Hi guys i would like to shoot in raw with the tele photo lens.
But on the stock camera is impossibile to use the raw format.
And in the other apps where you can use the raw format is impossible to choose the 2nd lens.
Do you know how can i do that?

it seems that this test is not enough for raw compatibility
Open Camera which support raw storage don't propose it for A5 2017
AZ Camera propose to store raw, jpeg, raw+jpeg, but when raw is selected no file is generated
Abetter Camera also not propose this storing format
I think that A5 2017 don't support raw storing like already indicated in review

it depends of the software used.
On some camera 2 API allows additional modes, so I keep it
On better camera the color is boggus so I desactive it
On some raw format is detected not supported on other it is detected supported but not working so I select jpeg format staying in camera 2

Yes, they both work.
it supports api2. Someone recorded 4k video with it and i can shoot raw pictures but they are pink xD
Although the topic is old, for those who are still interested, I discovered a version of Google Camera that can capture DNG / RAW on the Galaxy A5 / A7 2017. The colors look perfect. They don't look pink like some apps that force DNG capture.

Can't install the mod for raw format
Thanks for the information but on my phone the mod refuse to be intalled
I' am a little surprise that it work because open camera support raw format with phones supporting it
And when i active camera api 2 and display the supported functions, raw is written not supported
Normally it is a samsung camera driver limitation

You get the option to store photos in raw and jpeg when shooting in pro mode via settings in camera app.

Use Open Camera
Tried every possible gcam port. None of them is working properly. Then I downloaded Open Camera, used it before on another phone. The jpg or png that come straight out of the app are ok, a bit better than stock. But the DNG, raw files, have so much more potential. For critical shots, take the raw files, do some quick editing on Adobe Lightroom (free app) and you'll be amazed how much detail is available. The raw files are on par with my LG G6 pictures. It's just that the in camera jpg processing is not that great. The sensor though is able to capture lots of details. For normal shots the stock camera is fine.
Stock photo camera is fine but video camera is awfull!
Google cam from Arnova8G2 GCam_6.1.021_Advanced_V1.5.190418.1850.apk work on my P Smart 2019
Picture, Video, Lens Blur, Panorama and HDR mode work well.
Only thing that didn't work are Portrait and Night mode.

Hi,
Can someone with Xperia 1 please:
1. Install "Camera2 API probe" and report if it has a green check for "RAW capture".
2. If RAW is indeed supported, please install "Open Camera" (or another third party app supporting RAW output), take some pictures in DNG format and provide the original DNG files.
3. Also take the same photos with the stock Sony cam and provide the original JPG files for comparison with the DNG.
I think this may help quite a few people since we have yet to see any evidence of RAW support and samples from Xperia 1.

I'd like to test if we can extract better quality than stock from the RAW in post processing.
Raw Capture App : Camera FV-5
Hi there, I too realized that the stock camera under not so ideal conditions does not really produce the best image. Hope sony does fix it with an update, they have after years made a good phone to compete with other really hope they don't screw it up.
Coming back to topic :
I am currently using Camera FV-5 paid application and the RAW image is amazing in terms of getting a good base to play around on lightroom. I am even getting extremely impressive images by editing it on phone with Lightroom (paid full) android app.
I will try and post a google drive link in sometime, but for a quick feedback the RAW capture on Xperia 1 is good. I am sure even other 3rd party RAW apps should work well., given it has full Camera 2 API support. (Note it does not support level 3 API though)

No, just the main camera. I also use Open Camera, even this app only uses main lens with digital zoom.
Also from camera2 probe (APP) i noticed the Wide angle lens does not support RAW. its only the main and telephoto lens.

Isn't it possible to switch to the wide angle and telephoto on 3rd party apps like open camera?
It doesn't make sense sony locking it even if the JPEG are great.
LG phones have RAW on all lenses for years altought JPEG processing in the later models is not very good.
Taken with the GCam mod 7.3.018-V2.8.1. with this miss the telephoto and wide angle camera also work
The first picture on the left was taken the stock camera app.
The second picture was taken with the GCam app, I like it better than Gcam camera app. Look at the detail on the headlamps. Pictures taken with stock settings
So why you use gcam
