[app] [share] plus beat ambient display - OnePlus 6 Themes, Apps, and Mods

First of all this is not my app just sharing all credits goes to @vishal_android freak.
This is true notification led replacement specifically designed for one plus 6T but working perfectly on one plus 6 too and should work on any android devices having ambient display and having amoled display (for batyery saving)
As we all knows notification led is battery consuming and still we cant understand which notification we are receiving as we cants remember notification colours for all apps(though OOS has some color customization) ???.
So this app is simple just using ambient display to shown Notification icons of received notification ( without consuming battery as specific part of display is used)
Here is review and app settings
https://youtu.be/sMUMsd6uy80
Just download app install
Open it give notification access
Then disable battery optimization for this app under battery (don't worry it will not consume battery too much)
Now enable wake up for new notifications under ambient display.
Now disable notifications led blinking under settings
Thats it u can tweak more in app settings
Download app:

One noob question : how can we know that notif led is battery consuming..

It uses power to light up.
However, the amount is nothing to even think about.

But which one is using more power ?
An LED light or some pixels on the display ?
I'm just a little bit curious

Yes using now

I have 19 wakelocks per hour because of this app.
Anyway to reduce that?
Time interval is at 57 seconds

And today more than 30 per hour.
You should do something to reduce them as it's not good with the battery.

Change LED Color For Notification

I always wondered how to change the colors of the led for different notifications but after seeing in the menu that it would only let me turn them on or off i thought i was going to have to use an app to control it. Well I just stumbled across this and thought I would share just in case someone else didnt know this. If you edit a contact it gives you the option of changing the color of the LED for that persons notifications. Hope this helps.
Awesome, thanks!

Yes, i saw that, and is is useful. I want to find a way to customize the led color on an app by app basis.
Is there a way to get the light to work for third party apps like go SMS?

Great it works, i found out for hangout the first blink of led is the stock colour and then goes to the desired colour from lightflow. Is that unavoidable behavior? Is there a chance of turning of LED from lg setting and letting light flow do all the work? It seems to me that will turn off led entirely. Thanks Again

The Xperia Z Ultra behaves the same way so this is normal sony behavior
There are three colors of led during charging: red - from 0 to 15%, orange to 90% and green to 100%.
This happens with my S3 too. I believe it is Android standard

You'll need to hack the android code to change this I believe.

does this for the Z and Z1 mobiles
You can modify it using Charging LED
Another option is to just use Lightflow... Been using it for years so I can get my own LED colours for everything (including battery stuff).

So using LightFlow for custom colors for the notification led works good on Z2?
I'm using LightManager and it works great. It even has alternating led notifications (f.e. mail and msg will trigger two colors).

Does it work when the screen is locked? I noticed my LED turns back to white when my screen is locked but turns to the correct color when unlocked.
Yes it does. Actually it works ONLY when the screen is off (even when testing colors). The moment you unlock your phone it resets all notification. I'm still testing free version but I might go for paid version soon (ad free, not that it bothers me but wanna support devs).

There is a tiny notification LED on the left side in the top "grill". Barely visible, there's a setting for it in notifications tab but not much you can do except enable/disable. Or is this Lite only?

Definitely not on the normal P30, only other thing on the top of the phone other than the camera is the light/proximity sensor
It's a bit annoying not having an LED but I'm using Always On Edge which works nicely for notifications, even managed to get it to circle the notch.
Uses a bit of battery though.
I am using LED Blinker Pro, perfect, even better then a hardware LED !!!

No ?
I dunno if you're still interested, but there is a way to get it to blink more often:
There's an app called Oxygen AOD Mod. It's on the app store, and there's no root. You can set intervals for the horizon light to flash multiple times.

You can root then flash renovate magisk rom that is in telegram for latest, or op7 pro thread for latest stable
Has option to keep screen lights flashing till you view or extended duration
Thank you @heavy95d for this hint :good: the oxygen AOD Mod app looks great and horizon light is working now more than once bedtime (no notification in defined period) also works fine on my OnePlus 7T Pro. only missed calls don't get a notification hint.
battery usage is very low. i had used the app NotifyEdge in the past. also a super app with a beautiful edge lightning. but unfortunately this app drain the battery very fast if lightning is active. so oxygen AOD Mod is the better app for reactivate Horizon Light.
I use the free no-ads Plus Beat app since the OP7TPro day one:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=vaf.vishal.plusbeat&hl=en
No battery drain and it shows also the notification content on the Ambient Display screen, so non need to unlock to read the messages.
Lot of options, also a Do Not Disturb mode to skip notification alerts while sleeping.
However all these similar apps don't show missed calls and apparently interfere with invoking Google assistant by voice.

hmmm i don't have problems with oxygen AOD Mod app and Google voice.
But the Always On Display (AOD) and the Ambient Display are 2 different things: which does Oxygen AOD Mod use?
OnePlus doesn't have yet native AOD (but soon will do), it has Ambient Display but it's launched only once when receiving a notification and it's not repeated furthermore. Repeating it continuously is just what apps like Plus Beat do.

you are right. Oxygen AOD Mod use Always on Display not the Ambient Display from OxygenOS. But this ist not really a problem for me it works well and battery usage is very low and Horizon Light working now with Oxygen AOD Mod. all is fine :good:
but nice to hear OnePlus bring AOD soon :good:

[NEW] aodNotify - Notification Light / LED for OnePlus 8 + No fingerprint visible!

