run games like brawl stars in fullscreen? - Samsung Galaxy S9+ Questions & Answers

first of all I use the wqhd+ resolution.
when I play brawl stars the homescreen of the game uses the full screen, but when joining a game it shows the black bars left and right.

I know it has something to do with the game itself so I don't have any advantage against other players but come on I just want the game to look better.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
like any magisk module or something?
excuse my bad english n happy new year to y'all.

Its because you would get an advantage, because you have a bigger screen. I have the same problem. You would see more when it is fullscreen. Sorry for my bad english.

ps3 like live wallpaper frm market

Just thought I'd share this neat lil find with the community
This is a live wallpaper similar to the playstation 3 menu screen. With the waves. Has a few settings that add textures and multiple colours n best thing is it's free.
https://market.android.com/details?id=crazyzenlab.wavelivewallpaper.lite
It's like a cross between the PSP and PS3 one (i think)
The PSP one is more solid color like.
The PS3 one is more translucent and glass like.
But I'm working off memory, havnt touched my PSP/PS3 in a while (cant install android on them, well mabye some day on the psp with android/mips)
Wait, why does a LWP need course location access and full internet? They trying to track you down?
No idea prolly 3rd party bs. I just use droidwall n block most apps that don't need the net
The paid version has more features like making it auto change colors and lets u control the textures/speed and shake to change sorry if most this is also in the lite version. I paid the $1

Screen Density / DPI questions and opinions

So I've tried 184 dpi which seems like allot of people like and seems to work without issues on Resurrection Remix ROM but to me stuff is just too small. I get the idea of having more "screen real estate" so more items fit on the screen since like the app icons get smaller but then when I watched a video on youtube it looked like crap IMO and so did a movie on my phone - this is in comparison to 240 dpi. That's where the deal breaker was for me, like when I want to show off my phone and how nice the screen is I show someone a video or a pic so why would anyone want it smaller and not as clear I just can't understand. This I also find has to get when newer phone are coming out with higher dpi - the Galaxy Nexus for example is 320 wo why would we want lower instead of higher?
Maybe I'm blind or something but I'd like to hear people's opinion on this and also as to what DPIs they've tried or use and also if anyone has gone higher than the stock 240 and if so what's the result they get.
Look forward to hearing people's response. Thanks.

it depends on people on what they like, personally i like 210.lower dpi gives u more space to fit icons, text. also changing dpi other than 240 will give incompatibility error in play store.
It all depends on your readability of your eyes, I'm using 160 dpi and it feels perfect for me
#*posted on the move *#
160 dpi worked well for me and looked awesome i thought however the dialler on foxhound rom doesnt take too well to the change so ive gone back to 240
to me though 240 doesnt look as smart i like fitting more on the screen
what are th fixes for market compatibility? I heard there was this one fix in which you had to create data.prop or some file like that. Anyone knows about that?
I'm on 182 and suits me perfectly
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
I've tried a little higher and though yes you lose screen realestate but boy does it make videos look good. All higher dpi I tried the market would open and load fine - i cleared market data after each change then rebooted, didn't try installing any apps tho so can't say if I'd have any issues. Too high and i got app labels in the drawer overlapping the pages in the app drawer which would be fine if i changed to vertical scrolling instead. All numbers i tried were multiples of 8 as i read somewhere that it must be so.
Just fyi for anyone who wants to try. Videos and pics looked sweet!
For anyone confused... the lower you set the dpi - the higher it actually displays (that's why things are getting smaller and not bigger like on a pc). I too like my settings around 210. To each his/her own.

video play back widget on a home screen

Hello ALL!
I am new to the site and had recently checked out Charlos_OOO and HBK19's threads on making your home screens look like xbox dashboard(BIG KUDOS GUYS IT'S AWESOME) so anyway i set my own version up. Then i had an idea to really mirror xbox dashboard by putting small maybe 2x3 or so widgets that looped a video clip of a game trailer or movie or something just to really give it that dashboard feel. I was amazed to find no widget apps that did this...well there are some but they don't stick to a particular home screen, instead they "float" and are visable with every homescreen you go on even while in the web (they sorta stay in the foreground per say). So i decide to dabble in creating my own widget..unfortunately app widget classes for video don't seem to exist when ever i try to make a video type widget it only comes out as a sorta of video player that floats but does not stick to the home screen lol if it even does that... anyway any thought from anyone on this? i did check the forums i see other people have asked similar questions but to no avail. any feed back would be much appreciated:fingers-crossed: it would be icing on the cake to really make your home screen look like Xbox Dashboard.

[Q] launcher home screen app or mod

Hello, been using xda for years but never posted as I've always worked out any issues or querys, through searching the forum for relevant threads and posts. But I've not found much on my latest search. So i have assumed it's not possible but on the off chance i thought i would see if there any of the cleaver guys on the forum could work out if it's possible or not.
Basically i have used apex launcher since its first release on all my devises except for on my s7300 which i have nova to see what the differences where. It's a great launcher and i can't really knock it. Except for how i like to set up my devices 9 home screens are quite limitations, don't get me wrong 9 screens will display a lot.
But I like to have a home screen dedicated to settings/optimising apps (set cpu, tb, rom tool box etc) a screen for social and media a couple of screens dedicated to android games, then I like to set up screens with short cuts to the top 50 ROMS for a specific console. So a screen of 50 short cuts for n64 roms, a screen for top 50 psx iso short cuts, snes, nes, ds and so on.
my query is is there any know mod available or would it be possible to mod the apk to allow more than the max 9 available screens? Or is anyone aware of another launcher which allows more than 9 home screens. I have assumed there is something stopping devs going above the magic 9 mark as that's where all the best launchers seem to have stopped.
If anyone has any insight on this it would be greatly appreciated, and Thank you for taking the time to read this

SHIELD TV 8.2+ build- any hope for LIVE WALLPAPERS ?

has anyone gotten LIVE WALLPAPERS to work on a SHIELD TV (2015,2017,2019 build8.2+)?
waste of cpu/gpu time.
ok, so not many enjoy it, or consider it a waste.
i was just curious, if its possible. i really only want the RADAR LIVE WALLPAPER, as its light on memory, and its nice to have a constant radar map up. (storms can be quite rough, so radar is helpful) is it possible to re-enable this , as i know the older builds had the option.
note: the RADAR LIVE WALLPAPER is a free app in the play store. ( this is also nice to have as a wallpaper, as its much faster to glance at a screen or tablet, than load a website for a live image- granted its not as high quality, it still helps one prepare for work when your job can be drastically altered by storms)
