Hello!
I run into a problem. Any launcher, i want to install, have the dock on the fingerprint - side in landscape mode. Ive done a massive research, and i think, that the problem is the default orientation. From device info i know, the default orientation for my mediapad m5 is portait mode.
I am a long time into rooting and stuff, but i cant work with the huawei "filesystem". I have searches 2 hours now, and i dont find a single xml or other file, where the default display orientation is specified.
Does anyone know, how to change it the way, that i can use the dock on the bottom side of landscape mode? Does anyone know how to find the default display orientation settings?
Sorry for my bad english, i hope you understand me!
Thank you!

Can be closed. To get the normal orientation on launchers set the dpi from 400 to 350!
This is my problem too
I changed smallest width in developer options and set to 350 but the Apex or nova launcher won't rotate yet, How can I change the dpi? Some apps won't rotate to landscape, like launcher or zus car app.. Any one can help please?
build.prop?
I think the default orientation can be adjusted in build.prop properties.
check
/system/build.prop
Not sure which of 0, 90, 180, 270 you need.
ro.sf.hwrotation=90
Permissions of file must be rw-r--r-- (0644) or you may have boot problems.
Owner may also have to be root. Check the original on your device.
Application may still override this.
It is not an XML file.

I am sorry if this has been asked before, but after searching for a while, I decided to seek help. Is there anyway to disable the Landscape Menu without disabling TF3D? I would like to disable this.
Thanks
I sure hope someone has an answer, because I'm interested in that too.

Im interested in a landscape touchflo that looks just like the regular one...last time i tried to download one it just skinned everything...so can someone point me to a landscape touchflo identical to the regular?
me too please!
I definitely want to edit the softkeys in landscape mode, but I would also like to change some of the options to choose from, or just change the landscape setup completely. I've been searching and can't find ANYTHING at all about editing the landscape screen. Is it even possible?
BTW, what do we call that screen? Landscape launcher maybe?
Here we have stock home screen from SE.
I was completely satisfied with it, except for three things which I will describe below. And if you help me understand how to fix them, then I think it would be ideal for the home screen of this phone model. Moreover I would be very grateful
And so:
1. Long press on the widgets and on the list of programs. This causes the editing widget or program list. Terribly inconvenient function. The editing widget or program list also caused by a hard button "Menu" and this is sufficient.
[Q] How to disable Long press on the widgets and on the list of programs?
2. All applications in the list of the programs have a label under the icon.
[Q] How to disable icons label show?
3. In "X10 mini pro" when open qwerty keyboard - a home screen adopts a horizontal position. But there is no qwerty keyboard in "X10 mini" that would change the orientation of the home screen. At the same time we have an accelerometer and a function that reads it values. And so we have a function to change the orientation of the home screen that is invoked when you open the qwerty keyboard. Consequently, in the function that modifies the orientation of the home screen, we must substitute instead of checking on opening the keyboard - to check screen position.
[Q] In which folder, which file, which line of the file and what will I have to change that would make changing the orientation of the home screen when the phone is in horizontal position?
"In which folder, which file, which line of the file and what will I have to change" this is as in addition to questions 1 and 2.
P.S. Alternative home screen does not offer

Because I like its simplicity. And the triangle button on the corners. I like its minimalism, with the exception of those three things.
I really want to implement it. Could you explain to me or to help with this?
The other launchers are great....but i liked SE stocked Home....the four corner UI is simple yet attractive....

pleased that I have a like-minded
well i don't have semchome in my rom and still i have 4 corners in stock launcher so what seems to be deal?
this two in build.prop defines ui that will be used..
ro.semc.timescape_keys=X10_mini_key
ro.semc.timescape_model=1_handed
so with stock google launcher you have less memory used + your favorite ui

And what do these lines?
I do not quite understand you. Is it possible for more info?
Guys, at least tell me if it is real or not?
If so what difficulties?
Portrate texting doesnt switch to full screen but landscape does. I remember seeing something for a setting on this but cant find it to change it. It might have been on another phone, im not really sure.
Any clues to change landscape to not use the entire screen, half for keyboard and half for input box, like portrait does?
That's usually a setting specific to each keyboard. Check your keyboards app settings for something like editor, fullscreen, or for landscape only settings. Which keyboard are you using?
Edit: not all keyboards have a setting to turn off full screen in landscape.
Ah yes, i found it in the keyboard settings
With stock ICS, I am bad at typing messages with the vertical keyboard, so I always have to turn it first so that the large keyboard appears (and sometimes it takes a while for it to register). I was wondering if there is a setting for it to automatically always select the horizontal way whenever possible...or perhaps there is an app out there or a way for it to register much faster.
Use holo launcher hd plus or any launcher in the launcher settings there is always an option default orientation change it to landscape then u can have a permanent landscape view not sure abt the option being there in touchwiz havent used it in a long time

I use Set Orientation from gPlay, allows you to set (and force any app into, even it doesn't want to support) the orientation you want directly from the notification area.
Maybe that'll help you too.
Can anyone confirm that it's not just me? M5 8.4 inch UK model (normally using Nova launcher) set display view mode to small (in order for some apps to see this as a tablet not phone) and on rotation to landscape the navigation bar/buttons disappear.
(Leaving on default and the navbar stays at the side on rotation - though I'd prefer it on the bottom.)
Using developer options to set dpi to 680 makes the navbar appear but with only the home button showing.
Huawei support suggest a factory reset, which I've already done to enforce the DRM change in the recent update, so doubt it would make any difference.
Surely is not just my tablet?

me too, the support told me to wait a future update...
I had what sounds like a somewhat similar issue using Nova Launcher and the 10 inch model. In landscape mode the nova dock would stay vertical on the right side instead of moving to the bottom, even if the screen orientation was set to auto-rotate in the nova settings / look and feel.
It was fixed by simply changing the View Mode setting to small in Settings / Display. Didn't have to mess with DPI manually or anything. With the View Mode to small I don't have any problems with the dock or the navigation bar.

Thanks, it's good to know that it's a general issue with the tablet.

This is probably just a side effect of the default DPI value, Nova treats the tablet as a phone, where it's normal to have the navbar on the side when in landscape. Switching display mode moves to a more compact DPI setting. Good to know that the navbar works, it suggests it's just an issue with the 8.4 that should get fixed.
For those annoyed by this, just wanted to mention that Ultimate Dynamic Navbar works, at least partially, if you are rooted (maybe even if you aren't). It's a navbar replacement that is fully customizable, fully collapsible, and will rotate with the device.
For me, I can't map home/recents/back functions to the softkeys - but a.) I haven't experimented, b.) the UDN softkeys can still be used to launch custom apps and for various other functions like switching to the "previous app," c.) the UDN navbar can be used in conjunction with your existing navbar setup, and d.) it's a lightweight app that is fully collapsible, so you have little to lose by installing it.
Known issue
This youtuber describes this exact issue amongst other issues:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qef...b3uy2lez3h4b2rhtpst1w03c010c.1526416319255488
Now fixed (at least partly) with firmware 8.0.0.151. When display size is set to small, the nav bar now stays visible on the short side, though I'd prefer it on the long side. Not a complete fix, in that when changing DPI in developer settings, it just shows the single home button on the long side.
The device offers you the option to use the fingerprint button for navigation. You can find the option at system settings / navigation
