make sure in tweaks you change source to phone call and audio format to wav for best quality. Works on stock rooted mj4.
I use Wanam module for Xposed. There is an option for call recording. However, it's not automatic. While in a call you have to hit MENU then select call record. Saves the files to Voice Recorder app location. It records both sides of the call perfectly

Hello,
I am wondering if there is any actual change in the sound quality. I was looking in the sprint dump and none of the HK libs or tfa files are in the stock rom. There was a similar thing on the M8 and I think an adsp.img made for HK would also be needed to make any change in the sound.
Rsotbiemrptson
With Harmon there is undoubtedly a change in audio. Clarify mixed with either music or theater mode sounds so much better. I understand what you are saying but the current adsp must be able to run Harman as well as Dolby.

Just curious, do you hear a definite change in sound when using headphones, turn off BoomSound and only enable H/K LiveStage? Mixing with Dolby doesn't help Also, different headphone profiles in LiveStage should change effect slightly for all profiles
I had only tested it on phone speakers. I will try it on Bluetooth and headphone.

Hahaha I am quite new to H/K, as I didn't get the M8 last year I am not entirely sure if Sprint is just offering the wireless speaker or a H/K edition of the phone. If there isn't a H/K edition of the phone, I don't think Harman will be working. On international stock, just enabling the switch does nothing to the audio effect
However, it would make more sense if Sprint was releasing a H/K edition of the phone plus the speakers.
What you may be hearing from your phone speakers is most likely a placebo effect.
I know placebo effect and it's not that! All 5 guys on my crew were amazed @ the sound difference. It's sounds just like when clarify is on on the m8. I will dig deeper to prove it's working and not just rely on ears!

Surely the libs would need to be added in addition to toggling to true in default, for any chance of this working.

not to mention libaudioflinger.so must have the code to call the H/K libs for effect to be working, that's why we couldn't get BoomSound or H/K working on M7

Mhm :silly:
It would definitely need all this I just had made the edit and after toggling there were sound changes so I thought they may have built all the libs and necessary files in. But after having the time to dig deeper I posted that it's not actually working its toggling music and theater on and off which is causing the sound change. Its definitely not working I just wanted to let people know it was in the default.XML for possible future development.

NEW FLASHABLE ZIP FOR ALL ROMS AT BOTTOM OF POST. Stereo speakers with no forced High Impedance.
If you want to support a broke dad of four kids any donations are appreciated.
I am also planning on building ROMs for the V20 since most devs have dropped out.
I am also almost finished with my complete social app.
Any donations will get you my social app for free.
It will be on the Play Store soon. However if you donate PM me with your donation info and I will send you a copy for free.
Mirror to all files at bottom of post.
Credits first off to my friend Freeza for which this mod was based off of. He gave me the go ahead to use and moddify any way I like.
This is the result.
I understand there are many files here but I like options.
Trying to support as many V20 variants as we have.
This is tested and works flawlessly on my Sprint LS997. This should work for all variants but this is made from latest firmware updates ZV7.
This is something I have been working on for a few days and have now got it Perfected.
I bring you Stereo sound via Front and Bottom firing speakers. Lowered volume to help protect your expensive device.
I bring you Quad Dac high impedance mode when HiFi is enabled.
Enjoy the full audiophile experience.
Hit like if this helped you out.
Unzip the file. Place it in root of internal storage in folder System/etc. Set permissions, turn device off then power back on.
That is all.
After setting my device up again I am pretty sure I found the problems some had as I had them that time.
Found and fixed the problems. Hifi really FORCED with Stereo.
rootlinux stereo high impedance FIXED
All files moved to the bottom of this post. Link contains all zip files.
Louder FIXED
Volumes bumped up but still below dangerous levels.
Louder MAX version 1
Louder MAX version 2. Master volumes turned up
More pronounced stereo effect FIXED
Louder front speaker to blend sound levels for a more emersive feeling.
High Impedance Bottom speaker ONLY loud without stereo effect.
Restore to default settings.
Edit...
OLDER
If you are on older firmware, try this file.
It doesn't work on my updated firmware as it is based on my friend Freeza's older firmware update and modded further by me.
http://cloud.tapatalk.com/s/596b8baba4348/mixer_paths_tasha.xml.zip
Louder Test Mod based on Freeza's mod.
http://cloud.tapatalk.com/s/597141478a03c/Old_Mod_Enhanched_Stereo.zip
More pronounced stereo sound. Louder front speaker ( still well under max volume ) to get a better sound experience.
http://cloud.tapatalk.com/s/596bfd0092333/rootlinux_more_pronounced_stereo_effect.zip
Even more pronounced stereo effect test file.
Try it and let me know. Based on latest firmware.

Just checked, the file is correct. Cover your bottom speaker and then put your ear to the top. You will then hear it. What is happening is in stereo the sound appears to be coming from the center of the device. I can raise the volumes and release a safety warning for it. Not a problem. The top speaker can not typically handle the same volume as the bottom. That is why I equaled them out.
