[Need Help] Redmi Note 4 Battery Drain Custom ROM Franco Kernal - Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Questions & Answers

Hi Guys,
I'm using redmi note 4x snapdragon and after updating it to MIUI 10 my Mobile battery is draining very fast like just 2 hours of screen on time or even less. Even in idle mode battery is draining fast. Suddenly drop to 0% from 16%.
So i decided to flash a custom rom "ResurrectionRemix Oreo v6.2.1 Treble Build" but still battery was draining fast, after 1 day i flash a franco kernal just little improvement now i am getting 2.5 hours of screen on time after flashing franco kernal and tankfully now battery in idle mode not draining just a normal 1 to 2% (in 3 to 4 hours). But the problem is i am still getting 2.5 hours of screen on time and still sudden drop to 0% from 16% or 15%. i use to get 8 hours of screen on time before updating it to MIUI 10.
Even did a Battery calibration manually and also by app, deleting batterystats.bin method is also not working for me
So Guys please help me what can be the issue? Battery Health is good

I actually don't know as I don't find any changes in my about phone (in settings) information, though if you won't get lines such as "unable to mount or unmount /firmware " in your recovery screen while flashing the firmware, and at last get script succeeded message and nothing is shown in red lines then it means you have flashed your firmware successfully, I am saying on this on the basis of my unsuccessful flashing of firmware on my Mido using AEX Pie

As i said already try many roms by clean flashing.

I am facing the same issue with both HavocOS and AEX Pie, any update on this would be great help, I tried flashing different versions of custom ROMs but still getting the same issue.

I think Woivod took a break from RR and started working on AEX for now.

I don't remember much as I used it only for half hour or so. Due to random reboot and crashes. Which I still don't know why happened. Anyway his aex build is smooth just like his RR builds, I didn't checked all the customisation but it was lil less than RR.. Performance wise I will say both are quite same.. But as I didn't used much so can't say more. ? Sorry.

I installed October 8th Beacon build (RR-N-v5.8.5-20171008-land-Unofficial_mod_kernel_beacon) by Woivod.
But the kernel still remained as the lineageos kernel. As the rom was not pre-rooted, I installed SuperSu.
Now can someone tell me the steps to flash Beacon kernel on this rom? Is there any special steps to be taken such as flashing the stock boot.img from the RR-N-v5.8.5-20171008-land-Unofficial_mod_kernel_beacon.zip file prior to flashing the kernel zip file?

Nope, just download the kernel zip you want to flash and use twrp to flash it. And reboot.. viola you're done ?

Do a clean flash again (turn off Your mobile and press both volume buttons and the power button to enter TWRP)... If it doesn't work try re-downloading the ROM... Even then if it doesn't work try flashing Stock MIUI and then clean flash the ROM...
How is your battery on Woivod's build? I am currently on RR-N-v5.8.5-20171008 and I have a problem with battery drain. On build RR-N-v5.8.5-20171006 was the same. The problem is that my phone doesn't go to Deep Sleep state. It is always awake, even with screen off.
The wakelock that cause such a behaviour is a Kernel Wakelock called msm_otg. I have checked that with BetterBatteryStats.
I have tried 3 different kernels: a default one v.3.18.72, customs Beacon 3.0 stable and Beacon 3.5 beta. Behaviour is always the same.
I have a screensaver and pocket detection disabled. The only way to start entering Deep Sleep state is to reboot the phone after it is charged. But it is a pain in the ...... always to remember it, have time for it and always keep an eye if phone gets Deep Sleep or not.

Same issue here... Initially in both 6th and 8th build it was fine but deep doze didn't work later... May be You can try the doze app in Play Store... But battery drain in 8th with Beacon is unbearable...
I clean flashed October 8th build (with the new kernel 3.18.72) today. I feel that phone is a lot smoother now. LiveDisplay and miui camera is working fine (I will not go back to MIUI anymore ).
Previously, I had dirty flashed his Oct 8th build over Oct 5th build.
Once again thanks to Woivod for his awesome work on Redmi 3s.
Regarding the battery issue and not falling into Deep Sleep state described in post #12... I have a feeling, that installing Kernel Auditor from Google Play fixed the problem. I need some more testing to be sure, but anyone having similar issues please give it a try as well.

I didnt even have kernel auditor but still had deep sleep issue...
I felt 6th Build to be the Best... Does clean flashing 8th build with Lineage Kernel feel smooth??
Im currently on Wadjm81's 16th Build... Its a lot laggy...
After the overnight charging to 100% I find that Kernel Auditor is not a solution. Still no Deep Sleep state.
I've flashed PERXEPTED-N-v3.3_20170925 kernel today. Will see what happens tomorrow morning.
@bharathulaganathan
I feel both 6th and 8th to be very smooth, don't see any difference. I even did dirt flash 8th over to 6th build and have no issues... apart from this Deep Sleep But it is not related I believe.

Issue related Pixel Experience Rom

Dear Devs, after the new OTA update of Pixel Experience Rom i am facing a severe heating problem after a little use.Battery is also draining.I m using Redmi note 4 mido.Snapdragon ver.

Wrong section and Rom isnt official supported on xda, but you can try a custom kernel which should solve battery drain (if you have the deepsleep issue), else you can try naptime (force doze - against battery drain)... But i dont know how to solve heat issue
@lexx.ps What do you meant by "ROM isn't officially supported on XDA"?

