Bluetooth and Ford Sync Issues - Nokia 7.1 Questions & Answers

Is anyone have issues connecting to Car Bluetooth? Just got the 7.1 and i have about a 20% success rate connecting to my 2010 F-150 Sync. The Bluetooth connection worked perfectly with my S8+.
Basically, when i connect i reviece no sound from Media or Phone calls. I have rebooted, factory reset, deleted the paired device, changed the AVRCP to 1.3 from 1.4...
Any suggestions

I have a 2017 f150 sync 3 and I ha e had that happen from time to time. I drive a lot (35-40k miles a year) and have had the phone for a week, this has probably happened 2 or 3 times. I unplug USB and plug back in and all is good. I use Android auto almost exclusively with my truck.

Have the same issue with this phone in a Volvo . No calls and music over Bluetooth. Very annoying! I hope they will fix this soon

I haven't had any issues with mine and my Ford Focus (from 2012).

[Q] Strange Bluetooth issue

So I got the Thunderbolt on release day and the first thing I tried when leaving the store was syncing to my 2011 VW Tiguan. It did sync fine with the phone (handsfree) and phonebook. I was using it without issue until I decided the other day to try streaming media to the radio. Both devices showed that the mediastreaming was paired as well as the headset.
Long story short... it didnt work. No audio was streamed thru the connection. OK so fine. Except now when I connect the phone to the car it first connects the headset and the media streaming profiles and then disconnects the headset. It will not reconnect at all now. (Actually it says that it is paired but disconnected)
I deleted everything and tried to re-pair it to no effect. I changed the phones name as well. I have tried a battery pull from the phone but it will no longer connect the headset profile to the car or download the phonebook.
**UPDATE**
I was able to pair it and use my jawbone headset. Would still like to get the speaker phone working.
Any thoughts? Im in the car for many hours per day and this is going to make me crazy.

[Q] SGS 2 Jelly Bean 4.1.2 - Bluetooth connection problems to car telephone system

Hello,
I have upgraded to Android 4.1.2 and my Kernel is JZ054K.I9100XWLSD. Since the upgrade I face problems with bluetooth. Everytime I conncect via bluetooth to our car telephone system (Audi), I get connected. After 30s I get reconnected than connected again. I had version 4.0.4 before and did not have any problems with bluettooth connections to my car. Does anyone have an idea? Does the 4.1.2 in general has this problem? How to fix it?
Thank you very much for any suggestion ort support!
That's strange. How did you update? Does is connect as rSAP or only with Handsfree profile? Did you already try to remove the pairing from the car and to do a new pairing?
I updated three days ago using KIES from 4.0.4 to 4.1.2 and I do not have any problems with connection to my VW FSE Premium. Everything is working like before I didn't even need to do a re-pairing, the old configuration was still working.

I updated via WiFi. Re-paring was not necessary. I switched not to visibility from 2 Minutes to always. Need to see, if this helps.
I do not need to set/change the visibility on my phone. I switch on bluetooth and when I enter my car, the car "takes" the sim card. When I switch off bluetooth or leave my car, the phone is getting access back to the sim card.

I've had similar issues with my SGS2 on ICS and now with 4.1.2 (XXLSJ). I'm convinced the problem is a combination of the phone's current processes and how often the car kit retries to connect. I have a Parrot based bluetooth kit factory fitted in my 2006 Mitsubishi. It usually connects within about 20 seconds of starting the car. It often won't connect for about a minute and sometimes doesn't connect at all (maybe 1 in 20 times). When it doesn't connect, I turn off bluetooth in the SGS2 wait about 15 seconds and turn it back on. It usually connects again without touching the car kit.
I've noticed that if I unpair the car kit at the SGS2, the car kit will try to reconnect about once a minute and the phone makes a noise to tell me that something is trying to connect.
Recently I took a vacation and rented a 2012 Toyota Camry and paired my SGS2 to its bluetooth. The phone connected faultlessly very time, there were no issues.
My theory is that if the phone is busy with some process or another when the bluetooth kit tries to connect, it misses the connection. If the kit retries several times (I'm guessing the Toyota kit did this), then there seem to be no issues.
I can only guess that if the SGS2 bluetooth stack is given a higher priority it would be less likely to miss the connection. Clearly that's impractical because bluetooth only needs to connect (maybe) 3-5 times a day and may exclude a more frequently used process.
Just my 2 cents worth - I hope that helps

