Hello
I have c137 EMUI so android EMUI 8.1
I like using a lot MODE PRO it remind me RICOH GR and snapfocus.
I don't mean p20 pro have snapfocus but that s why I use a lot MODE PRO.
My setup.
MODE PRO
MODE MF and I choose focus on my screen then I don't set it anymore (always around at right near paysage icon of the bar).
ISO is on auto like TAV MODE on RICOH GR CAMERA.
SPEED SHUTTER is set at 1/1600s than my subject are sharp.
When I take picture, focus was OK. I check the picture in gallery and zoom if focus was OK. I press back for to go back camera and my nexts pictures is out of focus until I don't set focus one more time. It's really tiring.
It happen samething when phone turn off or camera go stand by.

When I set focus on subject in pro mode manual and I take picture, it's sharp. I look at picture in gallery and go back to camera, and take same picture again, it's out of focus.. It happen same thing when phone stand by (or I press off).
Seem p20 pro keep in memory all settings (Iso, speed, etc...) but not the focus.
I even made a video:

Do you have this issue?

So, this just happened now. I am watching the Raptors vs Bucks game, and during the timeout I was playing with the camera app, and I suddenly remembered something that I found out when I had the P20 Pro and totally forgot about until now.
So here's the thing, to get even better results out of your camera, simply switch to the pro mode within the camera app, don't tinker with the settings, you only have to switch to the mode and leave everything untouched, and you will get more detailed with better colors pictures out of your phone. I only tested it out now, indoors in my room, and the two pictures I'll post down below will speak for themselves, but if this trick work as good as it did on my old P20 Pro, then I expect better pictures in all scenarios.
Good luck, and hope this trick helps everyone who reads this post.
Cheers.
r u sure you didn't use AI when you didn't use PRO mode?
I have better photo also if I switch from AI on to AI off...Anyway I'm going to try...

The first one(on the left) was taken in Pro mode without changing anything in the settings, and the second one was taken in Auto mode with AI off.
The difference is because they use different meetering modes
As above. To give an example of this, when I switched from normal mode to pro mode just now (at 5.6x zoom) it switched back from the periscope lens to the normal lens as the parameters that Pro mode wanted couldn't be effectively achieved using the zoom lens.
I am pretty new to the Poco F1 and have a questtion about the camera:
When I try to make a macro picture of something pretty small (photo in attachment) I can't get that close as I want because the camera won't focus anymore.
Is this normal for this phone? With my old (Huawei p9 lite) one I could get much closer to the objects.
Now I have to edit the picture and zoom in.
Thank you
I've found the exact same thing. My Samsung S7 and a friends Huawei were both able to get a lot closer on macro mode.
I can't get nearly as close as I used to get before the camera goes out of focus.
Try manual focus in Pro Mode
No, that also didn't work. The closest shot on the keyboard is in the second picture.
I can't get any closer and focus on the "0".
Btw the keyboard looks really dirty
Hi,
I never used a smartphone with two or three camera before and my choice for a new smartphone was the P30 lite 48MP version.
I have some question about the camera.
First, I hate the portrait mode effect on the front camera. The seperation between the face and the background is not pleasant to my eyes. How do you actually disable this mode. Should I shoot in photo and also disable AI? The AI is also doing the same effect as the portrait mode. With other apps, there is no bokeh or blur effect.
Secondly, How does the first (Back) camera sensor works? I mean, I tried to put my finger in front of the camera and take several picture in different mode. Everytime, I get a picture without my finger. If you are shooting in normal condition, shouldn't it be using the main camera?
Thanks

Someone from Huawei Service replied to my question today and I quote
"Hi! Thank you for supporting Huawei Products, we understand your situation right now. We highly recommend for you to switch to photo mode and turn off the AI mode as you take your selfies to have no bokeh or blur effect on the background. On your second question, Please be informed that the first camera sensor is the 2MP Bokeh Lens. It is used to have an effect of a soft out-of-focus background that you get when shooting a subject. These are functioning as you use portrait mode and as you use the Pro Mode and adjust the manual focus for your subjects. Thank you and have a great day."

Same problem on v. 7.3.020 by onfire , freeze screen on video mode. Tap screen after screen be black, switch the zoom to right and video work normal. And f zoom in camera mode switch to >1x and then go to video mode, no problem found. May any way to add minimum zoom limit option in setting or make default zoom setting value is 1.1x.

Hi @nickadsy, this thread is being closed since a GCam thread already exists. Kindly continue the discussion in this thread. Having multiple threads for different versions of the same mod is not productive, and it's better to have one single thread where the discussion can take place.
Have a nice day!
