Hi there,
I am new here and once the Stable Android 9.0 was released I start reading about flashing Samsung firmware.
I almost understood it all, but just to make sure, I still have a question.
Currently, my phone it's on BRJ3(UK) CSC and I'm using the phone in Romania.
Is there any particular reason I shouldn't flash the Germany update? Does this CSC count as something?
follow this guide, is very easy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SVhR0E9ACnY

Hi everyone, I am new here. I just returned i9100g for a i9100. Anyways as I look for the i9100 firmware at sammobile.com, there are tons of ICS available. Which one will I install?
Also I am in Bangladesh, however we get mixed region phones: Sometimes from Malaysia, Singapore, France, etc. How do I know which region I have, so it can guide to install the proper ICS.
I installed XXLPJ, everything works well, however I noticed that just like my initial i9100g, whenever I use the voice to setup alarm, it doesn't work. I fixed this problem when I installed the proper region firmware for my phone, which was French at that time. The problem is I don't know which region of the phone this actually is.
Any idea?
Thank you
I dont think different regional firmwares will make any difference in your alarm settings too...
you can check the firmware information by dailing *#1234#
ROM selection
you can have a look for the language supported by that rom, you can also go for custom rom, language information was given there that it support these many language.
Also i am agree with "zaheedahmed" that "regional firmwares will make any difference in your alarm settings" i guess this the bug with that version of ROM, so it better to upgrade your ROM.
Thanks for your responses. What do I need to look after after for the latest firmware, android version? Cause there are tons of 4.0.3

or your can root your phone and install any custom ICS rom...go for any popular one after reading reviews of the respective ROM thread
Hello everyone,
I have a south Korea:
Device spec:
S9 plus G965M with Exynos 9810 and says SK Telecom in the start but I think it's unlocked because I have my Portuguese sim card inside and it's working here in Portugal
Band name Ron : G965N KSU 1ARJ1
This
I've went thru a lot of threads but I got flooded with so many information that I'm afraid of the steps to do.
Main goal:
1. Use the phone in Europe / Portugal
2. Change the ROM because even with reset and English chosen, Android has a lot of menus in Korean
3. Even boot loader for Odin is Korean.
4. Install Android pie 9.0 and continue to receive updates. This phone is stopped in October patch. I think it won't update unless I put a Korean sim
Since the current official ROM 9.0 with oneUI and Pie is for 965F and not 965N (mine), and since N partition is smaller, where should I start or how?
10. Should I start with CSC change? Will that change partition also? To what CSC then?
11. Root? TWRP? Custom ROM?
12. I don't care about Samsung pay, but will I lose VoltLTE?
Thanks a lot for your time.
Hi folks,,,
At first excuse my language just plz try to keep up with me to get help
So I bought an used S9 plus Duos, inside its G965F...software info, build number its also G965F,, outside on the back G965F made in Vietnam,,, i discovered that's there is root and its on February security patch i tried to unroot it using Odin,,,the where i discovered its G965N!!!! Tried to continue by downloading official g965N firmware (pie 9) ... when the device restarted after using odin the phone working or showing just one sim even it was working just fine and even I used pie firmware its went back to oreo!!!
Plz ... Biiiig plz I need advices and solutions,,, I want to clean the root, I want to get updates ... and I want to get both of sim 1 and sim 2 work

1: cool, super easy and it sounds like you got it taken care of anyways
2: it’s a Exynos processor, so you should be able to root it and throw whatever ROM you want on it
3: if it’s a Korean model it should accept a G965F firmware flash in Odin which isnt a korean bootloader, and even if its not compatible, Odin will just fail out on the flash unless you have the modded version of Odin that is designed to ignore version mismatch errors and flash anyways
4: manually update it with Odin and don’t fiddle with the carrier specific needs for updates
What happened to 5 through 9?? (kidding, I can read between the lines)
10: CSC stands for country specific product code, or something like that. It tells the phone what market it is supposed to be intended for
11: sure, if you want, but youll trip knox if you do. sure. if youd like to, youre welcome to do that
12: SPay can be wonky depending on your CSC, but voLTE is a firmware/carrier specific. I have a regular S9 that i purchased from Cricket (united states MVNO carrier) and it had voLTE when i got it, but i flashed the G960U1 firmware (the "U1" iteration is the snapdragon unbranded version) and voLTE and WiFi calling are now both gone from my menu

