Go to wipe
Press format data
Type YES to format
This will decrypt and erase ur data partition and internal storage.
So take backup of internal sd if any before format data.

Have u ever tried format data command before?
If u never tried do it.
Format data and wipe data r 2 different things.
Why u want fastboot rom. No need.
Check this first.

f2fs crashes and hangs

When I'm using ext4 it is absolutely fine but when I use f2fs apps start to crash, everything freezes and eventually nothing responds, what could be the problem? (I have reverted back to ext4 for the time being)
Before telling me, I am using a ROM and Kernel which support f2fs.
The partitions were /data and /cache
Bump
Reformat everything and flash again I am using f2fs too no such probs

Did you format (- format - not just wipe) the data partition? (by the way, this will also erase your internal storage - so you first need to backup all the files in your internal storage).

I use migrate.
Migrate will work for apps and contacts etc. but not for personal files like photos, videos etc. I don't know of any app which does that. Only backup/copy to PC and restore.

I use Google backup to backup my app list installed from Play Store and also contacts etc. Then I use Swift Backup to backup apps with data and apps that isn't available in PS. For photos and videos etc, you can just use SD card or transfer through PC or sync with Google Photos. Or you can just skip wiping internal storage everytime flashing new rom.

Something is wrong either with your setup or the way you flash. It is not necessary to wipe internal storage everytime you flash a ROM. Looks to be an encryption/decryption issue. Unless you have an incompatible TWRP (which should usually handle encryption/decryption), you should not face this. Wiping/formatting internal storage may be required occasionally like when people try to flash the OOS Pie.
Did you ask in the ROM thread?

So here's the thing. Your fone comes naturally with encryption. You go and turn it off by flashing DFE. Then you make a booboo by forgetting to flash DFE after you update vendor/firmware. And now you're sol. Avoid the problem, don't use DFE. If you want to move to a different from, back up your data to external drive, do your fresh install and restore your data as needed. That's what I do and have never had any problems.

ok thanks for clearing it up. However, if i were to not flash DFE on the next update of pixel experience and subsequent updates, will i lose all my data on the next update upon completion of encryption process?

If you've already flashed DFE, you need to remember to flash it immediately after flashing vendor/firmware next time. If you only update PE without updating vendor/firmware you should be fine. Note that in many instances these days updating PE requires updating vendor/firmware, therefore you may need to flash DFE if and only if you already use it. In my case I'm encrypted, therefore all I need to do flash vendor/firmware and PE. I don't use DFE.
Hope this clears the air.

[URGENT] Phone stuck on Just a Sec screen, HELP !

I am using Redmi Note 4 SD625. I was easily running AEX {9.0}, without any problems.
I decided to switch to HavocOS. After installing the zip, and also Gapps {pico}, my phone got stuck on Just a Sec screen after Language Selection. I already tried using different ROMS, clearing Internal Storage, Formatting Data using TWRP, but nothing is working. I really need to get this device going. Please Help. Also, my phone's system UI keeps crashing while on Just a Sec Screen [ black screen and then instant refresh of notification panel]. Is this something to do with my gaps? Please help.:crying:

Just try it once more.
1. Update your TWRP. Use OrangeFox 9 which you can find here. Boot into your recovery and install OrangeFox:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/re...-orangefox-recovery-project-t3775933?&ampcf=1
2. Update your firmware. Most people prefer firmware 9.6.1.0 which you can find here. Just flash it in OrangeFox recovery:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/xi..._V9.6.1.0.NCFMIFD_2ffa61cdd6_7.0.zip/download
3. Download the ROM and GApps you want to use and save them to your SD card.
4. Boot into recovery and make all the necessary wipes (Internal, Data etc) and also format "Data". You will have to type "YES"
5. Install the ROM you want to use, install GApps and reboot your phone

You can use internal storage as well.
After you do all the wipes, you will need a computer and can then copy the ROM and GApps to internal storage.
Using a SD card, you won't need a computer.

Maybe it's a problem with the ROM you are using?
You can try to remove your Sim cards. Remove your Sim cards, do the setup and once everything works, put them back it.

If system UI keeps crashing, you probably didn't wipe your system before flashing a new ROM.
In OrangeFox go to:
Wipe - Advanced Wipe
and select everything except external storage and "Cust"
then swipe to wipe
After that go back to:
Wipe - Format Data
type "Yes" and format Data.
After that is done, flash the ROM and GApps right afterwards.

Wipe - Format Data and type yes.
After that works, wipe everything and install the ROM and GApps.
Alternatively, Wipe and then "Swipe to Factory Reset" like in the screenshot attached.
If this doesn't work, maybe there's a problem because you encrypted your phone. Maybe this will help then:
