trying to flash TWRP on my S5 but when trying to enter recovery i get "could not do normal boot", "Secure download : Enabled", "UDC start"
looking online people seem to have problems with having Odin not recognise the device or stuck on the bootloading page but my issue is reserved to just not being able to flash the recovery.
I'am still able to flash CF Auto Root and the stock firmware via Odin. also tried to check if my bootloader is unlocked but does not show up as a fastbootable device (i already had twrp 3.0.1 and lineage os 14.1 so i would assume it already is unlocked)
sorry for missing any needed information
Hi , try to flash latest twrp recovery with Odin.
https://eu.dl.twrp.me/klte/twrp-3.2.3-0-klte.img.tar.html
If that doesn't help you flash this stock recovery with Odin , if that doesn't work download latest stock firmware for your device and Region and extract just recovery.img and make it as tar or tar.md5 to be flashable with odin .

So, today i bought my P780, there is preinstalled heweikeji CWM recovery v6.0.4.4, it's also prerooted, but i want to install TWRP recovery and every time when i try it via flash tool it say "pmt changed for the rom; it must be downloaded". I tried also instal twrp via mobile uncle tool, but there is still cwm recovery after reboot. Also it can't make backup, problem: "backing up boot image" and nothing happens long time after that, 10 minutes or more.
How to install custom recovery and how to find out version of firmware? I am not sure it's chinese or ROW? Which ROMs to flash?
Build number: VIBEUI_V2.0_1437_7.14.1_ST_P780
Baseband version: P780.V101, 2014/03/12 15:06
Thanks in advance!
I did it!
HowTo: Full backup with MTK Droid Tools, then in mtkdroidtool make scatter file and use them together with recovery.img (i downloaded ) with sp flash tool (SP_Flash_Tool_v5.1352.01), tried to flash with flash tools 3, but there was error on boot screen (tool DL image fail).
Now TWRP work flawlessy...

Im kinda stuck now and i have no idea what to do moreover im kinda scared to do something, because it can cause more damage that i already have.
im kinda sorry for my horrible english i hope you can understanf this trouble
If you want to proceed back to stock ROM, flash stock FTF using flashtool (download link and instructions can be found inside my signature), with KERNEL and SYSTEM checked, other leave other options intact.
If you want to flash another non-stock ROM, flash an advanced kernel via fastboot toolbox inside the flashtool I mentioned above, then you can flash the ROM using the TWRP inscribed with the advanced kernel.
If you want to proceed to stock ROM but rooted and with other MODs installed, there are two ways to do so:
Easier method:
Flash an advanced kernel then use the pre-installed TWRP to flash the SuperSU.zip or whatever MOD zips.
Complex method:
Restore stock kernel using flashtool mentioned above, then flash the TWRP (recovery) image (you can get one HERE) using a cmd on PC or Laptop with ADB and flastboot drivers installed, typein:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery <recovery>.IMG
then you can boot into the TWRP to flash whatever MODs you want.

Hi, I am using P600 (note 10.1 2014 Wifi) XAR one
Yesterday I was trying to install magisk all day, but failed all
When I rooted device and instaled TWRP, in TWRP it made error number 1 and it says something like turn to stock boot, so I tried to reinstall stock firmware via Odin, but it didn’t change anything.
I guess it’s a problem with boot.img or the autoroot method I used.
So I tried to use fastboot to install TWRP without rooting, but this time it didn’t boot into bootloader from fastboot, it just restarted the tablet all the time.
So I tried to manually reboot into the download mode, but fastboot didn’t recognize the device then.
When I did it, I turnned on the USB debugging with no mistake since it’s just samsung.
So I booted into recovery mode(It can go into recovery mode without problem)
Then tried option “reboot to boorloader” and it just restarts the tablet again.
I guess something corrupted boot.img or bootloader somehow, while I was rooting or something.
Can I get factory boot.img and solve it? Or when I install stock firmware via Odin does it also fix boot.img and boot loader?
I tried to install stock firmwares and factory reset several times. It didn’t help anything. It did unroot or turn the recovery to stock recovery, but couldn’t get into bootloader.
Can anyone please help me or give me advice to solve this problem?
Bump
So, I kind of rooted my device using Kingo Root and it wasn't successful (I guess). So, in fastboot mode, I tried OEM unlock and it didn't work too; but anyway, I flashed TWRP recovery into my phone and through that I tried to install CM 13,14 custom ROMs which was completely unsuccessful. It doesn't allow me to install any ROM. And says that root privilege is lost. And now, all that I have access to is a phone stuck in bootloop and TWRP which doesn't allow me anything to do because apparently root access is lost. :crying:
I tried every method of flashing via YGDP tool and it is stuck at 'entering download mode'. I have installed different drivers over and again to fix as suggested by different threads but still, it's the same. [Windows 8.1] . And is there any other tool to flash this same stock ROM or better, can I get root access again in a bricked device and install a custom ROM any way?:fingers-crossed:
I also have access to ADB sideload via TWRP, so can I get stock ROM in .zip format. So far, I can only find it in .CPB format; maybe I can use .zip stock ROM via ADB sideload to flash it. Please help if any of this is possible.
*Apology for such a long question but I think you guys must know everything in order to provide me with a fix*
It's fixed.

