Hey guys, i just bought poco f1 this week and im really satisfied with it. The battery life if awesome. But the battery drain during my sleep time bothers me. How to stop apps from running in the background while my phone is asleep.
I already go to battery saver settings and put all apps to >restrict background activity (apps will be closed to save power) except whatsapp, telegram, instagram and twitter. But for some reason, i still got a facebook notifications eventhough i never open the app and i already restrict background activity on facebook. Why?
I think thats the reason why battery drained by 10-15% in 7 hours is because of facebook running in the background for some reason. Any suggestions?

Anyone know of an email client which support true push notification for Yahoo mail? If you are using one that does, please give me some setup tips also to enable push.
the official Yahoo mail app....instant notifications, on spot
Thank you. How does it drain battery? I figured out my email app as the single app determining how long battery last for decent use. I had maildroid before, dumped it after the latest update started killing phone in 2 hours. Didn't use any email client for 2 days and noticed just 2% battery drop in 7 hours of sleep with backgroud sync and everything else! Now I need a decent email app which wont drain too much juice.

couldnt tell you.....i have so much **** running on my phones these days i have no idea whats eating my battery anymore haha.....give it a shot and test it out....great app
Try K-9 or Maildroid... ( I prefer Maildroid myself...)
K-9 is not really pusing the email thru IMAP yahoo server. I had to poll once in 30 mins to get mails. I used Maildroid for about 4 month happily until the latest update started draining the battery like crazy. Phone dead in 2 hours flat!
I noticed some horrible battery life (about less than 9 hours) on my phone, and suspected that Motoblur had something to do with it. 4G, bt, wifi, and gps were not on the entire day.
I did a quick search and saw people complaining that the Social Networking app can be a battery drainer. Have you guys noticed anything?
I set it to one hour sync for now (instead of the default - push), and we'll see how it goes tomorrow. But if that's the case, do you know if I can remove those accounts completely, but still have Facebook and Twitter account information linked to the contacts with their own apps?
9 hours is honestly ok
You can remove any accounts you want and the phone will function fine. My phone lasts like 12 hours with medium use and 6 and a half with heavy usage.

Not really, i constantly check my battery usage and Social Networking has always stayed low on the list. I also have mine set to 1 hour update increments. I was interested in removing all motoblur parts but was disappointed to find that androids Facebook app does 'not' sync pictures to contacts and such and doesnt contain an option. If there is a way to do this, i'd like to know as well. What you can do if your rooted is allow moto's social networking to tag all of your contacts with pictures, then backup your contacts with Titanium. At that point you can remove you accounts, restore through Titanium and have your pictures on your contacts with your facebook account unlinked. Granted, this obviously wont work for new friends you would acquire.
I would just put up with it till someone releases a rom with stock android if you really dislike motoblur. Hopefully that will happen soon, as that seems to be what most people are wanting.
I hv S2 rooted with titanium, autostart and watch dog running.
After doing all this still i m not happy with the battery life. it dies by evening with push exchange mail, calls , wifi, sms, gmail. no game play or music. I hv freezed unwanted stuff.
I hv noticed that in task manager my email app shows ram usage of upto 28 mb and cpu @ 15% and it turns red in color. is there something i need to do.
Any more suggestions.
my e-mail is also draining most of my power. going to try and look for a fix later and post on here if i find anything. otherwise i'll just install another e-mail app and see?
EDIT: I was also using "Never" sync mail, contacts, calendar... I've been refreshing it manually and even when I don't refresh it, it is the major cause of battery drain.
If your root you can navigate to system/app and delete email + email widget apks, with the stock samsung email even if you dont use it its still running in the background eating battery.
k9 mail is a very good alternative.
Also check out betterbatterystats its very good for seeing whats draining battery.

fanta182,
I fixed my problem. K9 didn't work for me because it would not connect to the exchange server for some reason. However this worked:

I really like my Rezound but it seems like the built-in task killer is killing off all of my apps that need sync and/or push notifications. I saw that the OTA update was set to fix that it was killing off email syncs, and it did fix that, my email app syncs all the time now.
However, my facebook widget, facebook messenger app, yahoo messenger app, yahoo mail app; they work fine for about 8-10 hours, then after that they just dont update anymore at all. When a new email hits my yahoo account, it stops getting push notifications, when someone sends me a new facebook message, my facebook messenger app doesnt get the notification, etc. This really sucks. The only way I've been able to get them to work again is, every morning after waking up, I have to power down and restart the phone 2 or 3 times to get them all back working. But usually by the end of my day, they've all stopped again.
Any ideas?
Bump
Anybody experience this too?
Do you mean the HTC power management scheme? Because I don't remember a task-killer being installed.. Forgive me if there is because I haven't seen stock since about a week after I got the phone. Maybe try setting the power management to performance mode and grabbing an app like Juice Defender that's a bit more customizable.
To piggyback on what MrSmith said (speaking from personal experience), if your battery gets to the point where your phone goes into power save mode, background data and/or auto sync may be turning off, and it doesn't always turn back on.

Mine is in Performance mode. Gingerbread comes with a task manager built in. One of the big issues that the OTA update fixed was the fact that the built-in task manager was killing off the email sync in the background (according to the official description of the update).
I'm assuming that the task manager is auto-killing a lot of stuff as well too. My facebook widget almost never updates after a few hours after rebooting.
I'm still on 100% stock. I guess at some point I'll unlock the bootloader, root it, and go with a new ROM. I'm not real familiar with the process for doing that with an HTC. I came from the Samsung Galaxy S world. It was so much easier to root and switch ROMs, etc.
To those of you who are getting over a day of battery life, do any of you have Google maps latitude location reporting on ?
My phone has been unplugged for about 45 mins and maps is already on top of the list of wake lock detector.
I have it off and am getting about a day under fairly heavy use.

I have the basic Location services on but GPS off obviously and i have maps frozen untill i need it (Maps is NUTS with wakelocks) and background data off along with everything else that shows up under data usage. All background off but email, hangouts, google services, play store, weather, gmail, or anything else i need for alerts i need to get. So all music, youtube, es file ex, goo manager, dropbox, has all background data off.
I also only use Air call-accept and quick glance as my only air, motion or smart screen options on. I'm getting 5+ hours of screen time on. I hope telling you what i do helps if your trying to get better battery life.
Turned it off from reporting. Wonder how i can add it to the greenify app list. Might have to convert to user app
