I got confirmation from Case-mate that this is the only case they make for our phone that will not cover the top microphone. I went ahead and ordered one using the Facebook discount. Go the their FB page and "like" them to get the code. If you are having issues PM and I will give you the code.

Agreed, but with the 20% discount, it was more manageable, though still expensive.
I "liked" the fb page, how long does the code take and where does it show up?

When you say the black barely there case, do you mean the normal plastic case (This one), or do you mean the AT&T specific brushed aluminum one in black (This one) the OP referred to? I'd like to know, even though Case-Mate might say otherwise, if all the ports, buttons, etc. are accessible in the normal plastic one.
Thanks

Thanks for these but how sturdy does the case feel? My concern is that on case mate's own website there are several complaints about the case cracking on the corners.
(sorry I can't post links cause I'm a noob)

case seems fairly sturdy. the Incipio feather on my wifes atrix cracked on one corner (these are similar cases) but that was because of taking it on and off and its stiffer. On this case it seems easier to take off so I dont think it will crack as easily....unless maybe if you drop it alot or something.
Got my case!
I received my Barely There Aluminum today. Fit and finish is great as you can expect from a case that sells for $40! I really like the heft that this case adds to the phone. Without a case, I felt that the S2 was too thin and light. The feel of the plastic bumper is very nice. It feels satiny and "soft". To me, the plastic actually looks like powder coated metal. The aluminum back and chrome trim really makes this case look very classy. The camera opening has a little raised edge around it so when sitting on its back, the lens is protected. There is also a very small raised edge around the screen which will help protect the screen when placed faced down on a table, though dont expect major protection if the phone is dropped faced down and dragged across the floor. I only have 2 concerns: one is that the plastic on the sides does feel slick to the touch and two, the power button is a little hard to press. You really need to use the tip of your finger in order to press power.
This case may not be for everyone since it does leave the top and bottom exposed, but that is to be expected from a "barely there" case. Overall I am very pleased! So pleased in fact that I am thinking about getting the Case-Mate Pop or Tough for times when I need extra protection for the phone.
Umm...pictures?

Do you have any pictures?
Agreed. Pics would be fantastic, especially from a few angles. The ones on the Case-Mate website don't give enough for me to make a decision. Additionally, what parts are plastic? I figured an aluminum case would be.. well.. metal. Is only the back panel metal and the rest is plastic? If so I just don't think I can make myself spend $35-40 on it. :|
Another point of concern for me is that on their website, even though they say US AT&T version of the SGSII (which is the SGH-777 we all have) the pictures are of a GT-i9100. Am I correct in assuming that they're just posting a picture for a different phone but actually make a case for ours?
Question: Do the barely there cases.scratch up the sides? I had a similar case when I owned an iPhone and it scratched the sides where it clipped on to the phone.

Certainly not the only case that doesn't cover the top microphones, someone didn't use the SEARCH button... just thought I'd clear that up so people don't think there's only one case on the market that fits our phone, however hideous or GPS-blocking it may be.
Are there cases out yet that make use of the space of the leather-back?
It is quite logical if you think it twice, i have a Spigen Neo Hybrid, although i love it, it makes the phone look like a tablet. The problem is, it covers everything around except the screen, so if a case does exactly that, why not get rid of pieces inside that take unnecessary space? Spigen would've cut 2-3mm out of the case if they did that...
I really like having a rough and tough handling phone, but i do not want to sacrifice volume space either, so is there anything that protects well and doesnt make a phone look like Robocop?

have you seen the replacement backs?
like this
now thats a start
if there is something though i like on the leather back, it's GRIP.
My point is for a "case", that makes use of both connection points (like the metal ones u showed) and space, and yet it protects the whole (edge's, sides and a deeper screen).

I bought this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/31088914192...eName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649
It covers the entire back, side, good grip on the side, and cover about 1mm of the front screen. I'm also having a tempered glass on and they both fit really well together.
Anything metal will decrease signal perhaps GPS accuracy.

I'd be sold if it got rid of the leather-back, as for something like that, the Spigen Neo Hybrid is by far the most simplistic looking case i've encountered (with GOOD protection)

material type is not a prerequisite at all, but GRIP is, and metal probably wont help there either.

The Spigen Neo Hybrid is horrible protection wise. Maybe from scratches and such its good but once it falls on its corner the plastic bumper is done.

Go for it. I have owned a lot of cases and the UAG is one of my favorites. Rugged and nice design. Fits like a glove with my tempered glass protector too.

I'm kind of a huge fan of leather cases. I had one for my S4 for the whole time I had it. I really want one for the G3, but the only one I can find that has the hole for Quick Circle doesn't have a magnetic clasp, so it'll just fall open. Does anyone know of a case similar to this one, but with a magnet to keep it closed?

I would recommend waiting for some more circle cases to come out and just get a nice normal case, but if you really want the case with the magnetic clasp and you could always cut the screen protector out.(or in my case a dremel tool cause the plastic is very tough and thick) That's what I did with a circle case I did not realize had a screen protector in.

If you look at the official LG quick case you can see that it does not have a screen protector and that's because you need to be able to touch that portion of the screen to use all the quick circle features like messaging or changing music. The screen protector just gets in the way.

The case I posted doesn't have a screen protector or a magnet. I really don't even need the quick circle part. I just want a genuine leather case. I suppose you are right about waiting though. For now, I ordered the one I originally posted. It's not as bad not having a magnet as I thought it would be, but this one also uses fake leather, so that's kind of disappointing.

the magnet is kinda of a double edge sword. Helps protect it by keeping it closed during a fall but you do have to pry it open a little bit as their probably a little stronger then they need to be. Case has a nice texture and feel to it. The circle window has a very thick clear screen making the screen very unresponsive, I ended up just cutting it out.. Very confident that this cover would protect the phone in a fall. No cut out for the notification light . Also putting a debit card in the interior slot makes the auto/off and circle notifiication seldom work. I have a Zagg glass screen protector and I'm not sure if its it or the lg screen is just picky when it comes to working the circle app. Not a bad case though.
I installed a case to show off the back of my s6 edge (platinum) and for some reason it has bubbles with the case that I used it with. Anyone know how I can remove these bubbles?

You need a case with an internal matte finish. Cases that have a smooth finish will naturally show bubbling because of the glass sticking to the plastic/TPU material.

Many cases from main brands like spigen now supply a matte back protector to prevent the bubbling caused by plastic tpu on glass.
Even the clear case from Samsung makes bubbles lolol
So what case do you guys recommend? I just want it to show off the back without having to cover it up you know.
Has you can seen with mine ,its like this and Samsung was suppose to think on that, before asking 30€ for this case that doesn't protect anything but the corners and shows that ugly bubble on the back.
So I've tried in excess of 10 cases for my S8. The fact that I bought them on Amazon made the process long and tedious. I've tried 4 from Spigen and several no name brands. The latest one I've tried is the official sillicone case. It's great but too sticky and any dust or lint sticks to it solidly.
When I had an S7 I had a case I absolutely loved, this one:
https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B0...ge_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1&tag=androidcent08-20
Unfortunately, they don't make it for the S8 (yet they do for the Note 8 which is frustrating).
Anyhow, does anyone which case can be the equivalent of the one above? I want a hard-ish case, with at least the bottom uncovered but ideally the buttons as well, rubberized back and dark if not black. That's it.
Thanks!

Oh that does look like a good one. Have you used it? If that point design is not rubbery but rather plastic it's going to be annoying to hold. Plus that lack of a slight lip on front worries me.

I use that one. It's got a rubber coating to it. Slim cases like that aren't meant for protection. No lip doesn't bother me as I have a glass protector.