I flashed this rom 2 months ago , everything was fine. But yesterday I tried to format my phone . From settings I clicked on format , after a few warning messages my phone booted into twrp . There I clicked on wipe then format option. After completing when I tapped on reboot , it went into a bootloop showing G logo for a long time. Then I again went back to twrp and wiped everything and flashed the same room using otg . My phone booted up. But during setup , it started saying that looking for a software update for about 20 mins. Then I skipped it and my phone opened. But I couldn't sign into my Google account any more , it says can't connect to server though I have good internet speed. YouTube , playstore , drive , photos i.e. google apps not working . In settings i saw play service not working . I tried to sideload it but failed. I flashed room a couple of times , same happened. Please help me out.
phone charging very fast and heating up while charging
I installed pixel experience rom on my resmi note 4.Before this i was using stock miui rom.It used to take 3 hours to charged completely. But in pixel experience rom the phone is charging completely from zero to hundred in 1hour 10 min.Due to this my phone is heating also. And my battery percentage is also fluctuating.By fluctuating i want to say that it shows 62percent but when i lock my phone and unlock it then it shows 64percent.How my battery can get charged without charging it.then next second it becomes 60.please help me.I am facing this problem after installing pixel experience rom. Before this my phone used to work perfectly fine.please give me aolution
My rear camera is lagging in this rom please tell me how to fix this??

[HELP REQUIRED][URGENT]Procedure for installation of oreo rom on redmi note 3 kenzo.

Hi,
Currently i have RN3 SD with miui 9.5.1.0 based on android MM with zcx recovery and unlocked bootloader using official method. I want to install oreo rom like nos on my rn3 but I don't know the exact process, i have done research related to it and got to know about certain problem like of date encryption when coming from miui roms, flashing of firmware, etc.
Someone plz tell me
1)what is firmware flashing? What firmware needs to be flashed for oreo roms?
2)how to avoid that encryption error?
3) correct procedure for installation of oreo rom like nos, including all the steps that i need to follow to avoid encryption error.
Thanks in advance!?
To avoid encryption error you must format all data from you phone using the recovery
To install a custom rom
1.-download the rom
2.- download opengapps (if rom doesn't pre-include)
3.-format everything from you memory (backup vids, chats, img etc)
4.- once you phone is totally clean flash rom and gapps
If u need more help tell me sorry my inglish hope u understand all

Don't worry about the firmware it doesn't help much anyway so just flash oreo rom and gapps +magisk if you want root access, and you are good to go.
Thank u , flashing right away!!

Flashing NOS..I think it's the best right now..what you think btw the best today for flashing that would serve as a daily driver?
NOS is OK for me, not the best rom ever in terms of SOT but the rom is really stable and the functions added are amazing.
The only thing I regret from other roms and miui is the scrollable screenshot.
BE careful though, Flash ROM and GAPPS without rebooting inbetween.

Yeah i'm having a pretty same experience here, though the rom is pretty impressive and developer has really worked hard but in terms of battery and SoT its really pathetic...i hardly get 4 hours sot and 1:25 hours while playing pubg with 100% charge, it went down to 14%.
But i think its common in every Oreo rom, anyways suggest me some ways/roms to enhance battery life.

I tried different kernels (Agni / Radon / Franco) and they are about the same for me in terms of SOT ... Even playing with frequencies and governor didn't change much.
The only thing I kept is my undervolt on agni : -65mV and the benefit isn't amazing.
I also tried limiting the frequencies (+ UV) but the overall hassle isn't worth it for me.
Apparently the EKM mod in the app section worked for some, for me it was a real nightmare experience ... So I'd rather have a stable 4h SOT with stock performance and have a battery or charger.
TbH I'm only on this Oreo for PIP and the google cam, otherwise I would have stayed on MiUi 9 wih MM but these two features are really awesome for me.

Haha..same here bro! I flashed this just for google cam and apparently the split screen too!?
I'll be trying my ultimate power saving features this weekend not suitable for PUBG but ok for normal use with YT.
- Agni 12.7
- -65mV undervolt on all cores
- Big Cores Disabled
- Little Cores Max Freq 1190Mhz
- GPU max Freq 480 MHz
- ElementalX Governor on CPU
- Mzm on GPU
- Alternative adreno pause
- Brightness : Auto Off and set to 50%
- No GPS and NO BT (when both active they suck battery like crazy for instance 50min of Waze with that kills 25% of battery for me)
-4G ON and Wifi ON ( good signal on both for this test)
I need to tweak the touch boost input not to kick in too hardly don't really know what to change now and I didn't change anything with the memory.

Well "quote=daily Driver "
That depends weather you aRE a Casual User or hardcore user .For me its good for daily driver I get approximately 7.30hr SOT on casual using but again while gaming The Sot is not what it used to be in official MIUI Rom.
But MIUI's performance is not as good as Nitrogen OS performance. So yeh its right choice for daily driver.
I finally finished my test and so far it's good enough ! Better tweaking could improve especially on UV and touchboost as said before but for a minimal impact on performance, perfect stability and ease of implementation it's not so bad !
Here are the screenshots of the results :
Please note that the YouTube usage is mixed I would said about 3/4h with screen ON and 3/4 with screen OFF ! So not that bad

Also the phone was ON for more than 1day without recharging overnight and I lost about 1/2% overnight.
I'm still on my phone (3%...) So I can't edit the tags for the pictures to show correctly :0 sorry

MIUI 11 software update came and disappeared after the download failed.

I got the MIUI 11 update today and somehow at 90 percentage the download was stopped.
Now in the update section I don't have any updates and the phone is still MIUI 10. Anyone know about this?
