I have a zenfone 4 (ZE554KL) running Oreo. I have 4 "home" screen pages; the left-most is nominally "home"; that's where the phone starts.
If I swipe right from that "home" page, I get the Google search page - is there any way to turn this off? My guess is that it's an Asus thing since my old Samsung (also running Oreo) doesn't do this . . .

This was answered on the asus.com/zentalk forum: From the ZenUI, Preferences->Home Screen->Scrolling Mode allows you to remove the Google Search page from the home screen scroll

When I press the start button the start menu is Black and only shows the contents once i press up or down.
Is there a fix for this. I have searched all over the forum. (Is there a way of using google search just on this forum rather than the entire site?)

What do you mean press up or down? A screenshot would be helpful.

There is an option Search this thread right above your message. (see attachment).
The start menu drops down but it is totally Black. Solid.
Only the search at the top of the page uses google. The other search uses the useless forum search tool.
Is there anything in \windows\start menu\programs? There should be the shortcuts for your programs (set at
Start -> Settings -> Menus).
Yes, It is odd, as soon as I press the direction pad on the phone all the items suddenly appear.
I am also getting this problem. I just recently installed and ran MemMaid. I did a quick fix thing, and optimised my DLLs, could that be what is effecting it?
I have just solved my problem. In the System tweaks area of MemMaid, I checked the two boxes 'Animate Windows' and 'Animate Menus'. When I unchecked these, my start menu now displays correctly.
Thanks Nalixor, sorted me out as well
Can this be done? I am coming from a Nexus 4, and i use google now and search so often its scary to have to go in and actually create an icon for it. Wondering if i can get to it via HOME button?

When I long press the home button, I get a window for Google that says "Type or Speak", but it is not marked google Now in my apps drawer. Not sure if this helps.
Long pressing home brings up Google Now.

Hi, I have the Nexus 5 with 4.4.2 , I'm new with Android, my phone is rooted
I recently made the "buttons" disappear adding a line in the build.prop file and instaled LMT to have a pie,but the problem is that in Google Chrome, the Settings/Menu Button in the top right (the one with three little boxes) disappeared.
Does somebody know how to make this button appear?

Just make one of your Pie options the Menu button. Easier and more convenient without having to reach all the way to the top.

My device is S6 edge tmobile. There is a circle setting button always showed up when some app's open. It''s totally useless and sometime makes the screen not working. I know some Tom disable this feature but I just want to know how to do that. Screen shot is here. Anyone knows how ?

Tools toggle -swipe down, uncheck tools toggle.
S6 only has 3 buttons. Multi tasking, home and back.. Android has a 4th button for settings and the floating 3 dots is the 4th buttons and only appears when an app has it in its code for the 4 settings button.
Other android phones that have on screen buttons also has this as part of the navigation

Are you sure you don't mean the white circle with 3 dots on the right of the screen
Yeah I mean it.. Sorry. But I know some rom can disable it. like VN 3.0. This button really buzzy me.
It's part of Lollipop for apps that haven't updated to the fact phones don't have hard menu button. App needs to be updated by Dev.

Not possible
This button acts as a replacement for the hardware menu button on older devices.
thats the menu button
My android phone is not response for touch on the middle right of screen.

This happen to both off my phone Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy S6 edge running Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.
After reboot the phone will work fine, but after a few minutes or hour it will happen again.
Anyone have the same problem, or anyone know how to fix this?
Come to update that the problem is from the "Moment" app by facebook
Solution: goto "application management"
Select "App that can appear on top"
Then Disable permission on "Moment"
