Yes, unlocking bootloader using Asus unlock tool will void your warranty. You won't get ota and cannot relock the bootloader. But if you unlock by unofficial methods, you can relock and get your warranty back.
There is no option for OEM unlock

I have not done it but have read more than one person post that the v6 tool downloaded from ASUS run on the JB updated Prime worked for them.
And you want to do this??

The v6 tool downloaded from ASUS worked for me to unlock after I had upgraded to JB.
Glad it did! It was the only way I could get root.

It voids your asus warranty but yes, you have to do this to replace the rom.

i have read about some people who unlocked after jb-update successfully. but one guy bricked his prime doing so... unlocktool v6 is for ics only, so this is on your own risk

After I unlocked the bootloader using the Asus Unlock Tool V6 in JB, I then flashed TRWP v2.2.2.1 (for JB) using the FastBoot method they have listed on their website. I then flashed the CWM/TWRP recovery version of SuperSU v0.96 and I had Root. Worked perfect for me.
If seen some people say you could brick your prime by trying to unlock it in JB, but I had to issues at all.

You can't flash a custom recovery unless you are unlocked!

everyone has fast boot enabled what will happen is the rom will not be signed and will not match the bootloader signature and you will not be able to flash that's what I unlock is for
Do I have to flash China developer ROM before unlocking the bootloader officially through the MIUI update? Can use the latest stable global to unlock?
And will unlocking the bootloader with the official method erase all data? (Factory reset)

for me global developer rom worked for unlocking the bootloader.
NO it did not erase any data for me using official method.

You will get approval sms then install Mi Unlock Tool on PC. Connect mobile in fastboot mode. You can go to fastboot mode by pressing volume down + power button. And then click on unlock button in Mi unlock Tool.

Before sending your request you must write a raison why you want unlock your bootloader. The problem is that i don't know what to tell them lol

Tell them that your device got bootloop. They accept this reason. Or tell them you want to root your device. I also told I want to root my Redmi Note 3.

how can i root my phone with an unlocked bootloader
I have kenzo with cm13 installed and BL unlocked unofficially. And i want to try official cm14. But it needs my kenzo unlocked officially because i want to follow all strix's instruction. So idecided to unlock my phone officially. I already have permission to unlock my phone. And i have two question:
1. Do i need to flash my kenzo to stock ROM to unlock officially?
2. How long am i allowed to unlock my phone with the permission?

1. You need a developer ROM version for unlocking the bootloader officially.
2. According to Mi Unlock Policy, you can use the permission for one month before it runs invalid. If it runs invalid, you need to re-apply for the permission, then unlock the bootloader.

I've applied for unlocking months ago and i can unlock the bl anytime i want just be careful that it requires a sms verification code when changing computers, so keep your phone working while you do that, or Mi Flash won't work.
Afaik, it doesn't require any special things for unlocking the bl, it will work no matter what you have installed on it, goos luck unlocking.

Guys, it has been said many times...
Only for the first time unlocking you might need to flash china/global dev to unlock it via fastboot.
To do that, simply boot in fastboot, boot in EDL, flash with MiFlash latest china dev fastboot ROM, flash zcx TWRP and then you can flash whatever you want, if BL gets locked anytime again while flashing (phone will blink and turn off), just boot in fastboot (only thing you can do at that point), run MiFlashUnlock, sign in, unlock, reboot)
Thats it, couldnt be more simple

No, you do not need developer rom afaik to unlock the bootloader, probably he just meant that you have to enable usb debugging from developer settings, that's a must.

Just try unlocking it with mi flash and see if anythinf goes wrong thru the process, you simply cannot screw the device with anything by doing that, if anything goes wrong and you can't unlock the device post it here so we can help you forward with the process, good luck.

My bad, guys over 4PDA forum unlocked it using HCU Client not DC-Unlocker
IMPORTANT: Before proceeding, enable "manufacturer mode" on your phone. This is done by entering in dial pad code *#*#2846579#*#* select "Project Menu", "Background settings", "USB ports settings", "Manufacture mode". Then connect it to PC and Hisuite for drivers.
TWRP 3.2.1 for Honor 7C LND-L29 (any Honor 7C with 5.99'' screen size)

You asked the same question 2 weeks ago and I told you that there's only the official way. There simply is no other way to do it and everybody successfully unlocked their phones using Mi Unlock Tool.
If you are getting an error message when you try to unlock your phone, we can help you out.
