My build number is SHT-W09 8.0.0.0.163(C432)
My bootloader is unlocked, I have TWRP installed, and a treble rom installed. Is it worth updating my firmware? How do I go about doing that?
I am also wanting to do this, as is this same question here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mediapad-m5/help/how-to-update-kernel-treble-device-t3879767
Not found an answer yet. Today I tried to download the full OTA of B193, used the Firmware Extractor tool, and then in fastboot, I tried to flash Kernel (OK), Ramdisk(OK), Vendor (failed). When I rebooted, it's still showing the previous version of base.
My reason for flashing, is I want the latest security updates in the KERNEL as well as the security updates in the OS (Running PHussons Pie 9.0 build, and it's rock solid stable)

Hello everyone,
I rooted my OnePlus X using Kingroot. Now that the update for Marshmallow is available, I am willing to update my unit to the same. I had unrooted my device using the SuperSU app. After that, I unlocked my bootloader and tried to boot to TWRP and install OTA update, no success. I also tried installing the update via stock recovery but it shows installation failed.
Also tried resetting my device and then installing the update but no dice. Nor do I have the unrooted backup. Also, have changed the system font.
Tried searching the forums. Please tell me how can I update to the official Marshmallow latest build?
Device Information:
Oxygen OS version: 2.1.3-x
Bootloader State: Unlocked
Recovery: Stock
Thanks in advance!
You need this update file. Because rooted your opx!

What about the system font? And will I get OTA updates as I have unlocked my device's bootloader?

Doubts? Feel free to ask
I suggest you go step by step, from 2.1.3 upgrade to 2.1.4, move to 2.2.2 then 2.2.3, finally the MM, It worked in my case, I was also on 2.1.3 and faced trouble.. Hope it helps you.
Infact, after upgrading to 2.2.2, the system should have been unrooted. Just flash stock Lollipop recovery and leave it. You should get the rest of the updates as OTA immediately.

Did you check that the OEM unlocking was enabled after you unlocked the bootloader? Maybe that can be a problem. And I guess flashing the OOS Marshmallow build is possible only with the stock recovery (if you do not want to delete some lines from the code). So I'd stick to stock recovery if I want to update the OOS.

I guess this is more logical to do right now. Maybe it's something in the system that can be overwritten after upgrading to OOS 2.2.2. Because when I flashed the beta testing ROM on my device when I had the OOS 2.2.2, it worked just fine. But I guess it won't work if you don't have an older version of OxygenOS because of the small tweaks

You could just update the ROM by checking for updates in the about phone
Just wanted to post my experience with the recent ota.
Yesterday I received Ota notification for 8.1.2.0 on Global stable mi5
The setup of my mi5 was global stable 8.0.5.0 with systemless supersu n suhide + official twrp
It failed to install couple of times. I tried to open to open the Ota zip, but it was encrypted.
Offical twrp couldn't flash it.
So googled for twrp with miui Ota support.
I found zcx twrp for mi5. It has the feature that supports reboot from updater app to flash Ota.
It failed again but now I can see the failure log in twrp. It was boot size mismatch.
Aah! Xiaomi now checking boot also while flashing Ota.
Left the whole Ota business and downloaded the full ROM and checked it's update script, no checks there! Cool.
Flashed it in twrp, peace of mind.
Whole thing done in 10 mins.
Rooted back again.
Suggestion: don't use incremental Ota unless you have nothing touched in the phone. Better go for full ROM.
But not everybody can afford to download full ROM.
Does anybody know how to decrypt Ota zip? Then atleast I can modify the update script to make it work
I want to restore my Moto Z XT1650-03 to factory state so I'm looking for the official RETEU firmware.
Currently, the bootloader is unlocked and I have 7.0.0 installed with no-verity patch. Otherwise, stock.
I have the 7.1.1 OTA notification but it fails to install. I think the reason might be because of the no-verity patch or because of the unlocked bootloader.
I am looking for the correct firmware for my phone. (RETEU)
Help would be appreciated.
I've the same problems. OTA Update always made an error, even after reset all data.
I tried to flash like described in other thread (HOW TO UPDATE....), managed to flash older NPLS25.86-30-12 and then sideload the 7.1.1 update. All seemed to be fine, until the next reboot of device, then boot loop (?!).
Now I'm even unable to reflash the 7.0 because of a downgrade error... I didn't made any greater changes, only the open bootloader.
Flash 7.0 firmware stock, remove lines command GTP and Bootloader in Script

Worked on me.
Hey guys,
I've got a MediaPad M5 Pro (CMR-AL19C432) wih an unlocked bootloader and have been running a (now abandoned) version of CarbonROM from OpenKirin (EMUI 8.0-based) for about a year. I wanted to switch to the latest OmniROM version offered by OpenKirin (EMUI 9.0 based) and in order to do so, was told in the OpenKirin support chat on Telegram that I needed to go back to stock EMUI 8.0, upgrade from there to EMUI 9.0 and could then flash OmniROM. SO far, so good.
I downloaded the latest EMUI 8.0 based FullOTA (B196 from March of 2019) from the pro-teammt.ru website, extracted the appropriate files from the update.app and flashed them through fastboot. I flashed system.img, ramdisk.img, kernel.img and recovery_ramdis.img (the latter two which may or may not have been stupid, there is a guid on the OpenKirin website on how to flash files from a stock ROM and it lists those four files, so I flashed them all), then did a factory reset/data wipe in Huawei eRecovery.
This resulted in a boot loop (the EMUI 8.0 boot animation and sound come up, then the device reboots).
I also tried flashing the same four files from the B196 from January of 2019 and B161 (which I believe is what the latest version I had on the device before going over to OpenKirin), with the same results.
I purchased a three-day version of DC Phoenix, hoping I might be able to fix things that way, but it won't flash any of the FullOTA update.app files, claiming those can't be flashed and the site doesn't offer any flashable ROM for my device (only for CMR-AL09).
I'm at the end of my rope here and would appreciate any help in turning my device back into a usable tablet from being a paperweight right now.
The fix you are looking for is here!

Grab one of these and try a flash with the dload on sdcard method.
Just a note, this will relock your bootloader. Just redo the oem unlock with fastboot with the old code, the code will be the same as before.

Hi all,
I followed the updates and bugs of the new version and decided to keep my pie system until annoying bugs for me would have gone, so I've decided that is the right time for a clean flash of my device.
I'm currently on stock rom, with unlocked bootloader, magisk and much more.
I wanted to ask how can I do a clean flash of the latest version of the released Android 10, in a way that I erase everything on my phone, put the new rom, and keep magisk and unlocked bootloader.
If I flash through the fastboot image, I get to unlock the bootloader again? How does it work with double partition and the newest android versions?
I miss my opo with lineage and no partitions or recovery problems
