Thank you I will try this weekend!

I read the procedure but I do not speak English (I use google translate)
For now I'm waiting 72 hours to unlock my bootloader.
But I do not understand when to flash the custom rom.
I repeat the procedure:
Download and Use Orangefox latest recovery. (Recommended)
Download the latest build GApps
Reboot to recovery
Flash the latest build GApps
Reboot
If on setup wizard system ui fc, just bypass it.
I do not understand the last sentence
Thanks for your help

It´s just a matter to do a comprehensive reading, over what are you going to install Gapps before to install the rom? you need first to have installed a rom to can install the Gapps or any other mod.
This is the procedure:
- Install OrangeFox recovery using adb commands and reboot to it https://forum.xda-developers.com/re.../official-orangefox-recovery-project-t3807479
- If you are going to install a rom without gapps like this https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-5/development/pie-arrow-os-redmi-note-5-t3853243 install it first and....
- Now install Gapps if you want a minimum then choose pico https://opengapps.org
- Also you can install a rom with Gapps included so no need to reinstall it https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-5/development/rom-pixel-experience-t3864136
- Flash the firmware https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=11410963190603850663
- Flash Magisk last stable to root it https://www.xda-developers.com/magisk-v17-1-android-pie-a-b-support/
- Reboot

good evening
Thank you very much it's clearer.
I'm waiting for the unlock of my bootloader and I'm testing

Hello
I managed to install my custom rom

ok so you need to follow the guide on this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2598051
because there isn't a new build of ClockworkMod recovery, which is required to properly flash kitkat, we have to flash cm11 a bunch of times in order for it to work. again, follow the guide.
also you have to have the proper files before flashing. refer to this guide for the files and how to flash them: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1238070
if you can't understand these things, i'm sorry but you shouldn't be trying custom ROMs.

Installing ROM from MIUI 8 Global Beta

I am new to xda so apologies for simple question. I am currently running MIUI 8 Global Beta 6.7.21
Can I install a custom rom in place of this? If so what is the easiest method?
Thanks
Yes, you can install different ROM's. Search up WinDroid on XDA, download it, install TWRP 3 and pick out whichever ROM you prefer.

First, you need to root your phone, try King Root or installing the Chinese ROM which comes with built-in root, you can do this from the updater without needing root.
Then install Flashify from the play store and dowload TWRP recovery for Redmi Note 2 from this forum. Flash the recovery with the Flashify app, it's pretty straightforward.
Then you just need to download your custom ROM of choice and reboot to the recovery. Before flashing a custom ROM, backup is recommended. Just follow the instructions given in the ROM topic and you're good to go.

rom 77.1 and malware

i've this rom on my redmi3 bougth from MI-Italia.
It worked fine from June until a few days ago when it starts automatically browser with strange pages of download or porno. If I press Home it works well, but after pages come back.
So I would install a good rom.
I've not yet requested unblock to xiaomi (how can i do it?) and i've seen some guide to install a global rom with italian.
But I'm afraid to make mistakes cause in this time i need phone, so i'm searching any other way to resolve issue.
If I make backup, then factory reset, then restore to my backup, maybe issue would be resolved?
Any other suggest?
thanks

You can install official Xiaomi Global rom with MiFlash. 77.1 rom is sellers modified rom, I recommend change it as fast as you can. Have you got Redmi 3 on Android 5.1? If yes download first rom.
.......
You only have to install rom in download rom, not in fastboot rom, becouse you have locked bootloader.

You might need to install "lazyflasher" after installing custom recovery. Search this forum for "lazyflasher-no-verity-opt-encrypt.zip")

Indeed, you will need to root again after any ROM update, regardless of recovery or Magisk/Supersu (unless the ROM is pre-rooted).

There is something called personal preference.
Just like you prefer MIUI some others prefer custom ROMs
Firmware taken from the latest global firmware HM5AGlobal-V10.1.1.0.NCKMIFI-7.1 and HM5AGlobal-V10.1.2.0.OCKMIFI-8.1
TWRP in the archives PE-RecoveryProject-3.1 (for the recovery we say thank you Zikiel )
Switch from 7 to 8, Flash Archive Firmware-8.1 RecoveryProject-3.1-Oreo from the recovery; reboot into the recovery; clean up the corresponding sections and install the firmware, root and patches according to your desire; and in the same order from 8 to 7, flash Firmware-7.1 RecoveryProject-3.1-Nougat reboot in recovery cleaning and installing firmware. It is better to stir archives on a memory card and for features and differences in Firmware recovery for 7 does not see the date section from 8

Why are these custom ROMs not compatible with Oreo Firmware??
Edit: I am planning to compile a ROM for the first time. All I have ever done is to compile recovery(For Redmi 5A) where they are compatible with Oreo firmware(just like other recoveries).

Nobody has worked on the oreo sources yet so...
@sunnyraj84348 might be working on it, I don't know, I'm just assuming. Maybe he's focusing on Android 10 ROMs more than Oreo kernel.

Working on a custom rom is very time consuming. Till now I am still trying to create a device tree for my Mi cc9 so that I can make a ROM alongside with the sources provided.(I'm new to things like compiling roms)

Good luck with your project ?
[ i'm noob ] Does orange fox recovery working properly on miui 11 ? Unfortunately,i was update my riva to miui 11,succed to unlock bootloader but not with twrp, when i was flash twrp via fastboot, twrp just show up red screen then dim to black screen & only vibrate when touched. I was forgot to add command delete recovery from fastboot, before flashing twrp. Please help, any suggest to proper twrp at stock miui 11 global stable ? Sorry for bed english.
Not work properly when downgrade from MIUI 11 Oreo, now i experience messed up with stock miui rom,try to reverse back with flash full recovery rom from twrp, succed to flash, but when boot into setup wizard, error message appear,eg; "miui daemon has stopped, under that pop up,again error pop up "google service framework has stopped" > "xiaomi service framework has stopped" > "setting has stopped" & bla...bla..bla...! I can't pass setting wizzard, can't continue to normal screen. Then i flash pixel xperience rom 9.0,flawlessly boot until setting wizard done, run smoothly without error. Usually i like to change between custom then stock rom from twrp when i was bored with 1 rom. But now i'm stuck on pixel experience 9.0 (caf) & no twrp working properly when want to flash stock miui oreo.
