hello guys, i have the ue wonderboom as a portable speaker but i noticed that it sounds really bad with this phone, i dont have this problem if i use it with my ipad pro. in the developer option i see that everything is setted to the minimum quality: codec SBC, frequency 44,1/16bit. and it doesnt let me change any of the settings. whats the problem?
Normally the Bluetooth audio settings changes automatically to best sound quality.
Maybe it depends on the app you use to play the music? Try another app to verify

Hey all, just been playing with the equalizer settings with various apps (mostly Spotify and the in-built Samsung music player) and can't see that the 14khz setting are modifying the sound at all ? And fiddling with the 60Hz option just makes the sound thinner if anything. This occurs with all the wired headphones I try.
My Nexus 4 doesn't have this problem - 14kHz increases high treble, 60Hz add bass as you'd expect.
Anyone else have this ? Is this common to all Mega's, a problem with just mine ?
Bass boost not working
I also have this problem on the Mega. I can't get Bass Boost or Equalizer working in Pandora. I have tried a number of Bass Boost programs that work on other phones but don't seem to work on the Mega. Any ideas anyone?
Hey there,
I've been playing around with the equalizer settings on my Nexus 7 and noticed that the 'surround sound' option boosts the clarity and detail of the sound above integrated laptop audio quality. I haven't been able to Google a lot about that option, located in the Google Play Music equalizer, but it greatly enhances my audio experience with my Sennheiser HD598 headphones.
I found the same kind of option on my laptop's equalizer (Dolby Advanced Audio) but that option barely enhances anything at all.
Is my tablet's sound card seriously better than my laptop's? (software wise that is)
ps: I'm not complaining, just curious what the option actually does with the sound. If I turn it off, the sound gets more 'flat' again and isn't
as good as my laptop's audio.
Hello, I have a rooted lg v30 running boombox rom v.0.10.
The main reason I decided to buy the lg v30 was it superior audio quality. I also have LDAC supporting bluetooth headphones from sony so I was waiting quite eagerly for the LDAC support coming with oreo. I just learned today that there are additional bluetooth settings within the developer settings section.
But to my bewilderment I cannot change the settings to a higher quality. I mean I can choose the LDAC codec and the higher sampling rate but at the moment I connect the phone with the headphones it switches back to lowest standard settings... I installed the sony connect app to look if there was something to change there but it also did not show LDAC as an option after connecting to the phone. I am quite annoyed. Any Ideas what the problem could be? Is there a notification when a LDAC bluetooth connection is successfully established?
Thank you.

Ignore the app, it's completely unnecessary. Every time you connect your headphones, the settings are restored to default. Go to the bluetooth settings of your headphones before pairing them and change the 'Connection type' from Most stable to Best sound quality. This sets the highest quality codec your headphones supports as default. Go to Developer Options and change the sample rate to 44.1k or 48k and the LDAC Codec: Playback Quality to "Optimized for Audio Quality". Should have all settings stay supporting the max spec of both devices and software like Viper4Android. When you connect your headphones after doing this, a notification will appear at the bottom saying LDAC quality is enabled.

Thank you for your help - unfortunately that did not work for me. Like I said before I can choose the settings within the developer section before I connect with the headphones but the moment the bluetooth connection is established the settings switch to AAC ( which is not bad but it is not LDAC) and 44.1khz/16bits.
There is no notification regarding LDAC...
I updated the smartphone firmware yesterday to rule out some software related problems.
By now I am not sure if the problem rather originates from the headphones (wh-h900n) than the smartphone. Given that I just have one device that supports LDAC and one pair of LDAC headphones I don't know how I can determine which one is maybe not correctly working. [emoji52]

Answer:
1. Uninstalls that Sony Music Center (song pal) app
2. Remove your Sony LDAC headphones from your BT settings.
3. Pair your headphones again with your phone.
4. Go into BT settings. Click on the cog wheel next to your headphone device.
5. Choose Audio Quality over Stable connection.
6. You are all set.
Note. There is a toast message that appears once you're connected and established LDAC connection.
Hey, i want to increase my bluetooth bitrate and quality, but each time i change the settings in developer settings it reverts to stock. please help me
The device always uses the best settings according to the Bluetooth headphone's compatibility. You can't really force any settings on most of them except maybe LDAC quality. The only real setting you have is in the Bluetooth headphone's entry in Settings > Bluetooth where you can toggle AAC, aptX, etc. Even the available bit pool for SBC can't be configured by the user on Android.
has anyone else noticed that bluetooth quality is terrible when the phone uses a bluetooth codec other than SBC or LDAC? I've witnessed it with my Grado headphones as they only have SBC or aptX HD and the phone picks aptX HD as it would be the higher quality codec but sounds bad for moments and then it's like you go from mono to stereo in that sound quality improves for a few seconds and then goes to trash again. This also happens with AAC on a friend's car. Forcing the phone to SBC in developer settings makes it sound good, but it is cumbersome to always have to go to dev settings to change from the codec it picked to SBC, few devices have LDAC, and anyways why ship the other codecs if you'll have them broken
I tried sbc on my wf xm4 and all sound good

The point is that SBC sounds good and so does LDAC but the rest sound like ****.
I tried AAC with my galaxy buds pro and the high frequencies get a little distorted, as if it had a lower volume
AAC on Google Home (to which it defaults as it only supports SBC and AAC) also exhibits this issue.
If you are on android 13 64.1.A.0.891 than flash it back to 64.0.A.11.31. I had the same issues my headsec was popping and crackling my car unit (sony MEX unit ) was losing connection noisy and stattering playback
