I'm planning on getting a Honor 8x for a family member. I own a Galaxy S8 with a disabled navigation bar and xda's navigation gestures up and running. I'd like to have this on the 8x, too. As it seems there should be an update with gestures directly from Honor, but obviously it's not out yet.
So: is there a way to disable the software navigation bar on the 8x to use the navigation gestures app - not just hide it, because using gestures would trigger the hidden bar to pop up?!

Hi,
If you buy a new Honor 8X, you will have an upgrade to EMUI 8.2.0.
This EMUI has gestures so your navigation will be without the white bars.
This happens to me after buying my Chinese device [emoji16]

Goto Settings->System->System navigation->Disable the navigation gestures.

Goto Settings->System->System Navigation->Disable navigation gestures.

What app do you use to hide navigation buttons? She likes capacitive buttons under the screen but this phone doesn't have them

As no hardware Button, we need soft navbar. But you can:
-Hide navbar depending on the app you are on.
It is called expanded desktop.
For example on launcher hide statusbar and navbar
-Use pie control to only show nav Button when needed.
It is called pie settings.
Here exemple crdroid, but dotos shall have it too.
Well, my phone, has already an option to add small 'v' symbol on the left side of navigation panel. Pressing it hides it. To show it again just swipe up from the bottom of the screen.
It is in Options > Smart Assistance > Navigation bar > Navigation bar (switch).

Is there anyway to get a gesture based navigation for the Huawei mate 10 pro like there is on the Oneplus 5T?
I have seen that there are apps that can do that but I have not yet found a way to reliably hide the navigation bar. Always comes back up when you pull up from the bottom of the screen.
I use Edge Gestures in the app store. It's perfect. In fact I have been meaning to make a post on the perfect one handed system involving Edge Gestures. On Google Play.

I use mate 10 non Pro. I have navigation bar enabled but hidden. I only swipe up to see it I I need to use it. Otherwise I navigate with all gestures.
Hello Guys.
I am in love with the Gesture Control on the iPhone X.
An App called OnePlus Gestures can do the same.
But the Thing is. Even If i use Apps to disable the nav bar, IT appear Sometimes when i swipe Up to left an App.
Do someone has an Idea how to complety disable the Nav bar ?

I just rooted my S7+ and everything works fine.
Now I activated the "old" navigation bar, because I don't like the gestures on such a big screen.
My problem is that there is no hide-button and only "fullscreen-apps" hide the navigation bar automaticly.
I want to decide when to hide the bar. On my Huawei Mediapad I have an extra hide-button to do that.
Has someone a solution for me?
I already tried Gravitybox (R) and some PlayStore-Apps, no success.
There is a Good Lock module. Check this video. It might be helpful.
