For some reason my rooted stock S2 (from Bell unlocked using on Rogers) can't answer calls. I can call out without any problems but if someone is calling me, it'll hang up on them as soon as I answer. They then get a busy signal.
Any ideas?

Can't find phone.apk.... I deleted the cache of dialer.apk and the problem still remains. I also completely turned off call blocking and everything.
When I answer a call, it immediately disconnects.
This is interesting to hear. My wife and i are both on rogers. She has a rooted and rommed captivate and i have a rooted and rommed nexus s. We are both having the same issues for that last couple days. Weird stuff. Never happened before.
I put my SIM card into my wife's S2 (also stock and rooted) and it works properly. Accepts incoming calls. So it must be something with my device specifically and not network related. Strange... I've removed any possible suspect apps to no avail so far. Perhaps a core app update is the culprit.
Ya I am confused lol. I have been on the same rom for a few weeks now. Just started happening to both of us all of a sudden. Not sure if it is a certain app that we both have installed and its screwing up our phones? Just not sure at all.

Please let me know if you find a solution. I am trying a few things but no luck
I've been having the same issue with incoming calls all weekend, in my case I was able to rule out hardware by swapping SIMs with another Rogers phone.
On the phone a few times with Rogers Tec Support and I was told this was an issue on their end, from what I'm told it's related to the Rogers One Number service which I did register for a couple of months back. Although I don't use the RON service anymore it's still active on my account.
I just had Tec Support remove it from my account and am just now getting my incoming calls again.

This may be it. I recently signed up for Rogers One Number but never use it. That's the difference me and the wife's S2. She's not registered for One Number. Hmmmm..... But it's weird that my SIM accepts incoming calls on her device though.

is it possible to have a phone flashed badly or wrong? My Samsung Galaxy S4 was originally a U.S Cellular device, but was flashed to Verizon Prepaid. I basically have NO 3G. If and when the icon pops up, the minute I try to search or do anything it disappears.
My phone calls are fine, but my data is averaging 1X to nothing at all. Sometimes I cant even get a picture message out. I is driving me nuts, Especially when your paying for a service you cant use.
Was it possible that it was flashed wrong or bad? or is this something else. I have been trying to get it taken care o by Cricket King (ebay) but I think they think its on my end.
Any help or advice would be appreciated. Should I have it re flashed
Hmmm....I'm not a developer, but I do troubleshoot. Are you using Verizon SIM card? I believe once it's active and inserted you should have full functionality.

I'm no Dev either, but did you set up the APN settings right? I would assume since it was flashed to a different network you would need to set it back up to work on the Verizon network. As for what those settings are I'm not sure. I've always been on Verizon and haven't had to mess with that stuff

Usually it ends up just being the APN's or the sim card. Since these phones are already unlocked it doesn't take much to get them going on another network

Well I don't know about the PRL much myself. I know my sprint s4 needed the prl updated from time to time but that's sprint.
And your sure your not using a sim? I'll be honest I'm not really sure about switching carriers and all that. Just from what I've read on here I've seen many people do it fairly easy.

You must be using a SIM card because both U.S Cellular and Verizon need a SIM card. But to update the PRL type in your phone *228 and it should come up with a message saying it has been updated. Even though 4GLTE devices automatically update. Also, I would go into Settings, Connections, More networks, Mobile networks, Access Point Names, and make sure there is a green dot next to Verizon.
I recently switched carriers. From Verizon, I went to T-Mobile. As expected, I'm already having issues. I can RECEIVE texts, but cannot send them on 4G LTE (only when I unexpectedly get "H+"). I can also access the internet. I have contacted T-Mobile, but honestly, they don't seem to care about my issue. I already manually changed the APN. The only thing I can think of is that my phone is currently on Lollipop, which is not yet supported by T-Mobile. Could this be the root of all this? Any help would be appreciated.

Many of us have gone rounds with T-Mobile. Myself, I've also dealt with Samsung and Verizon as well. Haven't had a resolution since I believe May. One "fix" you can do is add a subject to every text. It'll send everything as an MMS. Another thing is if you're rooted you can go in and turn off LTE. So far, that's all I know of to help. Someone told me a particular ROM allowed them to text on T-Mobile, but I've only heard it from one person so far.

On my rooted SCH-I545 on Cricket, I installed Advanced Signal Status (PlayStore)
Click Additional Info at bottom of screen
Click Phone Information
Change LTE/GSM/CDMA auto (PRL) to GSM/CDMA auto (PRL)
This worked for me, not a perfect soln, and I still haven't fixed the + sign in the incoming calls (still working on that one).

Yes, and Secure Wi-Fi has now been added. I think it previously existed only on the European firmwares. Now we get it, too.
Any way to see if AT&T Wifi Calling will work as I do not see the option in Settings? I have US Unlocked GS9 on AT&T
If I flash this U1 for my ATT phone (running full Tmobile firmware now),
will I have Wifi calling with Tmobile? Or Wifi calling only works with Verizon with U1

Despite what the websites like to post, there really isn't a VZW U1 and an ATT U1. There's just XAA U1. You'll get Wi-Fi Calling on every carrier with it now, except for ATT.