Actually, we own two SGS2 phones: Both pair with our Audi telephone kit. The first reconnects after 30 sec./ 1 minute and then reconnects. The later stays connected. However, if I try to use the phone to dial a number via the Audi telephone unit.....the Audi telephone unit starts to dial and then stucks. The first phone is able to dial.....as I have seen in the web others seem to have the same problem with SGS 2 4.1.2. I even bought BLUETOOTH KEEPALIVE...no succces. With version 4.0.4 neither of the phones had a problem with paring with the Audi device. Any other ideas?
Same for me
Im also having the same issue, I have a SEAT Altea and after upgrading to JB on my S2 i have exatly the same issue.
Connecting to the Blue Tooth now takes a lot longer than previously and i get a rapid reconnection about every 30 seconds or so (could be slightly longer i havent measured it). There is no disconnect sound from the hands free though only a conneciton sound.
Please post if you find a resolution to the issue.

Problems with Bluetooth
Hi All,
I have the same problem. I upgraded to 4.1.2 recently and immediately after all was OK. However now it has developed a new problem.
It will connect to the Car Bluetooth and will play music however the minute I start a call it will only use the small speaker designed for when you hold it to your ear. I will not allow me to press the headset button and will not automatically switch to headset/Bluetooth. This is seriously irritating and I have tried all the usual options of rebooting and unpairing etc. but to no avail...
Your pearls of wisdom would be gratefully received
Using a Samsung Galaxy S2 with Android 4.1.2 Build JZ054K:I9100XWLSW

Fiachna
I report the same issue between my SGS2 and my '04 BMW 3-series.
With the 4.0.3 ICS no problems: the phonebook is shared correctly and visibile with the car, without loosing the connection.
Starting from 4.1.2 JB I'm not able to keep up the connection for more than 30 seconds, and I cannot read also the phonebook: in this way the phone cannot be used in the car.
The only way to have JB and the bluetooth working togheter is to install a custom ROM (4.2.2 SuperNexus or RootBox 4.2).
Try it!:good:
Install File Manager which can access system files
go to System/etc/bluetooth
in file called main.conf add
IdleTimeout=0
save file - it worked for me

Android Auto/Bluetooth Issues

Has anyone had any success with android auto and the V10? I have not been able to connect to my NEX4100 via android auto AND bluetooth....
I think there are general bluetooth issues. I have a 2014 Cadillac with CUE Bluetooth and the V10 connects fine but no media can play. Calls work fine. I've tried many of the tricks that helped with the LG G4 (turning media audio off in settings after connecting then turning it back on) to no avail.
Between this and the force restarts, I may return this phone and go with the Nexus 6P. Also annoyed that verizon is selling the Qi chargin back as an accessory...
I had the same issue with my 2014 Jetta and the V10, took me 30 minutes of restarting bluetooth, turning the phone off and on, turning the car off and on and finally I switched my car to FM and the bluetooth connected to also support media audio. After that it worked ok. No idea what's up with the bluetooth but for my wireless headset it paired without issue. Seems picky

Same strange issues here.
Paired no problem to a 2015 Honda Accord. Unable to pair to a 2011 BMW X3 (however the HTC One M8, M9, Samsung Galaxy Avant and Light all pair no problem). And it paired no problem to a 2016 BMW X3.
And at the gym, it disconnected from the bluetooth headset while I was using it. Wouldn't reconnect until I powered the headset off and back on.
I've got the nex4100 as well and I have had no issues at all. Everything works as it should.

I don't know. Others in the thread seem to be confirming the issue your having but I seem to be the only one with the exact same head unit. Do you have the update for the head unit? My S5 had issues before the update. Update is kind of old but it did help with my S5. And Android Auto is working fine.

I am up to date on the 4100. So i swapped it out today and now it works with Android Auto, however it still does not work with bluetooth which is super odd.. to my understanding when you plug the phone in to connect to AA it still transmits the audio over bluetooth. Pioneer said it could be something wrong with the media bluetooth profile or something. Anyways i guess im stuck until they fix it. Maybe when android M comes out.
I don't know about Android Auto, but I definitely think the V10 has Bluetooth issues. I traded my Galaxy S6 Edge+ in for a V10 a week ago. I notice the Bluetooth audio is consistently "skipping" on both my car's audio and my Bluetooth headphones. Both devices worked flawlessly on my S6. Sometimes my car will even completely disconnect from the phone and I have to go through a complete reset/re-add process to get it back.
Hoping a 6.0 update will come soon and fix this issue.