Its fixed now, I assume it was because of the ROM file being downloaded through chrome in phone, I downloaded ROM and GApps in PC and flashed through TWRP and bam! Its back on:laugh:
TWRP - 2.4.4
ROM - Resurrection Remix 5.7.2
Thanks anyways!
For whatever reason I can't budge the tool to flash the latest fastboot ROM on my Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite that I plan to sell since my new phone arrived today. A custom ROM from the last year is currently installed on the device.
I installed the latest Universal ADB drivers, installed the latest Mi Flash tool (2020.3.14.0), put the phone in fastboot mode, connected to PC via USB 2.0 port and tried to flash the latest fastboot stable ROM via the tool with "clean all" option and most of the time what happens when I hit the flash button, the fastboot logo on the phone disappears and in the left top corner a small white text "hit any button to restart" or something like that appears. Only once a progress bar appeared with $fastboot bla bla bla II echo missmatching image and device" and that was it... no progress, again the white text prompting me to hit any button to restart appeared on the screen.
Any ideas what I am doing wrong? cmonBruh
Phone: Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite 64/4 Global (platina with custom ROM installed) Windows 10 Pro 1909, MSI B350M Bazooka with AMD Ryzen 5 2600.
Hello.. I will try to help you.. And tell me if you fixed that..
Can you install a custom recovery? Twrp?
Id you can do that fallow my steps..
First download the fallowing twrp from here :
https://drive.google.com/file/d/14cRc4UG4hzL45cDhdFZ7odr5Kb8LSai0/view
It can support ota update and your phone will boot I used it to flash my mi 8 lite without pc. And works!
Download and flash that twrp using mi flash tool. I hope your bootloader is unlocked if you already have other twrp installed simply flash the twrp zip file. And update your recovery. If you don't have any twrp installed simply rename. Zip file into .img file and flash it with flash tool. If you can't flash it using flash tool try to install any other twrp and then install the zip and update the twrp
After you installed twrp go and download recovery Rom from here :
https://mirom.ezbox.idv.tw/en/phone/platina/
Download the first rom called : V11.0.2.0.QDTMIXM (1.8GB zip file)
( Recovery
miui_MI8LiteGlobal_V11.0.2.0.QDTMIXM_5574e03233_10.0.zip

Link
Download (Download to Mi Router)
Press download. Not download to mi router and don't forget.. Download the recovery zip file not the fast boot update!
After you downloaded boot in to twrp which I gave you above, wipe system / data / vendor / cache/dalvik and flash the zip file.
You can flash it with and without to wipe anything. But it is recommended to wipe. Pls go try and install it without to wipe anything, if it works ( for me works!) after flash done boot the phone and see if there is any problem. If u got any bugs or problems perform a clean flash wipe all and then flash!
Id you want root.. Fallow this :
You can root your phone with latest magisc manager using the same twrp. After you flash the boot.img with twrp press restart phone. If it won't restart go again to recovery and format only your data. And your will phone will boot again and you will get root acces. It's the only way to root android 10.
Please let me know if you fixed that problem.. And you flashed successfully the Rom..
DON'T FLASH THE ROM USING ANOTHER TWRP! ONLY THAT RECOVERY I GIVE SUPPORT OTA UPDATE AND CAN BYPASS THE XIAOMI Verification FOR THE STOCK ROM.. IF YOU USE ANY OTHER TWRP YOUR PHONE WILL BE STUCK IN Boot! Orange fox or any other twrp won't work!
I used this method and works like a charm