Reading up on it (short summary) this is because AT&T uses a database of IMEI numbers to provision WiFi calling and VoLTE. Since our IMEI numbers from our phones are not in that database we won't be able to use WiFi calling or VoLTE.
Makes sense but is ridiculous for AT&T to restrict it. Has anyone ever called to ask to have thier Unlocked IMEI added to this "list" so that these features will work? Seems like it is a disadvantage for AT&T if it works for TMo and now Verizon but not AT&T...?
Just curious...

It's odd for sure. Verizon has always had VoLTE on unlocked too. At least since the S7. Probably before that. ATT has never felt the need to change the policy.

Who can say if it's disadvantageous or not, for all we know it might be the technology differences between the networks. Also it does make sense... having specific IMEI numbers known to connect to carrier specific services like wifi calling and VoLTE ensures that everything works. It doesn't make it convenient for us and I will admit it would be nice to have the features.. but for calling via wifi there are options.
Personally I use pbx in a flash and bria softphone. With the right VoIP provider it's a good setup and doesn't break the bank at all. I haven't even spent more then 5 bucks maybe in a month. For me this is better then wifi calling and I don't have any problems.
As for adding our IMEI to that database I tried inquiring about it, but I do recall reading where some people may have had luck in doing this. I suspect it may require a bit of luck and/or perserveriance after my last discussion with AT&T customer service.
I explained the situation and what needed to be done while being placed on hold a few times. As the call continued I tried to be patient with the person I spoke too, but I admit it is not easy when he is saying that just because I see H data speed that it's actually VoLTE. When I mentioned the speed test and how it was H data speed (and that H data speeds are not VoLTE) he was saying that H data speeds were like blazing fast compared to LTE..
I had to politely finish the call before I either started to laugh or feel sorry for that rep.

The only thing I've seen some people do successfully to get VoLTE working on an unbranded unlocked device is to have AT&T provision a SIM card to an IMEI of a phone that is AT&T branded and capable of VoLTE. Then use that SIM card on the unbranded unlocked device.

I recently purchased this phone unlocked through best buy. How/where can I download Verizon firmware to utilize wifi calling? Google, Verizon and Motorola have ran me on circles trying to solve this.
Bestbuy sells both the unlocked version and the Verizon version. Obviously the Verizon version would work with wifi calling, but what about the unlocked version?

I have the unlocked version and it doesn't come with Wi-Fi calling. It runs only the android 10 software and Google apps for the messages and phone. I found a setting for wifi messages (though I've been having trouble sending and receiving) but no setting in the phone app or the device settings.
I'm hoping if I can find the Verizon firmware to download and enable wifi calling.

Check under the advanced settings in the mobile network settings. If it's not there, then Verizon might be blocking it. Cricket does the same thing, but they'll sometimes enable it for you if you ask nicely.

I have checked under those settings and there is nothing listed as Wi-Fi calling. On VPN and Private DNA.
Would you be able to give a screen shot or write out what you click on to see where out phones differ? Baffling why my phone doesn't not have that option and Verizon has been no help in figuring it out.

Looked in advanced setting under mobile connections no wifi calling choices. Any help would be greatly appreciated
I do not have this phone but i used unlocked phones (3 different ones) on Verizon. Currently a razer 2 on Verizon. If you do not buy a carrier locked phone from them you can not have wifi calling. That is one perk of buying the phone from them. They will let you have volte but thats about it. , No visual voicemail either.
I understand this might be a dumb question, but why is WiFi calling so important? I would have thought most people would use Hangouts, Zoom, Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, or Duo. Any of those effectively provide WiFi calling.

WiFi calling is very handy if you use your phone in places where you might not have reliable cell coverage but do have WiFi (e.g., a basement, etc.). I've never tried it, but that might include an international location where you can't use cell but have access to WiFi.
My carrier is Sprint, and I can verify that the WiFi calling function is present under Settings, Network & Internet, Mobile Network, Advanced, and nestled under "Calling"

It was in a brand new phone yes, but no I don't think it matters. Should be good to go. If anything just restart the phone.
It's also my understanding that Verizon does not allow any Advanced Calling features on a carrier unlocked phone. With my last phone, however (Z4), I was able to flash the VZW image to enable those features on my unlocked phone: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...ng-and-root-with-xt1980-3-on-verizon.3994025/
I just tried a similar process with the Moto G Power. I have a XT2041-4, which I have bootloader unlocked. I then downloaded the VZW rom from lolinet: https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/moto/sofia/official/VZW/
and patched the boot.img using Magisk. I then followed this guide: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/moto-g-power-flashing-guide.4159301/
to flash the VZW image (XT2041-7) onto my XT2041-4 (including the patched boot.img). Fingers crossed.... And bootloop. So I recovered to RETUS via LMSA. But I haven't given up hope yet. Maybe someone else can chime in.
