Strange battery behavior - Xiaomi Poco F1 Questions & Answers

I am on custom rom and i think that my battery has a strange behavior between reboots. Every time i reboot the phone battery percentage increased or decreased for 4-5 %. To explain better i have 42% and after reboot increased to 46%. After other reboot goes at 40% and the to 43%! In battery settings as you can see, i have gaps between reboots. I tried 3 different roms and kernels. Anyone else?
Edit: Add screenshot from gsam battery monitor

Yes, it's present on all custom roms as of now. There is a bug on LOS kernel and its affecting all kernels that are built on LOS kernel source. You can use Derp kernel for now as it decrease the battery very nominal and doesn't act weird (like increase the battery on some reboots).

[Q] HELP, battery reading problems

couple weeks ago, i pulled my battery out when it was at 81% started it back right away and it was 45%, did it again today, it went from 71% down to 29%, my battery reading is tripping, I noticed. MY BATTERY IS HORRID, i lose 1% power per min on the lowest screen brightness display setting, could this have anything to do with this?
side note:
using my battery. battery stats says that my screen is causing 99% drainage.
my buddy battery: my screen is 80% drainage.
bad battery??? it still drains really quick with my buddy's battery, but DOES perform better. but not by much...
another thing, lol..... charging differs. sometimes it can charge like 10% every 10 minutes, and sometimes 30min for 10%.....its just weird. and my phone doesn't last me longer than 10 hours full charge, minimal use.
You may want to look at your battery health under the battery information menu.
Also to better understand and provide support we need to knock out a few things.
What is your current set up? ( rom, kernel, etc)
Have you done a battery calibration at all?
Have you run things like cpu spy to see what apps could be at fault?
All of this can give the community a better picture of what may be going on
Also I pull my battery alot because of testing and sleeps of death and I see very good battery life still. Atm 15 hours @ 72% and I am far from conservative.
SF.UKB.CR.
kernel is the community TSM, battery still was wierd in stock rom, sc 2.9.2, and others.
battery health is good according to spare parts at 3850mv.
currently charging its been at 16% for 10 mins.....

Just FYI, you don't have to do a battery pull when you get SOD. Just hold the volume up and power buttons until you see the samsung logo, then let go. This is a hard reboot of your phone. That will save you battery a little bit as you won't be pulling it as much.

Cyanogenmod 7.2 best ways to save battery...

Good day fellow XDA members. I am currently running an unofficial Cyanogenmod ROM for my Huawei Ideos x3 u8510. So far, I love it! I have already calibrated my battery after flashing the ROM, by charging to 100%, using Battery Calibration from Play Store, letting it drain to 0% and charging it to full nonstop. My situation is the following, my battery still drains after I have calibrated it, (I did it yesterday), when I use the phone. If I don't use it, 1 or 2% drains aprox. every hour or hour and a half. After investigating here and other pages, some say that after calibrating your battery you have to let the ROM settle it after a few days, that way it's life gets better or "more accurate". Ok, I now need patience. My second situation is this, I want to know some of the BEST possible ways to save battery on Cyanogenmod, as battery lasted longer on my Stock ROM. Here are my descriptions:
-Use wireless networks when necessary,
-Brightness all the way down.
-Every basic thing I know.
Ok, those are the basics, but what are the best CPU settings to have the best battery life and at the same time have a fast phone? Here are my current settings:
-Governor: ONDEMAND
-Min CPU: 245 mhz
-Max CPU: 600 mhz
-Compache RAM usage: Disabled.
-Use JIT: Checked
-Enable surface dithering: Unchecked.
-Use 16 bit transparency: Checked
-Scrolling cache: Default enable
-Allow purging of assets: Unchecked
-Disable boot animation: Unchecked
-Lock home in memory: Unchecked
-Lock messaging app in memory: Unchecked.
My current kernel: 2-6-35.7-perf

So, can anybody suggest me the best settings to save battery life and have a good to great perfomance? Please answer, there have been 2 forums I already asked, but no one has answered.
Seriously? No one?

