No, ist doesn't have LED notification...
In terms of hardware we do have a LED up at the speaker, but it doesn't work for notifications. I guess they want us to use "moto display" instead.

Thanks, I'll try it tomorrow or so. I noticed in kernel manager EX that there's a bunch of "triggers" to choose from for the led, like usb-online, charging, etc. Now I've set it to "battery-charging-blink-full-solid" which I guess means blinking while charging and solid when it's full.
Let's see how that works.
I tried the "FrontFlash Notification" and it seems to be working fine, but for me it's just too bright for having as notification led as it uses the camera flash. Uninstalled it.
I'll continuing using the "hidden" led as a battery charging notification though.
hi please tell how to the led notification in moto one macro

Hi all,
I've noticed there are several different LED colors that appear for notifications.
Was just wondering if anyone had figured out which color corresponds to which notification?
Because sometimes the light is blue, green or white? Can't decide which color is for what
Thanks guys

There is not much informations on that page.
When you plug the charger, led will red if battery level is btw 0 and 90%, above 90% its green (even at 100, it still show green-i dont like that).
When you download any app on market, led will blink...
The notification LED can be controlled based on what the app wants. FB can make a blue LED, Whatsapp and general notifications are green, charging is yellow, fatal errors are red, white I've seen on different apps, so it really depends on your app usage. You can't control it directly though settings or anything.
Thanks all for your answers.
Does anyone know of an app in the market which enables you to take control of the LED color? So I can set the LED to flash a set color for certain apps?
Thanks again everyone.
Light Flow works, but you gotta go into
General settings for the app and enable "Direct Mode"
It also asks for root and accessibility settings enabled, but it does work

my phone is xperia tipo ICS 4.0.4
I am new to android and dont know anything about rooting, rom, flash and other stuff of android.
can you advise me a efficient and a easy way to solve this problem.
Not: can i downgrade from ICS to Ginger Bread ???
How do I make the Xperia U LED work in CyanogenMod 9.1? I remember it sometimes turned yellow for unknown reasons, but Illumination Bar Notifications app doesn't fix it.
In the CM 9.1 settings there are options for the notification light, and I can set it and test it - it lights up when I test, but doesn't work on the back, home, etc. buttons.
Bump.
Illumination Bar Notifications app says that General Settings are for Xperia U only. So it doesn't recognize or something...
In my opinion only dev can make them work like stock.

Anyone here with working LED for their U?
The LED turns yellow when charging, and green when charged. Also white when the phone is turned on.

Sent from my LT22i using xda app-developers app
I 'm using. 54 stock rom from factory
just repaired it with pc companion but nothing at all... when i get a notification the led blink up but just once and then off... any idea?
Try any led control software to check hardware site of this problem, for ex. "Light Flow Lite". I think in these Xperias are two or more leds, maybe one of them is dead?
already tried lightflow, led blinker and etc...
The Led on it's own working.. so there's only software problem..

Hmm yeah but I dont understand why you need the apps, Sony put built in LED notification
yes, thats not working..
As I said, there's probably more than one led inside your phone, so if one is good (for ex. yellow, green and white colours) the other one may be broken - then (that's an ex.) violet won't work.
Try using some app to change led color for all notifications to red (because red is working for you when charging), then check.
Sorry for bad english, I'm from Poland ^^.

Hi !
I have same pb with my Xp P. Using Light Manager notifications work (whatever the color), but ONLY if connected to my laptop via USB (not tried connected to power)...
If I disconnect..., does not work any more...!!??
Any idea ?
Is that something to do with any power management parameter...??
I always wondered how to change the colors of the led for different notifications but after seeing in the menu that it would only let me turn them on or off i thought i was going to have to use an app to control it. Well I just stumbled across this and thought I would share just in case someone else didnt know this. If you edit a contact it gives you the option of changing the color of the LED for that persons notifications. Hope this helps.
Awesome, thanks!

Yes, i saw that, and is is useful. I want to find a way to customize the led color on an app by app basis.
Is there a way to get the light to work for third party apps like go SMS?

Great it works, i found out for hangout the first blink of led is the stock colour and then goes to the desired colour from lightflow. Is that unavoidable behavior? Is there a chance of turning of LED from lg setting and letting light flow do all the work? It seems to me that will turn off led entirely. Thanks Again

Has anyone got a picture or video of the P780 notification LED? What colour does the light flash and is it big and bright like a Samsung Galaxy Note II or small and tiny like a Huawei Ascend P6?
Looked on YouTube and lots of reviews but nobody showing the notification light.
Also, does anyone have a link to the full user manual? Can only find the basic one on the Lenovo website.

Thanks Jackal331. Does the LED work for email and WhatsApp? I have stock ROW_119 installed and the LED only lights for missed calls and sms. Can't get it to light with anything else and no apps (like Lightflow) work with it either.

So far, I tested the LED, it only works for Calls, SMS, WeChat, Charging mode, all other else doesn't lit up. (Facebook, LINE, KakaoTalk, WhatsApp, Gmail etc...)

Thanks Soralz. Which ROM are you using? Don't know why Lenovo disable WhatsApp and Email LED notification
Maybe notification LED is fixed in S123 ROM or future KitKat 4.4 upgrade.
I will test this and let you know, I don't make use of the led very much. Will test FB and Gmail, I'm on SLX rom, it has many tweaks also GravityBox maybe it works there dunno.
is the notification led really very dim? is there any 3rd party app that can control it?

The LED is not so dim but it is inside the earpiece so angles are not as good as a BlackBerry or Galaxy Note 2 which you can see from across the room. However, the P780 LED is bigger than the one in the HTC One which has a tiny LED like a speck of dust which is pretty much useless.
Because the LED is inside the earpiece, you can put a case on and still see notifications which is good. I think the LED is fine for brightness but the big problem is that it only lights up for missed calls and sms and charging. It doesn't light for emails or facebook or whatsapp and I haven't found any app that can even lit up the LED let alone control it.
There are some custom ROMs that can control the LED using Light Flow such as http://forum.xda-developers.com/lenovo-p780/development/aosp-rom-lenovo-p780-t2722977 and http://www.needrom.com/mobile/lenovo-p780-6/.
I will try Light Flow again tonight using the settings in those ROM, the LED must be controllable somehow, it's stupid having LED with no email or facebook or whatsapp notification
yes, email notification is a must for the led,
also notice it doesn't blink, just light up, what a waste

Don't mind if it doesn't blink, as long as it comes on, thats fine.
Ok, I downloaded Lightflow Lite from the Play Store to test and this works if you use the HTC direct mode in Lightflow settings. This makes the LED blink in test mode BUT if you switch the screen off, it stops flashing. I think there is a power setting somewhere to keep Lightflow active when the screen is locked but the app doesn't show in the Lenovo power app whitelist.
Also, with HTC direct mode, there is no choice of colours for the LED, you are limited to just green which is fine by me but definitely need to have the LED lighting up when the screen is off. Will continue playing around with it to see if I can get it working.
Just updated to stock 124 and the LED still doesn't work
Why don't Lenovo fix this simple thing? Samsung, LG, HTC, everyone lese has the LED lighting up on all events and Lenovo have to ruin a great phone by buggy implementation
Have been messing around the Lightflow and can confirm that Gmail works if you have root and HTC Direct mode enabled. Doesn't work at all with standard Lenovo Email app though.

The light is not bright like a Blackberry and has no viewing angles but it's not at all bad, the good thing is that it is in the earpiece so you can still see it even with a cover on. I prefer a proper LED to something like NoLed which will switch on the whole screen to make a notification and drain the battery.
