Huawei Nexus 6P: Unknown Baseband Issue, No IMEI number, NO Carrier Signals - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello people,
I am new here in this forum but have always been following XDA forum. This is a great place where everyone finds answers to their questions. I hope I find mine too.
2 days ago I was running my Huawei Nexus 6P completely fine on OS 8.0.1. I was on a WhatsApp call and opened up my Snapchat that's when my phone turn off. I tried to turn it on and it would boot to the Google screen and restart again and again. I tried all everything but was not able to fix it. I took to a market place and the guy fixed my phone where I can use it for Camera, music and to browse WiFi only. He was unable to fix it completely and I am not able to use my cellular signals on my phone neither it shows my IMEI number. I am devastated at this point and do not know how to fix it. I have been browsing a bit but could not get any good answers. I tried to fix it with ADB but had no luck. I WOULD HIGHLY APPRECIATE IF ANY OF YOU CAN TAKE OUT THEIR TIME AND HELP ME WITH THIS. PLEASE. Thank you so much.

[Q] Google Account not working?

Hi everyone, I've searched the whole XDA, and couldn't find a straight answer for my issue, so I'm asking for your precious help.
About a week ago, I was downloading an app from Market, but the phone went beserk, and died on me.
I rebooted it, but it stop giving me access to Market / Internet.
I reflashed to stock Rom, stock kernel, you name it, I did it...
Installed various Rom's and still, no dice..
Created a new account, it logged on, but as soon as I rebooted the phone, same thing
I have a Huawei U8510, so I changed my SIM card to see if it was something with the x10MP, and voilá, I can access Market with my account with no problems...
What the hell is wrong with my Mini???
I swear to God I'm gonna make a brick out of him and smash it onto some wall...
Thanks!
BUMP
Sorry, but I'm really desperate!
I had similar issue... couldn't log into my gmail account.
Then I reset the phone from the configuration menu.
Then it didn't work...
This tests were sometimes with the sim, sometimes without it, allways with wifi
Then I traveled to another country, tested it again and started working...
But, avoided the screen turning off during the google login.

[Q] S Voice issues

Hi guys!
I have a GS3(GT-I9300) with stock jellybean(4.1.1). S Voice was working fine until recently, but now it gives "Network error" for every command. The same commands work in Google Now. Waking up S Voice with "Hi Galaxy!" works. I have spent a lot of time with Samsung support but they make me wanna cry, they're useless. This one guy suggested to pull out the battery for a couple of seconds, and after that it worked for a minute or so(can't see why, but as long as it's a solution I'm happy) but it stopped working again. I have tried google but came up empty. Do you have any ideas how I could fix this without rooting it(I'm not interested in rooting so please leave those solutions out)?
OK So it seems that having Adblock Plus installed blocks S Voice. Hope this will help someone else.

[Q] Please Help! Fixing a Tablet.

I'm having some serious issues trying to fix my girlfriends tablet. It's a Motorola Xoom running Android 4.1.2. The issue it's having is that even though the tablet is connected to the internet none of the apps (play store, YouTube, etc) will connect. They all say 'no internet connection'. The only way I know the tablet is actually connected to Wi-Fi is that the internet browser still works. This might be unrelated to the issue but every single website I go to it gives me the warning 'Security warning: There are problems with the security certificate for this site'. It's very annoying. Sometimes I will have to hit cancel 10 times before the warning goes away.
I'm hoping that this is something I can fix without doing a complete reset because there are pictures and stuff I don't want to lose. Since I can't connect to google play I can't back them up to am app like dropbox either.
I hope someone here can help me fix this, thanks in advance.
Okay well if anyone is wondering I found a fix for this. Somehow the date reverted back to 01/02/1999 and I had to go to the date and time settings and sync it with the network. Hopefully this will help solve someones future frustration since I couldn't find a single thing about this after hours of searching for a solution.

Its there a Gps tracker app that cant be uninstalled?

Hey thanks for reading, a couple of days ago , my wifes phone got stolen, i had the find my phone app installed in it but i always had my doubts as i always thought that if someone like me finds a phone and wants to keep it, they could just master reset it and erase any gps traking apps and have a new phone rigth? well thats what happened, tiefh turned off the phone right away and the phone never showed up neither on google device manager nor the find my phone either. Anyway , a person that works on a cell repair shop told me, he has his phone setup in a way that if you do a factory reset or even if you flash the phone, once the phone has acces to the internet, it will install the gps back again and tell you where it is.
So i was wondering if anyone has any idea wich app or how to do such thing. Thanks for your time and pardon my bad grammar and english.
PS: i wonder why google dosnt have something like the icloud where you can lock your phone to it via imei, that way if it gets stolen you can just lock your phone and tiefs wont be able to use it. I know google has my last imei, so i guess is posible for them to track my device to see wich other account is using my phone.

With root access Avast Mobile Security has this kind of features as far as I remember. It keeps a protection after a factory reset or a firmware installation.
BTW Apple produces the devices so they have a control on the IMEI (IMEI is a hardware data and not software). Moreover you should probably be able to contact your local authoritizies to blacklist the IMEI.
Hope it helps.
ill give that atry, the reviews dont look good but most of them look to be because people dont understand that there are 2 kinds of the same app, one for normal users , the other for rooted users. Thanks alot for your help. Any other options out there?

