I didnot get the night camera and the speed is not good with this rom
Let me get this. This is a Pixel 3 XL rom for some xiomi phone. And you expect it to run as fast as the shipped rom Without modifying the code.It doesn't work like that kiddo.I know the ROM's been ported meaning it'd run but it doesn't mean it's optimized for whatever hardware or kernel you're using.

Brother pixel3 xl rom's bandwidth is not good as my own rom miui9
If you can increase the bandwidth it will be good because the net speed is decreased after flashing the rom

I'm using my RN3 mostly for mobile MOBA Games like mobile legends and Heroes Evolved. I already tried using RR Rom but I went back to stock MIUI 8.1.6.0. The reason I flashed my phone back to MIUI because of the spike lags I'm experiencing while gaming on RR Rom, Flashed RADON Kernel but the issue still persist. Can anyone please help me suggest a custom rom for my RN3 with less ram and battery usage but still good for gaming. Anyways my phone is XIAOMI Redmi Note 3 2GB RAM/16GB ROM. Any suggestion will be gladly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Hi,
I just wanted to know how does the mobile compares to the note 5 in terms of customization? I mean is there something like Knox in xiaomi phones which hinders rooting ? are there good custom ROMs that are close to stock as I seeing that many are using cyanogen mod and I don't want to use it.Are there any drawbacks I should know about? and finally, will this device have a good lifetime or will it stop receiving updates after a year or so? and if no then what device would you recommend ? Does it support Qualcomm quick charge ? will I lose the miui features if I use any of the custom roms ?
Here are a few things I like to highlight when people ask if they want to buy this phone
1. The camera SUCKS SO BAD. it gets even WORSE when you use custom ROMS
2. The custom ROMs will always be buggy because XIAOMI does not release the FULL codes/source for us to be able to have non-buggy custom ROMs
3. There are two ways to get updates; a. via stable ROM that gets updated like twice a year and b. Via developer/beta ROM that gets updated every week. You will get updates but XIAOMI is known to not upgrade the android version (like from marshmellow to nougat) but you will get updates just not android version updates.
4. Usually you will lose a few XIAOMI/MIUI features if you use custom ROMs (due to xiaomi not releasing full/complete source code)
5. You will need to ask permission to unlock bootloader and then root (takes around 1 week/3days to get it approved) and the process can be a hit or miss
6. No quickcharge. The Redmi Note 4 takes around 2 hours and 15 minutes from 1% to 100%
IF YOU WANT INSANE BATTERY LIFE get the REDMI NOTE 4X THAT IS BASED ON SNAPDRAGON 625 SOC
IF YOU WANT A LITTLE BIT MORE PERFORMANCE BUT SACRIFICE 50% BATTERY LIFE (COMPARED TO REDMI NOTE 4X) GET THE REDMI NOTE 4 BASED ON THE MTK HELIO X20
THE REDMI NOTE 4 HELIO X20 MTK IS KNOWN TO HAVE SOME HEATING ISSUES. IT CAN LAG IN GAMES DUE TO IT.
THE REDMI NOTE 4X SNAPDRAGON 625 DOES NOT HAVE THIS ISSUE BUT SACRIFICES LIKE 10% PERFORMANCE BUT ALMOST WITH ZERO GAMES LAG DUE TO ITS POWEREFFICIENT PROCESSOR
Hope this has helped you in any way
My opinion: For the price, there is no other better phone than the REDMI NOTE 4X SNAPDRAGON 625 but you will have to live with the bad camera (terrible in low light and indoors, decent in well lit environment) and possibility of not getting android version upgrades
. But you will get a snappy phone with very good battery life (10 hours screen on time form 2 days from 1 full charge).

-There custom roms based on stock miui. Check for Xiaomi.eu
-It does not support quickcharge right now. After kernel sources are released you will get almost qc 2.0(constant 2,5A charge)
-Xiaomi will release android 7 for this device but you will get miui 9-10-11 updates for 3 years.
-Rooting and unlocking is not that hard. No knox or any program to count that.

should I buy though the redmi note 4 or note 4x both are snapdragon variants?
xiaomi.eu doesn't seem to work for me btw
what is the best situation for the the phone ? I mean are there certain benefits to being rooted on stock ? or is there some good stock like custom rom or hybrid ones I should use like I dunno linage os ?
I don't know if my question is clear enough or not but what I mean is which of the choices I mentioned offers th best stability and gets the latest features ?

