Help, Facial unlocking sometimes does not work (no error message) - Xiaomi Poco F1 Questions & Answers

Hi!!
I've been with the pocophone for about two weeks and I have it updated to the latest official version 10.0.6.0.
The problem that I am sometimes encountering is that, I double-tap on the screen to unlock the mobile and the facial recognition does not act, so, the red light (IR) does not turn on (as it should happen) and does not even show the error of "could not recognize you". If I "relock" the screen and double-tab, yes it turns on the IR and unlocks me successfully.
This happens only on a few occasions and only the first time... if then locking and unlocking many times in a row always turns on the IR correctly.
Does anyone have this problem?
Thanks and best regards.

Thanks for the answer.
In my case it happens at home...
Could be "non-interactive Mode" inside "battery & performance" in scenes section?
This mode is enabled by default.

[Q] Face Unlock Issues

I'm currently experiencing issues with face unlock.
I can unlock my phone using face unlock the first time without any issues. However, after I unlock my phone with face unlock, the phone stays unlocked. When the screen turns off (manually or automatically) it does not relock. I have my phone set to lock immediate when the screen turns off.
When I press the power button and it will be at the launcher. In addition, I noticed that the second time I unlock, the light sensor blinks and it continues to blink until I restart the phone.
Is anyone else experiencing this issue? Does anyone know how to fix this?
Edit: problem solved. I pushed another face unlock apk and it seems like it got fixed. Corrupted apk maybe

Xperia Z2 Blank Screen

Hello,
I have a very strange problem with my Xperia Z2. After unlocking the display on the device is blank. You can see the brightness, the touch works, because when I swipe my fingers I can hear android sound but there is no picture. I must do "lock - unlock" pattern 3-4 times, sometimes even more to get the display work properly. I tried to fix it by using software repair but it didnt work, and also
factory reset. Its just so iritating, I cant even lock my phone anymore, I try to keep the display on as much as possible if someone trys to call me so I can answer it. Device is currently running on Existenz ROM but the issue started on the stock so I flashed custom rom but it didn't help. So this is probably a hardware problem and if it is, what could be broken ( is it display, GPU,whatever ) or it could be a software problem ? Any help would be appreciated.
Can you see your lockscreen?

No, no the "lock-unlock pattern" is reffered to simply pressing the unlock button on the phone. There is just blank display and light is on as I mentioned but no picture. After pressing button many times the picture finaly comes and then it's normal. It only happens when phone goes to sleep mode or after I lock it.
If your phone reboots can you see the SONY logo and the boot animation as well?

Nope, there is nothing. Just a sound and LED works, and blank screen. Then again, when the phone finally reboots, pressing lock-unlock button will do the trick. It seems like, when I dont touch the phone longer time, it's harder to get screen on. But when I constantly work with the phone there is no need for that amount of "lock - unlock button move".

It's probably hardware, now it's just a question of repair cost and is it worth it ?

I think this is due to a faulty LCD screen, but the digitalizer seems fine. So maybe you could consult some local repair shops and prove if my hypothesis is correct. But first of all you should try also flashing another kernel (eg elite kernel) first to see if it is a software issue rather than a hardware issue.

Unlocking the phone is a hassle sometimes...

Hello, Everyone.
It's my first time posting here. I just received my phone yesterday with 64gb/3gb MTK variant. I have been testing it out and noticed that unlocking the phone is a bit buggy or is there a setting i can change? Here is the problem: When i unlock the phone via power button it turns on and after a split second the screen turns off. And if i try to unlock it again via power button it won't turn on. If i try to unlock it via fingerprint it turns on and everything is fine again. Is this a bug or a feature i can turn off?
Thank you.

Hi,
I don't believe that to be the default behavior when pressing the power button.
What is the version of your ROM?

Kernel: 3.18.22+

Additional: When I am playing a game the screen randomly turns off and the first mentioned problem occurs again. Or when i am just using the phone the screen turns off.

This happens after you leave the phone for a bit right? Not after you manually turn off the screen. I think what is happening is the moment you try to unlock it, the screen is not actually locked but the brightness is just way too low. This phone when left untouched has a two stage brightness dim
1. The brightness when you immediately stop using it
2. A lower brightness which comes 15 seconds after you stop using it and then it actually locks
The latest global developer ROM does not have this problem as they increased the second stage dim brightness so that users are not fooled into thinking that the screen has been locked

Question Fingerprint sensor

I don't know anything about how under-screen fp readers work, but... Is there no way to use it when the screen is off?
On previous phones I always used the fingerprint sensor to turn on and unlock with one touch, but this N20 5G seems to only fp-unlock when A) The screen is on, and B) The "fingerprint goes here" icon is visible.
The screen will usually turn on when I pick up the phone ("Somatic Gesture"); the fingerprint icon then appears for a few seconds, then goes away. That seems to be the only window for unlocking without clicking the power button.
Am I missing a trick?
I use double tap to wake and it works great. The sensor stays lit up for about 7 full seconds before going black. YMMV
Good point, double-tap to wake was disabled by default!
Still two more taps than I'd prefer to get to the fingerprint unlock, but I guess that's more a reflection of how incredibly lazy I've become than a problem with the phone.

Question fingerprint button on the side

Hello,
I have a ZF9 for a few days and I can't get used to the fingerprint on the side. I often unlock it by mistake when I put it in my pocket.
You don't have a problem with that?
I didn't have a problem with other devices with a fingerprint on the side, I set to physically press it. It cannot be set on ZF9.
I'm unhappy about it

I have this problem to, its very gentleness
Same problem until found that you can unlock only by pressing the button unlock
and not only touch it
you goes to settings -> security & lock screen -> Fingerprint -> screen off unlock
and you have two options press or touch and press only
choose "press only"
well thank you!

I feel really dumb right now for not searching in there ... Thank you so much. Like most I had trouble with unintentional unlocks.
after this annoying problem I start looking all other settings for solution
Oh, this is so smart! I had the issue of my phone going weird places when I pull it out of my pocket sometimes, even with pocket mode enabled, and I didn't realize what caused it... Now I found the problem along with a solution in this thread. Thanks
Wooh, thanks, i thought it was an issue on my zf9