Just an update as I just ran new cable in the car for the new phone. Everything tested out fine for me. The car is an 02 Camaro that I don't drive often now that it's cold outside but after hearing your problems I wanted to make sure everything was working the way it's supposed to. I don't think bluetooth audio while on Android Auto worked at all but Google play works just fine. Bluetooth audio was flawless when not connected to Android Auto. Tested it on and off Wi-Fi. Good to hear your better after the swap.

I'm having problems connecting to my 2015 GMC Sierra (GMC Intellilink). I can connect, connect automatically, make and receive phone calls, but the bluetooth audio for music DOES NOT WORK. Most of the time, when I try to play a song via google play music or Deezer, the head unit in my truck immediately goes BLACK for about 10 seconds, I hear a whirrr of an internal fan, and it starts back up disconnected from the phone. The phone is causing the head unit to fail & restart. Sometimes it doesn't restart. It'll show the progress bar of the music, as well as on my phone. I can pause, play, next song, etc. but NO AUDIO comes out. It's just dead silent.
I'll let you guys know what my dealership says, as it's in service right now for this issue. I'm hoping there's an update for the software :/
When I bluetooth over to my $300 Sony x-7s speaker, every 10 seconds or so I get a loud static pop. Luckily I kept my note3 so I just use that until an update (hopefully) will fix the issue, so I can listen to my Howard Stern on the v10. I am surprised they didn't push an update on or near release date. Maybe they are going straight to Marshmallow.
So i have an update after having a week or so to play around with it. Although I cannot connect to my NEX 4100 via bluetooth I can use google play music via android auto. Also i cannot use spotify on AA UNLESS i hit play on google play music first then pause then try to play a song on spotify...... very strange.
I'm glad it's not just me... Same weird bluetooth issues here with my Mercedes E63 AMG and the COMMAND unit. It was working flawlessly with my last phone (Xperia Z3.) The V10 is nothing but a headache so far. The following problems are happening:
Won't connect at all, and hangs.
Connects for calls only, no media.
Connects, instantly disconnects, cycle repeats.
To fix it I either have to keep manually connecting from COMMAND, until it randomly works. Or disconnect from the phone, and reconnect again. Or turn bluetooth off and on. On the note of which, half the time I do that, it hangs. Love the phone, but I'm going to return it if this goes on.
Further note: I even took the car in to the dealer, and paid 150 bucks to get the latest firmware updates done on it. That didn't fix it either. Tried my Xperia again, still works flawlessly. Ugh.
I had an interesting issue with bluetooth.
I paired it to my 2015 Jeep Overland.
Music from SD Card played fine.
Then tried pandora. Nothing worked. Disabled bluetooth and pandora was fine. Went back to local mp3s from SD card and they would not play now.
Had to un-pair and pair it again. Then mp3s worked.
Played pandora and nothing and that broke mp3s again.
Then I tried my g4 on Sprint. Pandora worked fine.
Also tried Tune in Radio and that worked on v10 over bluetooth.
I think it is caused by Binge On from t- mobile downsampling the stream on pandora and the Uconnect radio does not like the bitrate or format.
I did read t-mobile will downsample streamed movies.
So folks with bluetooth issues, what are you testing with?
I have a less standard setup. I connect to my 2012 Cadillac system as a phone only, and I have an aptx bt dongle attached to the aux port that I'm connected to as a media device.
My phone connects to both simultaneously, and hands the phone back and forth for calls and music. It works flawlessly, and the audio quality way better than any OEM bt streaming that I've ever heard.
I have a Pioneer DEH 80PRS in my truck and it has connected and works perfect just like my G3 did. It always auto connects when entering the vehicle and hands off between streaming Tune in radio or from the SD card using the Android music player app and a phone call no problem. Hopefully the guys having problems will get a fix when the phone is given some MM goodness.
Same issues with Bluetooth and my 4100nex. Calls work, Android auto works, Bluetooth music does not. I'm in my 14 day window. This may be a deal breaker for me. Kinda regret ditching my note 4 for this.
Yall think it will get fixed with an update, or are we permanently screwed?

