Losing performance after last update - Asus ROG Phone Questions & Answers

Hello guys,
After updating from 1.8.2018 update to latest one I am facing performance loses. AnTuTu benchmark result with base firmware was about 298 000 points, but after updating I was able to get only about 275 000. This difference is very drastical.
Do you facing the same problem? I returned to the base firmware after this.
PS: Phone setup was the same each time I was running the benchmark (same apps, same conditions, only firmware was different)

You're using a leaked, unstable ROM so you should therefore expect issues. If you encounter them, instead of making a new thread, read/post in the existing threads dealing with the ROM.
There's currently over 2000 posts in the "main" thread dealing with that ROM, try there.

[Q] P7510 on ICS 4.0.4 (XWLP5): unstable WiFi

Dear all,
I noticed that my P7510 running on ICS 4.0.4 (XWLP5) has an unstable WiFi connection when the received WiFi signal strength is not maximum (2 or 3 out of 4 bars). Connection often disappears and when trying to reconnect to the WiFi network manually, the there is no response. Turning off / on Wifi on my Tab is no solution to the problem either. Even a full reboot does not always help. I updated from HC 3.2 to ICS 4.0.4. after full flasing HC 3.2 first.
Is this a known issue? I cannot find any decent info on this. Or is there a ROM that fixes this? Please help. Thanks in advance.
I had no problem with the WiFi what so ever not with 4.04 and not with cm 10 jelly bean
Did you have that problem on 3.2?
Try and flash the official ICS from sammobile with odin
Thankfor replying. I did not have this issue HC 3.2. I went back to stock HC3.2 and updated via WiFi to official ICS v4.0.4. No official releases for my country for P7510 are available for my Tab, but other official ICS v4.0.4 versions I tried from Sammobile have same issue.
I'm thinking to go to CM 10 release, but since wiping is required and my P7510 has brick bug, I'm hesitating to do this operation.
Try the sammobile UK version that's what iam running and it had no problems
Cm10 is faster than official ics and gives u much more options It's a better experience at least for me except for a bug or tow but some people don't even notice them
About the brick bug I don't know what that is cause I had no problems wiping data so i can't help u their sorry

I already tried UK version from Sammobile, same WiFi issue when signal strength is not maximum. Regarding the brick bug: check this out: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1879941

I don't know what it's not working for you every thing oky with me
About the brick bug....... I just checked and as it turned out I too have the brick bug and I have actually ran EXPERIMENTAL-p4.zip
I have wiped the data and installed custom roms more than I can count......i don't know maybe it's over-rated or iam just lucky!!
Iam afraid to do it again now but he says here "Avoiding brick:
The only danger now seems to bi if you are on stock ICS ROM and you execute factory/data reset in Samsung recovery.
If you are using custom ROMs and CWM you should be safe because all custom ROMs/krenels have now removed mmc_cap_erase() from list of capabilities."
Iam running a custom rom so I don't know.....

4.3 Samsung (Graphics Gaming Issues)

Hello guys , im here because i recently update my s3 to the Sensation rom v9 based on 4.3 official . as many users around i like gaming on my phone, the fact is that i like very much the NFs Most Wanted . i've never had issues with it on previous roms (4.1.2 or 4.2.2) actually is the best graphics ive seen on a mobile racing game.. Now im on 4.3 (i tried the official and some other custom 4.3 roms) and the results are the same. Nfs Mw keeps going so slow. It keeps frezing from time to time, and even some times when im starting the game it force closes. i beleave this i not a game version issue because i tried another versions too. and the result are the same. Maybe this is a kernel problem? (BTW the sensation v9 rom uses 4.3 china kernel mixed up with 4.3 UK files) .. is anyone having this problem with this or any other game?

Marshmallow Lag

Hello everybody!
Today I updated my Z3TC (SGP611, Wifi) from Lolipop to Marshmallow via OTA. After the update I reset the tablet.
Maybe I am crazy but it appears to me, that the entire UI/Performance feels a bit sluggish. Like the FPS in most cases is lower than on Lolipop.
Does anyone else have this problem? Do you recommend to downgrade? If so, is it easy? It is not rooted.
Cheers, Nico
dude...latest versions generally are not 100% stable.I suggest u flash KK 4.4.2 with flashtool.this is the best at least me.both battery and performance.
The lag is noticeable across the tablet and even other phones which received the update
-----------------------------------------------------
Tapatalked from Sony Xperia Z1
Stock LP 5.1.1 | Root | Deodex | Cam Mods | MX ROM
SGP611 no lag here, try wiping cache/dalvik cache or do a clean install
As a rule of thumb I always factory reset after an update. Experience tells me it improves performance and stability across several brands and devices.

Downgrading to a stable version

Hello!
I have been using Cyanogenmod 12.1 and 13 as my daily drivers. While I deeply appreciate the work that has been put into it, it never reached the "stable and fast enough" state for me, and the instability and bugs (GPS fix, crashes) have not become better over time in my opinion.
So I would like to downgrade to a stable version that compromises well between reliability and still is recent enough, app permission management is important to me.
I have read threads like these, and KitKat 4.4.4 looks viable:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/help/steps-flashing-salimsaber-4-4-4-please-t3419543
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/help/best-kitkat-rom-t3403207
The recommendation seems to be Slimsaber 4.4.4 by Fusionjack with DorimanX kernel. What do you guys think, is that a good choice for me? Maybe another Lollipop or Marshmallow version instead?
A few questions on how I should go about it:
Is my 1 GB repit fine or should I lower it again to 512 MB?
I have IsoRec-TWRP-2.8.7.0-20160113 installed, can I use that or should I flash another version first?
Anything else that I am missing for downgrading that is not mentioned in the installation instructions?
Thanks a lot in advance!

Hello, i am doing the same thing due to exact reasons.
I tried those 4.4.x roms some time ago. They seem stable but battery life time for me it is bad.
I am going to NeatRom, stock S2 Rom, it worked real good for me, no crashes, v good battery life.
It shouldnt affect the installation your partition size.
You can downgrade from any kernel.
I had cm 12 and went to ics with no problem.
Thanks for your answer! I'm fine with the battery life mostly, if my phone lasts a day I can deal with that, and it does.
ICS feels a bit outdated to me, it will probably be KK or newer. It's very hard to assess which ROM and Kernel are suited for me, though...
Update for any who might be in a similar situation as me: I went through with it. Left my system at 1 GB, flashed Slimsaber 4.4.4 according to the description, tested everything, then also flashed the DorimanX kernel. All is buttery smooth so far, a lot faster than before (even Pokemon GO stutters way less, hehehe). I can recommend it a lot.
