Pie Beta OTA updates after manual side-load - Samsung Galaxy S9+ Questions & Answers

To clarify - UK Exynos model
I manually loaded the original beta software (beta 1 aka ZRKA) before the Beta program opened. When it opened I signed up and assumed I would be then get the updates automatically as I was installing an OTA update. However I did not receive the beta 2 or hotfix (ZRKN) updates and had to load them manually.
1) Were the updates pushed out to others in the UK or was it delayed?
2) Should I be able to get OTA updates without having to sideload each time?
3) If I can't get OTA updates, how can I go back to Oreo to join the program properly?
Thanks for your help!

You wont get any ota because in odin mode kg state is checking. You need oreo odin fw and upgrade to pie from ota. That way you can get ota in the future.
Just dl oreoand flash it, open members app and check if you are registered. You will get pie beta ota.

[Q] Prime not getting OTA after manual update

I have installed 9.4.2.11.1 manually from HoneyCome
I have no issue with freezes or lockups, but I realized It stopped giving me an OTA updates.
While some people are getting .14 update, I am still on 11.1 and even when I check for an update, Prime says there is no update for me.
Is it because I manually updated my prime? If so, how do I get OTA update back?
You are on a beta build of sorts so the actual firm ware updates don't recognize your Build # as one that needs to be updated.
What you need to do is manually up date to a current Build # and get back in the loop. I just did this myself, here are the steps. It's easy and only takes a little time.
Go to the Asus firmware download site.
http://support.asus.com/download.aspx?SLanguage=en&p=20&s=16&m=Eee+Pad+Transformer+Prime+TF201&os=&hashedid=FqCKMQDqgvSncfFM
Download the firmware update for version 13.
Then follow the instructions here to manually update (you probably already know this since you are on 11.1
http://service.asus.com/infopage.aspx?rid=18
You'll update and be on version 13 and your Prime will now "see" OTAs.
Check for firmware updates, it will say there is a new version and it will start to download 14.
ta-da!! You (and I) are back in the loop for OTAs

Can't update firmware, please help

Hi all,
I'm trying to update firmware on my Droid DNA. Currently I have firmware version 2.08.605.1, the latest before the last OTA update. Now i want to use RUU to try to update to version 3.06.605.4. It fails with error that I got wrong RUU, but I'm positive it is a correct one, because it shows firmware version. OTA updates are not working, showing me no updates. However, under Software update -> Status I see that the update was rejected by user some time ago. As far as I know there must be an option to install rejected updates, but it simply isn't there. Not sure what to do next. Please, help.

Nevermind now, I resolved the issue by first gaining s-off and then using the alternative method for firmware flash by using adb and fastboot in cle that can be found here on forums easily (latest ota for DNA).

Failed OTA Lollipop

Just purchased a used 6806. It is running what appears to be stock 4.4.4. I had to remove root by clearing it in the SuperSU app so I can install my corporate email - I don't require root normally. That worked fine, but both before and after "un-rooting", the OTA update, which I get a notification about, fails before installing. Any easy way to verify what needs changed, or is the solution to use flashtool to flash the latest? If so, will this further allow OTA updates to complete in the future?
Update - while the direct download OTA failed, I was successful installing the update using the Sony PC Companion Windows software.

Downgrade S9+ from 9.0 beta to 8.0

I have a verizon model SM-G965U (Snapdragon). A few weeks ago, I was able to follow this upgrade sequence to get Pie:
G965USQU3BRI9 to G965USQU3BRJ5
G965USQU3BRJ5 to G965USQU3ZRJ8
So now I am currently stuck on G965USQU3ZRJ8. I am attempting to upgrade it to the latest Pie release which is G965USQU3CRKD (November 19 2008). However, when I try to update the firmware via download mode / adb sideload update.zip, it fails because it expects the BRJ5 model.
So, my only option it seems to sideload the update is to first downgrade back down to BRJ5. How can I downgrade this firmware, or would it be easier to flash the latest updates via odin another way? I am clueless, please help a disgruntled user stuck in the wrong version of Pie.

You may install the required Android Oreo build first, and then update using ADB sideload to Pie.
This may help you - Download Galaxy S9 Pie.

That does not help at all. It simply repeats the steps I have already taken. If it were as easy as reversing these steps I would not post this topic. It was easy to upgrade, but downgrading is not as simple.
I already have Pie, I don't want vague upgrade instructions. I specifically want to go back to Oreo.
Use Odin to downgrade to Oreo. It's been covered many times in the beta thread. There should be a link in there for a lower version then you'll need to patch to BRJ5 and then the latest Beta.
