What's the problem with this screen. - Moto Z Questions & Answers

Hey guys, recently my moto z had its battery replaced but when I got home I noticed that the top left of the screen had this white splotch that looks like sunshine shining thru. The screen and touch in that area work fine there's just this "aura" or "glow" I'm attaching a picture to help.

Could be a pressure mark or affects from heat pack to melt glue to get rear case off.
Either way you're not gonna calibrate it out ??

It's surely a burn mark caused by excessive heat from the screen removal process. Unlike lcd screens which turn off pixels and return to normal function when cooled off, oled display pixels just die... Some phones get those kind of marks from the cpu overheating the display from under it.

Hero Screen Anomaly

Hero Screen Anomaly:
I found this out purely by chance. The sensitivity of the screen on the HTC Hero severely decreases when the phone is laid on a flat surface, with normal G-Sensor calibration.
However, if you place the phone upright and calibrate the G-Sensor such that the phone "thinks" it's on a flat surface, the screen sensitivity becomes normal when the phone is again laid on a flat surface. Has anyone else experienced this? Is this by any chance a power saving feature?
mine does the same thing. I think it has something to do with the accelerometer conflicting when laying down, which causes it to not respond to a press of the finger.
Yes, I've noticed the same thing. Specially on the right edge of the screen.
Right edge? Interesting. So it might not be a power saving feature? Ha-ha. Guess it's not that much of an annoyance to you guys too?

SE X10i Screen burns. Check yours now!!!

hi im a bit worried on my screen right now because ive notice some yellowish part on my x10 screen but it is only visible on white back ground.
it is located on the bottom part and few at the right side of the LCD...
could this be a possible screen burns? is it even possible in a normal LCD? because i thought screen burns only occur in those super amoled screens..
but you cant notice it when there is background color other than white..
anybody also suffer from this?
(use skyfire and go to a blank page in order to have a full white background)
I think there are only shadows of the led on the upper and downside of the display...the display isnt getting hot... just my thought...
send from my x10 using Rendeiro's 2.2.1/Cyanogen6.1.3
Last time i checked it wasnt possible to screen burn a phone, it would have to get really hot. Computer monitors do it but they are plugged into a socket, where as phones arnt that heavily used (compared with a monitor). LCD screens are supposed to be "immune" from them as they use a different method to get the display working
So no i doubt it will be screen burn

screen burns is possible in mobile phones..(one of my dilemma when i had my samsung wave s8500..i suspected it as a screen burn because its quite similar to what happen to my samsung wave...is there any screen test like in samsung wave where you can test the lcd with different colors so you can distinguish what color is burning your screen?
I want to ask, how does one burn his screen (on 2 phones no less)?
full brightness and lots of blue colors in background....

Screen defect

Hello to all
As the title says it's another screen defect that this phone have
I have noticed a darker area, which make almost a perfect rectangular shape upper to left of the screen and it is visible only in some circumstances
- screen brightness need to be lower that maximum (the lower it is the higher this defect is visible)
- mostly visible on grey image (for example the market startup) see other images in the links

not visible at all on black screen of course but when the screen is off and with a bright light (sunlight of a power lamp) in some right angles I can see some darker dots (looks to be some kind of liquid inside the screen) at the size of 5mm and also this rectangular shape (good eyes need here ) no picture for this because it is not visible with any camera
I wonder how came to this and is any possibilities to fix this such as those screen burners, could these help? or only a screen replacement?
PS: phone have no waranty
Thanks
Screen burns are permanent on AMOLED as far as I know. You'll either have to live with that or do a costly screen replacement.
Ah well, guess I have to live with it, not a major problem but it's looks a bit ugly sometimes.
Just read a bit more about amoled screen burn and it seems that the blue leds are the most that probably get weaker in time and causing this screen burn, and yes this is an explanation why on a blue screen this is almost not visible no mather of the screen brightness
Maybe burn all the screen with a white image, but I believe the result can be worst that this
Thanks

[Q] [HELP] I do not know if this tiny light on front screen is normal ?

I just purchased a new Xperia Z2 (D6503), everything worked fine.
But I noticed there is a tiny bright light/spot looks like this "-", about 1-2 mm long, located at the left corner of the bottom bezel (which is all black) on the front screen. It is most noticeable when the screen is on. When the screen is off, this tiny light is also off, just looks grey.
I wondered what this light is for , and found no results in the user manual. I searched Z2 phone pictures online and all the bottom bezel on those phone looked whole black without any light. So i'm worried if my screen is defective.
Please help me check if you have the same light on the bottom left corner of the bezel.
Thank you!

I'm new to this phone too, but I don't have anything like you describe. I think you may have a faulty device.
Maybe damaged pixel? Not sure, but I'm sure it is faulty hardware, take it to Sony for warranty repairs.

Is it on the display or off the display?

off the display , in the black bezel region at the bottom of the front of the phone.
It is most likely a manufacturing defect where the the bezel was scratched on the back side. This causes light from the backlight to bleed through the glass when the display is turned on. Sorry OP, maybe try to exchange it?

Phone hit by magnet, screen dead

Does anyone have any experience with dead screens? My phone inadvertently had a magnet fall on it. At first there were vertical scanlines along with yellow discoloration, now the screen will not function at all (besides touch response). Applying pressure at the top of the phone will cause some pixels to activate occasionally, though they activate when the screen is off and do not correlate to what would be on the screen normally anyway.