Thanks for your answer, but I forgot to mention something. My battery drains like 1 or 2% every 5 minutes when I use the phone. I wanted to know what SETTINGS or suggestions are best for battery life saving in CM 7.2.
By the way, I flashed a new ROM yesterday, it's very complete! The thing is, when I was charging my battery on the outlet, the indicator showed 89% of battery charged. After that, no more than 30 seconds passed and my phone was charged! Weird huh? So, I left my phone charging for 5 more minutes and then, the indicator showed 89% again with the charger connected! What I did was download Battery Calibration via Play Store, charged to 100%, eliminated batterystats.bin via this apk, and I think my indicator got "fixed".
My question is this, do I really need to recalibrate my battery or what I did was enough? I ask since I read battery calibration is a myth. Is this true? Or do I really need to calibrate it after flashing a new ROM?
Please answer!

cpu settings are subjective for every device i guess. i using vsel formula to calculate it. frequency/20 + 2. and do stability test to make sure the settings are stable.
may i know CM 7.2 from which build? last time i using cm 7.2 fuzz, i had to replace battd file for battery to indicate properly.
i had no idea about the myth because im not expert. batterystats.bin reset itself if you unplugged your device when it full charged.
my suggestion, use for a few cycle and see if any improvement.:good:

Actually, it's an unoffcial ROM I found, but it hasn't been the only one that makes my battery drain. Basically, it's been all custom ROMs I have tried out. I'll take your tip, thanks! :good:

I9100 battery voltage inaccurate/fluctuating. Tried common fixes. Help?

Good day,
I have a I9100 w/ ResurrectionRemix V3.1.3 and Siyah-Dorimanx Kernel V7.34 on Android 4.2.1. I have been using the rom for a few months already but over the last 2 weeks, there has been severe idle battery drain. 11-15%/hr on idle, more if I actually used the phone.
I have tried calibrating my battery (full charge, drain till 0% and re charge). Also tried resetting fuel gauge chip using STweaks. One thing I noticed though, is that when I go to Testing page (dialler > *#*#4636#*#*), the battery voltage fluctuates. After fully charging my phone and turning it on, it states about 3900mv instead of close to 4200mv. Then it continues to be erratic, for example from 3800 to 3960 to 3870 etc. Is this the cause of my severe battery drain and how do I fix this?
Currently battery is at 79% but 3853mv.

Dude,Resurrection Remix is an old ROM,updated last year.Try to find a newer one, like JellyBam 7.8.0.It Android 4.2.2.Also,update Kernel to DorimanX 9.21.These are the latest ones.I'm running these too,and my battery drain is only 6-7 %/hour.
Battery is on the way out. New battery. Losing capacity is a sign of a dying battery.
I have tried 3 different ROMs and 2 batteries. Using Jellybam 7.80 now. All have the same issue. None of them have had better battery life. For example, I can have 70% deep sleep and a discharge rate of 15%/hr. Not long ago I was having 3%/hr at 70% deep sleep. I only use whatsapp mostly. No social networking apps due to their frequent updating.
This leads me to think that it is more likely a hardware fault. Does a faulty charging port PCB result in this problem?
I will post the BetterBatteryStats page of my current charge after 5hrs of idle soon.

[Q] Battery Life Ruined after many custom roms, can't fix it.

I have an att galaxy s3 (d2att) that I got back in March 2013. Over the course of the year I have probably changed my rom about 20-30 times to get the perfect rom. Now my phone's screen time is about 1 hour while just letting it sit with the display on and not running any apps or touching it. Currently running the task650 rom with android 4.4.3. Wiping the battery stats file or running the calibration app does not work. There is no option in my recovery menu under advanced settings to wipe battery stats and a battery calibration app says the battery file does not exist. Sometimes the phone will turn off at about 30% and the reason I believe for that is that the voltage goes down so much. On time I checked it around 35-40% and it was at about 2.5V and then it shut down. When I charge it, it hovers around 3.9-4.3V but when I use it, it starts to go down like crazy. I don't know if I need a new battery or if I should completely factory reset my phone.
Any advice?

A bad battery can be really dangerous. It may have become like this because of bad use or overuse. I would recommend changing it asap
Sent from my SDT-737 using XDA Free mobile app
I don't see how flashing many ROMs could cause your battery life to drop. However the following issues are possible:
1) The ROM you are using has a bug that is causing some type of battery drain. These do happen.
2) You have charged and discharged your battery so many times that it cannot hold a charge anymore. I start noticing battery life decreasing after about 2 years of my usage (generally fairly low). Most times my battery life does not drop below 60% or so. If you very often let it drop very low, I can see the battery life decrease significantly after about a year.

Yea, I can only assume that because I have let it drop so low many times, I might have ruined the cells within. I might just end up buying a new battery. Thanks.

battery drain overnight on poco f1

Hello guys, I have around 8% battery drain overnight on LineageOS 16 official stock kernel. Do you know how to fix this because it takes a lot of my sot?

force stop all apps.
airplane mode on overnight.
i think try malakas kernel and open fk manager close 4/8 cores
I'm also having this problem. Idle Battery drain is very big.
I'm using Franco kernel and kernel manager shows about 1% per hour idle drain.
I think this problem is related to the ROM.

I fix this by updating LineageOS through the updater in the settings. SoT and battery life is amazing now. Only 3% battery drain overnight.
