CM12.1 Bootloop

So, i;ve repartitioned my phone, and tried to install cm11...all good...., ..but with cm12.1 it seems it have a problem.
I tried, reflash/full wipe/format system , data ( preload i cant format ..it gives me this error )
formatting /preload....
E:format_volume: make_extf4fs failed on /dev/block/mmcblk0p12
Error formatting /preload
When im installing cm12..at the end i get this error : warning: no file_contexts detected filesystem ext4 for /dev/block/mmcblk0p12 ..but at the end it says that the script was succesfully installed
I thinks ..i get bootloop because of the repartition...how do i fix this ? ..can someone help me ?
The error indicates, that /preload partition is not having a proper ext4 filesystem. This is strange, as imo CM doesn't need this partition.
Try to flash a different recovery like TWRP (Link in CM12.1 Thread) and format /preload in there.
Afterwards I would wipe /system and /data and then flash CM12.1.
disclaimer: formatting /data or sdcard0 will result in loosing all your data, so backup your data before doing so.

Did you format /system /data and sdcard0 after re partitioning? Don't forget to flash a ROM or Kernel after formatting /system, because formatting deletes your recovery.

well..i did ...sdcard0 trough windows i think... is it because of that?..i thinks its fat32
Sorry, pls read my edited post. That may be more helpful.
But I would not suggest formatting sdcard0 through windows. I would suggest formatting it inside the recovery with vfat (fat32).
But that shouldn't be the cause of this problem.
well, i did format it with twrp ..doesnt show me any error..but i still get a bootloop
Okay, so the first problem is solved.
I then would suggest wiping /system /data /cache out of TWRP and then flash CM12.1 again.
diclaimer: wiping /data will delete your App data
welll..i did...still doesnt work..bootloop/.
Booting up CM12.1 for the first time may take some minutes. Are you sure you got a bootloop`?
i waited 10 minutes...
Did you try again, wiping all above mentioned and reflashing CM12.1?

ill try it right now

Use this guide for repartition by @gsstudios , and format your partitions correctly (ext4 cache, data, sys & vfat/fat32 sdcard0 your internal storage) . worked for me 1 gb system, 3 gb data!

Did you try formatting again like ultravy suggested?
yes
i have used the modified preload pit files I9100_6GB data - 45mb preload.pit
still bootloop
detected filesystem ext4 for /dev/block/mmcblk0p9
detected filesystem ext4 for /dev/block/mmcblk0p10
Patginking system image unconditionally...
Script succeeded: result was [0.20000]
How big is your /system partition with that PIT?
Else I don't know what's wrong here.
8gb system
Are you sure? Because that would lead to like 2-3GB left on sdcard0, when /system is 8 and /data 6. Stck /system is 512MB and suggested when repitting is 1GB or 1.5GB.
its working now..please close this topic
Thank you !

Moto E unable to mount internal storage

Somebody pliz help me, my phone XT1022 rootted suddenly gone blank, in recovery said no OS installed, unable to mount ( data system etc), and internal storage is 0mb, and i have tried to format system via fastboot it say unable to format system file system with type "raw"
please help guys..
Install TWRP and wipe data, If you haven't already.
im already install twrp, so in twrp it say no os, can't mount data etc
try formatting it to ext4
Try flashing the stock rom of the xt1022 but with out the revcovery an flash the custom rom that you want
format ext4 for what? my internal has 0mb and if I format, it said cannot format filesystem type raw

Formatted /system in TWRP without decrypting internal memory, cannot decrypt now

I have an Xperia XA2 with LOS 15.1 installed before. It had a PIN password so internal memory was encrypted.
After a failed update, I attempted to restore a TWRP backup. After that, my phone cannot even get past the Sony screen.
Then I formatted /system, /data, etc, and then flashed the LOS 15.1 zip and TWRP.
Now I'm stuck at the LOS boot screen and TWRP won't offer me to input my previous password for decrypting internal memory.
I have tried using the command 'twrp decrypt <password>' and it just gave me the message 'Failed to decrypt data'. My TWRP version is 3.2.1-1.
Is there anyway I can decrypt my data again? I have important stuff stored there so I cannot format the internal memory

Question Is it possible to change the file system to ext4 with MIUI 12.5.5?

Hey,
basically the title. I have rooted my Redmi Note 10 as i am doing some analysis using autopsy. Surprisingly, i was unable to analyse the userdata partition as autopsy does not support f2fs. I was not expecting a f2fs data partition as the system partition is also formatted as ext4. Without switching to a custom ROM, is it possible to force MIUI 12.5.5 to use ext4 by re-formatting and re-flashing the device?
in my humble opinion you shouldn't mess with partitions
Well, that does not solve my problem^^ I tried to change the partition using TWRP. However, whenever i flash the MIUI ROM, the process formats the userdata partition back to f2fs. Even TWRP will reformat the userdata partition to f2fs when i format the data. Where is defined to which format TWRP formats the partitions? Has anyone an idea on how to solve this issue?

Can't fix TWRP not mounting internal storage

Hello,
I own a Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro (sweet). Its bootloader is unlocked and I use TWRP 3.6.1 as recovery. The problem is that when I install a rom (EvolutionX), everything works until I reboot to TWRP. At that point, my recovery is unable to mount the phone's internal storage and it shows as 0 bytes. I have followed a few help topics already, which stated that the solution was to change the data partition format to Ext2, then back to Ext4. However, this makes my phone unable to restart to system. The problem is that when I format my data, the data partition is by default formated as f2fs. I'm guessing that any other data format makes it unable to boot.
So the problem is:
When data is formatted to Ext4, TWRP is able to mount my phone's internal storage and install roms. However, in that case, my phone won't boot to system.
In the other case, my data is formatted to f2fs, which makes my phone totally functional, but my recovery useless. Which means I can't root my phone or update it.
What could I do?
Thanks in advance.
are you mixing up file system type with encryption? if your android is 12, TWRP is not able to decrypt (yet). then just disable encryption and format userdata f2fs (unencrypted).
otherwise claim it to TWRP maintainer he forgot f2fs support.
