I installed the following ROM on my k5 vibe: https://forum.xda-developers.com/k5-plus/development/aospextended-rom-v4-1a6020-aosp7-2-1r4-t3591522
Whatsapp statuses, gifs and videos and instagram videos and stories do not perform, they freeze. What do I do?
Only the videos directly in those applications freeze. The videos from the internal memory of the phone can be played by the mx player.
The gapps installed was nano version.

It might be me, but since both my Galaxy Note and S2 have OTA upgrades to ICS4.04 they refuse to play a number of video files that they DID play before.
Is this a feature. It affects all AVI and some MP4 - but I have played them in earlier software versions
Both phones unrooted
Download MXPlayer from the Play Store and this should enable you to play your videos. However, I am on 4.0.4 and I can play all the video files that you listed.

If I were you I would:
- wipe cache and dalvik cache. See if that solved the problem. If not, then:
- download my firmware from sammobile.com, do a full wipe and then flash it. If still not:
- nope
DoWnload mx videoplayer from here :https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mxtech.videoplayer.ad&hl=en
And do not forget to download arm v7 codec of mx player ( forget about stock player , and. no this app doesnt require root)

Thx u all

I got the same problem on my friend's 101
Is there are any solution?
I know this is a really old thread, but it's one of the few relevant search results - so here's an update. You need to have a default browser that can play Flash automatically. The only one that's installed successfully on my 101 g8 is Opera Mobile (not Mini.) Check in Settings that the automatic Flash option is checked. Then navigate to YouTube and play something. If you get an error, reinstall Flash from the Adobe archive. (scroll down to Android 2-3.) Reboot, and you should be good to go.
After this, your YouTube app will work properly. So will your TV apps and suchlike
Guys I have a 4.3 Stock GNA5 version S3.
Whenever I open the stock video player, it force closes and says "Unfortunately, video has stopped".
But If i try to open the videos via Gallery of QuickPic, and when I select the Stock Video player to play the video, it works flawlessly.
Only problem is the Stock Video Player app doesn't open.
Steps I've already tried :
-> I already cleared the data and cache from the Application Manager several times.
-> I rebooted the phone several times.
-> I went into the stock recovery and did "wipe cache partition" too.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

I think you have unsupported / corrupted video in the device, so when the video player launches and tries to analyze the vid for quick preview, it fails and crushes.
I suggest removing all your vids from device (internal & external) and trying again

I just installed the official cm11 rom 4.4.2 2-26 nightly on my XT912, and everything is working great except that Google Play Music and Apollo are not reading the music I have on my SD card. I can open up the file manager that came with the rom amd navigate to my SD Card, open my music folder and select a song, choose to open it with Play Music and it will play just fine on the mini player that pops up on the screen. When i go and open the actual Play Music App it doesnt see any of the files though, same thing with Apollo. I have tried uninstalling gPlay Music and Apollo and reinstalling, but that did not fix the issue. I also downloaded several apps that are supposed to force the phone to scan the sd card, still no luck. Can anyone help me with this? I couldnt post in the development forum because this is my first post.
I am trying to install flash player with no success using websites via google search. I have probably installed 20 versions of flash player now. Including ones from these forums that appears to be up to date.
I am using a Motorola Moto G LTE, stock, unrooted with Kitkat 4.4.3.
I do not know if I am doing something wrong or Im getting old versions of the flash player. I have used guides that claim to be working for kitkat. They all are as follows.
Download Dolphin
Download jetpack
Enable jetpack
Enable unknown
Instal flash player, been installing it from the apk file with ES and not through the browser. Dont know if this matters.
Force flash through Dolphin
Download SWF player
When I try to play a sample flash movie in SWF player it tells me "flash player not found" It also suggests to download AIR but AIR wants to spy on me. Google is spying on me enough and I dont know if my flash movie is compatible with it.
So I ask if someone could please point out my error.