Thanks for your comprehensive reply,
What is the stable rom that gets updated twice a year and is there a difference between the 4 and 4x both having snapdragon processor?

The Redmi Note 4 in general refers to the Redmi Note 4 MTK that is sold in China
The Redmi Note 4X is the snapdragon Version sold in CHINA
but
In certain countries, like Malaysia, where they dont sell the Redmi Note 4 MTK, the Snapdragon version is called Redmi Note 4. In Hong Kong the snapdragon version is called The Redmi Note 4, too, which makes it a little bit confusing.
@op is you never used miui rom my first advice to you go to Youtube and see miui 8 video some people like miui some hate it personally i hate miui too much so using custom rom.
In custom rom no bug at all just camera is not good compare to stock rom.
Rooting rn4 take apporx 10-15 days.

Check the link below. It explains rn 4 qualcom vs rn 4x
As a summary 4x supports more lte bands. Buy 4x.
http://en.miui.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=524344&extra=page=2&mobile=2
I suggest this device to you because it gives really good value for price.
Custom roms which based on miui is really close to stock rom. Always you have lineage option.
Miui is better on visuality and animations.
Lineage is better on performance. You have theme support as well. You can change visuality(menus, settings, status bar) to sony, samsung or huawei style.
Advantages of being rooted are removing ads, changing cpu freqs for better battery or performance. Double tap to wake, double tap to sleep options available when you are rooted.
I am buying a new phone and I am not sure whether to get the note 4 with its bigger battery and install a custom rom on it (I can never use miui) or just get the A1 shipped with the vanilla android, are rn4's custom roms stable and smooth or the builds are not that good? Will the A1 be faster than rn4 with lineage or rrn for example? I like RN4 more because of the bigger battery, I don't mind the camera at all.
I also knew there are some rn4s that have mic issues as well as dead pixels, is that true?
if for custom roms for mido then most of them are stable and can be used as daily driver. And about the dead pixels i think it is true as my phone too some. I think it is the problem with mido bought from flipkart. So you can buy from mi.com.

What about the in call mic in custom roms? I know they did fix the issue with latest versions of miui, by tweaking the noise cancelation algorithm, is that present on custom roms?

i didnt experience any problem with call mic in custom roms. It works fine.
and what about a signal drop when phone is charging and being heated up in custom roms?
If you like the looks of a1 go with that, else RN4 checks every box with a custom ROM. Even camera is far better with the Google camera.
Also performance is silky smooth , I am using Paranoid Android 7.3 currently, everything works fine and battery life is also good.

I like the RN4 more because of the bigger battery but what frightens me most actually is the in call mic problems, I saw thousands of people complaining about it on forums, if my unit happens to be affected, do custom roms solve it or I will have to stick on miui newest version because it has the noise cancellation disabled?
Go with A1. A1 battery is good. You won't regret
Look, am not sure about mi a1 when it comes to development due to its A/B partition and etc stuffs. You won't see much development I guess.
If you look properly there has been a port of mi a1 stock Rom for redmi note 4 snapdragon variant just posted. It's been confirmed by Xiaomi on its Mi a1 launch event that mi a1 will get official oOreo by end of this year. So, choice is yours. If you want stock with latest otas everytime then mi a1, if youre a custom Roms lover then mido.
I installed pixel experience custom rom on my redmi 5 plus. I like to play pubg and i must say it was far better than miui. Colors were deeper and picture was clear. In miui its picture its not that good. How is that possible can someone explain me?
This happens because of kcal, many roms have different kcal configurations
So I have a redmi note 5 (vince) which i bought a few years ago from India. During lockdown, I got tired of MIUI, and decided to unlock bootloader and flash Pixel Experience. What I found is that I got a horrible gaming experience, and it took a decent amount of space.
Can anyone help me find a good gaming rom, with low ram usage? PE is pretty bad in terms of memory allocation etc.
Stock china miui is the best but add my tweaks for smoother experience from here https://forum.xda-developers.com/f/xiaomi-redmi-note-5-5-plus-themes-apps-and-mod.7422/ why would i recommend ? Because not only i tried pixel rom but also havoc, miui 12 ports , bliss os, lineage. etc they all have same problem and that is performance degrade and buggy roms.