I am having the same problem with my LG V10. It won't stay connected to my Lexus 2015. The only thing I found that would work is if I keep the phone unlocked.
looks to be an issue with LG

Same issue between LG V10 T-Mobile and my Bluetooth audio on my 2014 Kia Optima SX. I also have similar connectivity issues between the phone and the Microsoft Band. Similar reports on the Microsoft boards of same Bluetooth issues with the Band and V10. Sounds like a problem on the LG side to me.

Android Auto and Bluetooth

Hey all, I recently traded in my V20 for a new G6.
I've got a 2016 Honda Civic and am having serious issues with Android Auto. Every time i plug in, it will play audio for about 10 minutes and then disconnect. Once I reconnect it will be about 10 seconds to 1 minute before it disconnects again if it connects at all. After clearing app data in AA i usually can get it to stay for about 10 minutes and then it does it again.
I know it's not the cable because i've tested both the cable that i was using with my v20 and also the one that came as a charging cable for the g6.
I have tried turning on USB debugging and also have tried all three USB connection modes.
This is super frustrating especially because for some reason (even though my v20 played audio just fine) the g6 and civic combo will only connect bluetooth for voice and not for media (without crashing.)
Anyone else experience this??
Sorry I can't help. It works fine on my Tesla.
I have what might be a similar issue. I don't get disconnects but on my 2017 Chevy Colorado, if I turn off the truck with the phone still connected to USB (for example, a quick stop at a gas station), after I restart the truck, G6 audio doesn't work at all. I have to reboot. I've tried force-stopping Waze, Pandora, and Android Auto; disconnecting and reconnecting USB; and even going into airplane mode (my phone hitchhikes on the truck's WiFi)... nothing works except a reboot. Literally the only thing I don't like about the G6.
Android Auto was flawless on my previous Nexus 6P ... but it went into bootloop and became a $700 paperweight.
I'm having similar issues with my G6 and AAuto in a 17Civic Hatchback My 1st drive of the day is usually ok But 2nd and thereafter drives no matter how much time in between The radio or music play pauses randomly whether it's a music player on Bluetooth sub Amazon music Pandora even Sirius radio I brought it in for service 4 times they tell me it's the phone or settings on the phone finally got a tech to see what's going on long story shorter they just replaced the entire radio/android system with latest android update well guess what same old same old still doing it very frustrating I had an LG G3 prior and for the most part no issues So is it a G6 thing Android Auto thing or Honda thing??? I also tried 4 or 5 different music player apps that are compatible with AA
When pressing the play button on any music player while connected to my 2017 Civic, it instantly crashes the bluetooth application. Oddly enough, for some reason the YouTube Music application can play multiple tracks without issue as long as you're using a playlist and keeping the screen off while doing so. I don't think that Android Auto is the problem, because it works perfectly fine via USB port and always allows me to interface with the application on my Civic's touchscreen panel. However, I am glad to see that I'm not the only one with this issue so maybe there will be a fix hopefully somewhere down the line.

Bluetooth problem

i have problem with bluetooth when display is off
on my mate 20 pro i have connect ford sync and galaxy watch and everything works perfekt
but if display is off a i get out of range of bluetooth for 10-15 sec after i come back to phone they want sync until i power on display of phone and then after few second
everything is fine
also with my car system if i live car with radio on and move away out of range connection between car and phone can't not sync after i get back in car
i must turn off radio in car and turn it on after everthing work fine
please help
how can i put my mate 20 pro to sync all pair device when display is off
I'm not having that problem with my Bluetooth car stereo (which is a Sony) but it does take about 1 minute to sync every time. I usually play a song or start maps navigation and after about a minute sound comes through my car speakers instead of the phone speakers.
Are you giving your phone time to sync?
You might also want to check if there are firmware updates for your car system. For my car stereo firmware updates need to be downloaded with a computer and installed via USB drive--there are no automatic OTA updates.
Other Bluetooth devices do sync immediately. The car stereo is the only device that requires a little time to sync but it was the same with my P20 Pro and Mix 2S so I don't think it's anything specific to this phone.
If you delve into the settings for your car Bluetooth you might also find a Bluetooth autosync setting that can be switched on and off.
Bluetooth must always be visible & try "Bluetooth Auto Connect" app.. works for me!
