We have previously discussed about creating custom fonts here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=745345
But this method doesn't seem to provide the method to include a different font file for the bold face.
I've tried including a bold variant of the font in the same folder as the regular one, and changed the XML file too (the one with the same name as the font name).
For example, like this:
<filename>Arial.ttf</filename>
<droidname>DroidSans.ttf</droidname>
and
<filename>Arial-Bold.ttf</filename>
<droidname>DroidSans-Bold.ttf</droidname>
But it turned out that the phone only uses the bold font, while on the preview ("Set Font" options) it shows the regular one. It's strange.
I've found a font pack in the Market (developed by Swiggit Inc) and it looks like they have implemented custom fonts for both normal and bold face correctly.
So... Can anyone help me on this?

Does anybody know how to change font in Handcentsms except by using fontpacks?
Is there any option to put ttf font to some directory from where the hancentsms will use it?
I tried installing a new flip font apk on the phone but it is not showing on the list of fonts to change it to. Is there something I am missing to get this to work? Thanks

Let me clarify:
You installed a font changing .apk, and can't find it in the system settings>display>font type?
If that is the case, it wouldn't show up there because the .apk you installed should be in your app drawer, you would use that app the change your fonts instead of the system menu.
Or you put a font .ttf/.otf in the system/font folder and it doesn't show in the list?
If it is this one, I have a bunch in that folder that don't show up in the list either, it seems it only picks the stock fonts to display.
If you have tried using the font changing .apk to change the font and it isn't working, my guess is because LG lets you choose between multiple fonts it isn't using the default Android system font name (I don't remember the name off the top of my head) but instead using one of the custom font names.
If you want to change it yourself, you could try to replace the font you currently have the settings set to in the system/font folder with one of your choice (rename the stock font with a .bak at the end and rename the new font the same name as the old font, then make sure it is the same font your settings are set to).
All this is just speculation though, LG may have implemented the custom fonts differently, but I know they are in that system/font folder, so I think it could work. This is assuming you are rooted of course.

I use romtoolbox pro, but that's mostly because I paid for it.
Guys I am asking to change the font of whole ui of rom. I tried font installer but it installs extra fonts in my device not ui fonts or is there any other option in font installer that I have miss.....?

to change fonts using the Lg font selector, this should be the same for all L9 variants
-requires root and a file explorer
-go download some .ttf font files you like but make sure the font has capital, lowercase, and all other characters
(theres plenty of free fonts just search it)
-navigate to /system/fonts/ and backup the fonts your replacing by naming them [font_name].ttf.bak
or just cut/paste them into another folder
-replace HYSerif_Regular.ttf and HYSerif_Bold.ttf or HYTravel.ttf and HYTravel_Bold.ttf to replace the fonts in the Lg font selector
-replace Clockopia.ttf to replace the clock in the status bar and LGE_Dialfont.ttf to change the Phone app's font. these two will take effect no matter what font you have selected
-set permission for new fonts to -rw-r--r-- and reboot.
-go to settings, click display, and click font type to select your new font
I'm still trying to find which font controls the Lg lockscreen clock's font so if anyone finds that one let me know
or if anyone know how to revert to stock android lockscreen, the Lg one is starting to bug me

What's up everyone. I'm rooted and used iFont to install Comfortta, which is my favorite font. All the the system fonts changed, but the font of the google keyboard I installed doesn't change. The font does change when I go through settings to change the font, but the one I want isn't there.
Can I just copy the ttf file and then have the Comfortta font available in the settings/display/fonts??? Where is that folders?? I've looked and can't seem to get it.