This app was initially developed for Samsung Galaxy devices with Always on Display. As OnePlus devices will also get an Always on Display soon i decided to create a version specially for OnePlus devices. For now the app runs in a compatibility mode as the Always on Display has not been released yet. App is in beta stage currently.
You need a notification light / LED for your OnePlus 8!
With aodNotify you can easily add a notification light / LED to your OnePlus 8!
You can select different notification light styles and show the notification light around the camera cutout, screen edges or even simulate an notification LED dot in the statusbar of your OnePlus 8 or OnePlus 7!
This app hides the fingerprint icon, so the icon can not burn in your screen! Enjoy your notification light!
MAIN FEATURES
• Notification light / LED for OnePlus 8 or OnePlus 7!
• Double tap to wake when notification arrives!
• Charging / Low battery light / LED
MORE FEATURES
• Notification light styles (around camera, screen, LED dot)
• Custom app / contact colors
• ECO animations to save battery
• Interval mode (on/off) to save battery
• Night times to save battery
BATTERY USAGE PER HOUR ~:
• LED - 7.5%
• LED & INTERVAL - 5.5%
• LED & ECO ANIMATION - 3.5%
• LED & ECO ANIMATION & INTERVAL - 2.5%
Without notification light the app consumes almost 0% battery!
DOWNLOAD:
DEVICES
• OnePlus 8
• OnePlus 7 (untested)??
• OnePlus 6 (untested)??
NOTES
• The app is still in beta stage, errors may occur!!
• OnePlus may block this app with future updates!
• Please check if the app is compatible before updating phone software!
• Altough we never experienced any screen burn in issues on our test devices, we recommend to not keep the notification light / LED active for a long time! Use at you own responsibility!

Nice work. It really annoyed me the stupid fingerprint on the screen while the notification light was blinking in other apps like this one. I miss tapping the screen and show the ambient screen (also when you lift the phone). I've seen sometimes a bug that when I unlock the phone the black screen overlays again (tapping the screen once again disables the overlay, it's kind of annoying).
So far nice work.
Feature request: Hover to show the ambient screen
I'd like to see the AOD from 1+ soon, but if the implementation does not convince me I'd seriously consider buying your app.

I'm sure i'm doing this wrong but it's not working. I set the settings but the light doesnt work either on the lockscreen or when the phone is unlocked. The light does work when i do the preview.
Question, /suggestion...any wait to get more neon/brighter colors?
Whats wrong with the "Choose Colour" Option?

Nothing is wrong, I just want more of a vivid or led look for my notifications. Ok happy how they come out. But I think it would be more noticeable with brighter colors
Yes, actually I want this notification app even in deep sleep. Thanks a lot and will buy it after testing.

Great app, coffee on the way
This might be a stretch, but any chance of having a setting for battery life led that flashes when there's a notification?
I love the app. Works great! Great UI, easy to navigate and set everything up. But most of all I'm thankful that when the screen is off, only the notification LED is illuminated, unlike some of the other apps out there. I bought the Pro version and left a 5 star review on the play store.
But there are a few features I would really like to have added:
- to have separate effect options for the styles "phone unlocked" and "on lockscreen". For example I want the LEDs around the camera to pulse normally while the screen is unlocked, but I want the screen edges to be a different effect like shimmer when the screen is off.
- the bedtime mode is great, but I would like to set different times for different days. I want different schedules for week days vs weekends.
- ability to tweak the lights pulsing attributes much like we could back in the day when phones had an actual hardware notification LED and was running CyanogenMod or some other similar ROM. Their LED control was built in the system settings and worked phenomenally. You could edit things like the speed, how slowly the pulse comes in, how slowly it dims, how long it was turned off, etc.
I hope you accept feedback here. Keep up the great work!

First of all thank you, works amazing and had to buy premium, I just have one request if possible, a separate battery charging time indicator, I set the notification light to work for 15 minutes the battery charging light also turns off at 15 minutes and would like for it to be on all the time while the phone is charging and also maybe add a separate color when the battery is fully charged.
Thank you again for the great work.
