Nope, Xposed isn;t available for Pie, but you Always can try Magisk with several mods

The Mods from Tulsa provide some nice customization options. I used them to tweak my status bar with a centered clock (Notch off), no GPS icon, text only battery %, and a smaller LTE symbol.

I am new to the world of Magisk. I haven't rooted a phone since SU, and Xposed was the norm, because I have been on the Sammy train the past few years. Is there a repository of mods that work with Magisk, and android Pie?

Check out the thread under pixel 3 xl / mods. The tulsa mods require root via Magisk. They are not magisk modules and are installed via twrp.

So you had Xposed working without SU or Magisk??

Use magisk modules. Xposed is obsolete to magisk.

On the Verizon Sammy s7 Nougat they had a procedure that you'd have to run thru but Xposed worked before root was available. I remember using gravitybox without SU for a few weeks. You'd be able to cook an egg on that phone it got so hot. Magisk didnt work on locked bootloader
