Send help
Well cstark used to have an lg phone so he was making the mods for us but now he got a pixel 3. There is fu24 who is based on cstark's mods and makes them for lg. That's what I know

Hello,
Do you think that when and if lg releases Android 8.0 it would have support for Project Treble? Possible it would over time be done through development be done if people are still willing to for this device.
8.0 official upgrade with treble support? You should pray for LG to release Oreo for G5. It would be a miracle if they releases official Oreo upgrade. LG many told that G5 sales were disappointment for them. As far as project treble is regarded, there is possibly no chance LG would be giving that for G5 (Even G6 and V30 seems to not have project treble support). And Project Treble can only be supported if OEM gives it support. Developer probably can't give any device that support as it includes low (hardware) level programming and requires exclusive resources.
Hey I wouldn't even be surprised if LG releases their G7 and V40 phones with Android Nougat for 'logistic reasons' to avoid including Treble. They abandoned the G3 AT&T, US Cellular, and Sprint variants especially. They killed nougat support for the G4 as well. Not to mention they neglected to fully address bootlooping phones (5x, G4, V10). My next phone definitely will not be LG, likely Huawei, Xiaomi, Oneplus, Leeco, or ASUS. This customer support thread gives hope that the G5 will update to Oreo and get Treble: https://reddit.com/r/lgg5/comments/7fh1g7/will_lg_g5_receive_oreo_on_july_2018
If they do update the phone, it would be nice for them to update all variants this time around: H830, H850, H820, VS987, and RS988.
If someone dumped the file will it work with our V30 ? I know we have GCam but it would be a nice option.
Just thinking out loud.
So LG's released a nicer UI version (clearly inspired by the awesome One UI by Samsung) which I'm quite fond of.
Any idea if it'll be released for the V20, and if not (more likely) is anyone gonna be working on building it for our phone here on XDA?

One can assume it will arrive with Pie 9.0.
I've just bought a H840, I forgot to check before I bought it if it was a H850! Shame that there's no alternatives to the 7.x stock ROM, makes me wonder why LG never rolled out Oreo for it. Anyways, the phone is in very good condition so I'm not too upset & will use it as my daily phone while I do some custom work on my older H850.
I have a question about the H840 and wondered if anyone can help:
The Always On Display on the H840 does not have the 'Advanced' option to switch the AOD off according to a schedule. Does anyone know if it's possible to port the H850 AOD app to the H840?
Thanks
Disclaimer: I'm not familiar with the H840. But I suppose you could try it and find out. If you have any way to extract the app from the H850 (or from some stock firmware floating around), of course matching android version. With that said the two models are different enough spec wise I wouldn't expect it to work.

I've installed APK extractor from the Play Store & will see how it goes. There are other AOD apps, but would be nice to use the LG version if possible.
Hi,
I'm a GCam user, used it on my LG G4, LG G5, LG v20 and now Poco X3. Love it, but there is always something missing in all these ports. The white balance in better with one of them, it doesn't work with wide angle lens. Another port works with all lenses, but WB libs or sensor noise models do not match the sensor. Or there is simply no options to select a different library, etc.
So I wonder if there is a brief "how to mod an gcam" guide available, so may be I can have fun with tweaking another mod up to my taste. I do have some SW skills, plus an advanced degree at RTFM, so just a brief guidance would be sufficient (this is how to add a lens, this is how to add library, this is how to change sharpness algorithms or noise models).
Thanks

What about asking Gcam devs themselves ? Give it a shot, it they want to share they'll sure do