Amazfit Pace / Wifi problem on the phone

Hi everyone,
I have a problem with my watch "Amazfit Pace".
My phone is a Nexus 6P and I use the application "Amazfit Watch"
When I turn off the watch, the wifi on the phone become extremely slow.
The problem is fixed if I turn off the bluetooth on the phone (but I need the bluetooth for other devices, so that's not a solution).
Maybe the application is always searching for the watch and disturbe the wifi on the phone ?
I'm trying to find a solution with Amazfit support, but they tell me not to repeat the problem.
Thanks for your help.
Settings>Apps>Amazfit watch app>Change system settings off
Check there, I had problems with BT turning on all the time and I had to turn off there, so it turns on only when I open application.
"When I turn off the watch, the wifi on the phone become extremely slow."
i don't get it
the watch doesn't connect directly (through wifi) with the phone , the bt is for that
the watch connects (through wifi) with your router and need the wifi for the update only (i think)
are you sure that your router is "ok" ?
do you have the same problem on different wifi / router ?
Thank you for your response.
I know the watch connects in bluetooth.
But when the connection is not made (for example the watch is off or I don't have it with me), it is the wifi used by my phone that works very badly.
Everything goes back to normal if I turn off the Bluetooth or uninstall the Amazfit application.
I haven't been able to test with another router yet, but all my devices are working properly with it.
Did you tried to do what I wrote you? Try that, force stop Amazfit app and hope on the best.

Thanks for your help, but it doesn't work any better.
Because of a battery problem, Google has just changed my Nexus 6P by this one which is a reconditioned one, and I wonder if it doesn't have a problem.
What bothers me is that otherwise everything works perfectly.
I didn't test the watch with my old Nexus 6P, too bad, it went back to Google...
Yeah I got the same problem!
The amazfit app has a very aggressive policy for bluetooth pooling. The wifi/ble are places on a single chip in our phones and they're sharing the same rf antenna. That's why it probably slows down wifi.
I have a xiaomi phone btw.
i have the same problem, i write to amazfit support and repply : "you are the firts person with this problem".
i have problem with samsung a3 , a5 and S7
with others phone do not have problem at all
any ideas?
Thank you for your answers.
I am reassured to see that I am not the only one concerned.
I have submitted the problem to the Amazfit support.
Hi, is there any news about this problem? Cause i have a same thing, then I turning on an airplane mode on the wach Wi-Fi is going down...
Hi,
I am still in discussions with Amazfit support, no solution yet. I just sent them the app logs.
I think everyone who has the problem should report it to them, so maybe it will solve the problem more quickly.
Hello, I have exactly the same problem, any news from Huami?
Thank you very much
I am still in discussions with the support, but they don't find the solution.
I encourage everyone involved to bring the problem to their attention as well, that may help to solve the problem.

this is what they just told me:
"Hello Joan,
Thank you for the reply. We are apologize for the trouble.
Our tech support have already looked into this issue, and they said there is no problem with the app. Could you please wait for the next update of the app to see if the issue can be solved? Thank you so much for your cooperation!
Should you have any further questions, please feel free to let us know. Cheers and have an excellent day!
Sincerely,

Just had a month of banging my head over this strange behaviour. Even called ISP support to come check it, because sometimes it would even crash my router. Always at around 23h until about 7h the wifi would be like a crawl. Today I really took the matters into my hands and made some tests with network analyzers on the phone and so then began uninstalling apps from more recent to older. As soon as Amazfit watch app went away bang! everything began working, even a movie that had tried to start on chromecast and was stuck for more than 30min started playing out of nowhere.
Then tried to install it back again and issue started again even though it was disconnected from the phone. My first thought was that crazy chinese had put some creepy code at would start doing something creepy at night. Then I remembered that I had auto airplane mode from 23h to 7h! This is crazy! Airplane mode is useless this way.!
I'm going to open a ticket also. Not sure if this happens with every phone, mine is quite old. Sony Xperia Z3, could be only old chipsets, but could also be people just don't know whats going on and blame other things, because it is a really strange behaviour.
I just received a reply from Amazfit Support:
"Our developer team are working on this issue. Hope this will be optimized in the near future, but no dates have been set yet.
Could you please reset your router to 5G dual band to have a try? Thank you for your patience and understanding!"
So they are aware and trying to figure out what to do. I believe the workaround will work, because bluetooth is also 2,4Ghz and that might be the issue, but have to try later at home.
Wifi problems
Same problem here. WIFI on smartphone goes down when watch is disconnected (airplane mode, turned off, away from phone, etc). Reported to amazfit support. Big bug!
Bad news from Amazfit support, they blame the phone, and their only solution is "try on another phone":

Hello there,
Thank you for your email. We are very sorry about the inconvenience.
Our developer team argued that such issue maybe caused by certain mobile phones. Could you please try another phone to have a try? Thank you for your understanding!
Should you have any further questions, please feel free to let us know. Thank you and have a nice day!
Sincerely,
Seven | Amazfit Support
I've got the same issue and just wrote a ticket through the app with screenshots from a speedtest app.
i've got an oneplus 3t with android 8.0.0
Wifi speed usually is 50 Mbit/s. If the watch is disconnected it goes down to about 5 Mbit/s. I can reproduce this behavior everytime I want to, so it's caused by the app.