oh, and youre not gonna change the partition size to anything bigger than it came with. When you Odin flash the firmware, it wont change the amount of internal storage available unless you inadvertently shrunk it with a firmware flash of a smaller storage base phone, which seems unlikely. This was more common in the standard 16gb internal storage days. If the internal storage amnt is incorrect after a firmware flash, factory reset it in stock recovery and that should correct the issue

Hello!
Im sorry to tell you that a I didnt find solution ?
As Pie is being distributed, the UK are still waiting for their 'slice' of pie. I am on EE (T-Mobile) can I download another countries ROM? I did flash a different country ROM on my S7 years ago and it worked fine but just wondering if anyone has tried it with Pie?

I've flashed the German version (crl1) and working fine but I am on the international device (BTU) so you might need a different version? Sorry I can't be more sure!
If you can find the right version then research how to use Odin and download the software from Sammobile.
Last thing is when it is released in the UK, you will need fo ensure you flash back to a UK version to recieve OTA updates going forward
Hello!
First of all, I'm a novice and have no knowledge of how the firmware is constructed, e.g. wrt any dependencies between BL, AP, CP and CSC. I've searched the S9+ forums without finding answers - I have however found threads concerning downgrading but they seem not to answer my exact question.
I'm currently on the latest build of Android 10 for my region (SM-G965F, 965FXXU7DTAA). Completely stock, no modifications.
I read in an S7 thread that someone had been able to downgrade to a previous FW version with a lower BL version than the phone currently was on by doing the following:
- downloading and extracting the FW wanted
- removing the sboot and the modem parts of the firmware
- repacking the remaining parts
- flashing with odin
According to him/her, this worked, the phone booted succesfully, even though he/she at that point hadn't yet tested it to the full extent and in all aspects.
My question: Would this even be possible for the S9+? I.e. only flashing the AP and CSC parts of the desired FW via Odin while leaving BL and CP parts untouched? Would it even work, and if so, is it possible to say/know anything about adverse effects. Is the phone likely to brick? Knox?
Excuse me if this is obvious to you all, but I'm curious about this as I am currently not satisfied with Android 10.
I should add that I'm aware that it is currently possible to downgrade to latest version of Pie the "regular way", but I'm looking for options, if any, to go even further back

admittedly, i TL : DR all of it, but on the S7, downgrading the bootloader was possible for a while, thats not the case here. You can only flash F/W with the same or higher BL version. If there is an android 9 version available with the same BL, then you can flash it all you like. www.sammobile.com/firmwares is where you need to go to look. But use the frija tool or SamFirm to actually d/l the zip unless you like wasting 2 hours of your life
Thanks for the reply
I'm aware that I am able to downgrade to the latest version of Pie, which has the same version BL as my current Android 10. But my question is rather if it is possible at all to flash only the AP and CSC sections of a previous FW (with lower BL version) and leave the current Android 10 BL and AP untouched as it is on the phone?
Sorry if I was unclear in my first post

As long as the previous firmware is the same bit number you can flash either. You would have to flash all the files as the 10 bootloader more than likely isn't going to boot pie. 5th Digit from the far end of build is your bit number.
Thank you for your reply - good input wrt 'bootability'.
I'll downgrade to the latest version of Pie the regular way.

Hi,
I bought a G850EMW from China to work in the UK. It has Android 10 and works perfectly. However I would like to update to Android 12. I have seen guides for this involving downloading a Rom from LGRom.com.
My current phone is running "V20a-LAO-COM". LAO seems to be hard to find information about, and there are no LAO roms on the site. I saw on one forum a reference to "Latin Amercian Region".
My question is can I go ahead and flash my phone with a Rom from say Germany (DEU) or will this cause a problem (is this a "cross-flash") as I'm supposed to find a compatible "LAO" region firmware? I don't want to brick my phone, but I would like the latest security updates, battery improvements, etc.
Thank you.
