Hi everyone,
I just got a poco yesterday and I am coming from a phone a which had a really bad battery life. Poco is definitely a upgrade but I just want to make sure my battery is in perfect condition if not I have a week to replace my phone. Just help me out here guys.
Any help is appreciated.
I don't play games a lot just downloaded pubg to test the performance. Played pubg exactly 12 min and used YouTube for hour at Max. Bluetooth,WiFi and GPS were turned on. No mobile data used.
SOT of about 6 hours seems alright.
But is it what a normal user gets using this phone?
Pubg drains battery very fast in this or any other phone
I get about 8-10 hr sot. I think you need to debloat miui if you haven't already
12 hours+ SoT, but this is the old stable v9.6.14 rom, not the ****ty recent rom, poco team continues to provide ****ty updates that ruins everything with each update, while removing important features & adding more bloatware

May i know how you downgraded? Also aren't you suffering from bugs the phone had at launch in stock room.
Well we love our F1's battery! Ok Im probably a bit older than you and won't use it like most and im a bit of a battery freak, but I got 7 days 6 hrs with 9 hrs screen on time, mainly just whatsapp chrome email calls etc, and maybe a few mins on Pet Rescue, my old Sammy S7 Edge with the same use wouldn't even see 2 days. My daughters F1 gets 4+ full days and mainly plays dragon city? Instagram a few hrs a day, Her old Xiaomi Note 3 with same use would last 2 days if that, my wifes just got the Xiaomi A2 lite and shes managing 6+ days with very light use, facebook and whatsapp mainly.
What I can say is over the years i've always noticed the better the cell signal the better the battery life and I always stick to 3g unless speeds an issue. Ive messed a lot recently with different sims and found that at home, between EE's 1-2 bar signal and Vodafone Full signal, the Vodafone cell battery use is over 50% better than EE, before switching to Voda on my S7 edge Id be lucky to get 1 day out of it.
Oh and my daughter got the F1 for christmas, I charged it up, turned everything off other than 2g (so basically an old text n call phone!lol) and wrapped it up just to see how long it would last.....THREE weeks afterwards on Christmas day it STILL had 36% battery remaining with an estimate of about 5 weeks total!lol...I tried the same with the iPhone 4 and got 3 days!lol
Hope my gibbering helps

Hey, hope you have unlocked bootloader and have twrp and root
0) Remove all locks/patters/fingerprints etc..Also Backup everything through built in backup (Settings>Additional>Backup>Local Backups) Most apps won't be restored so also backup apps & app data through Titanium backup
1) Now download the MIUI v9.6.14 rom
http://bigota.d.miui.com/V9.6.14.0.OEJMIFD/miui_BERYLLIUMGlobal_V9.6.14.0.OEJMIFD_9f7f9e0fa4_8.1.zip
2) Boot TWRP & install rom
3) click back button' & install DisableForceEnyption_Treble.zip
4) Click back button' & install Magisk.zip for root
5) Wipe Davlik cache & reboot
,6) If any problem after Boot , just Boot TWRP & wipe with default options & Boot, after Boot setup phone and restore the Backups made, internal storage will be as it was before rolling back
Using Backups is only needed if you run into problem like me of unable to unlock pattern after rollback, I think it was because I didn't remove pattern/locks before rolling back

Hi, I just recently flashed the LPG ICS Rom to my phone 2 days ago. I did the wipe and flashed through mobile Odin. I restored some of my apps and data with Titanium (also uninstalled most of the samsung apps)
I already did a battery recalibration (pulling the battery at 100% etc.) but I am getting pretty bad numbers. Just 7 hours tops, I guess a lot more if I dont turn on the phone but I guess this is really wrong.
Am I missing something? Should I uninstall or disable something more? This exact configuration gave me minimun 12 to 14 hours on a stock not ICS ROM.
Also I should mention that I am using Juice Defender Ultimate with connection intervals of 5 minutes, pretty average settings.
Any suggestions, tips or guesses?
Thanks a lot!
PS. I dont have any strange apps, just the normal (facebook, twitter, whatsapp, Talk...), My display brightness is set to auto.
What really matters is screen on time and you are getting barely 2 hrs and that is indeed awful but in line with all the complaints I've been seeing in the forums.
The update I got was not LPQ but rather LPE (Trinidad & Tobago) which was released the same day as LPQ. I am getting 4.5 hrs screen on time (around 15 hours with my usage habits). This is barely acceptable as I usually got 5 hours 15 min of screen on time with my stock 2.3.4.
Hopefully Samsung will fix this soon, it was supposed to be the other way (battery life improvement).
Soo...
So I guess I'll just have to wait the next rom releases, as it seems that they are improving the rom every new release? Does that make sense? the roms are being released almost one day apart from each other, arent they the same?
In case that for example a new rom comes out tomorrow and the fellows here say that it really improves battery life. What should I do? wipe and install just as this one? or would I be fine without wiping?
Thanks a lot!

Their is no normal battery usage and you have not given battery any time at all to recalibrate .
Just read the battery posts and use Better Battery Stats .
If their is a problem a full wipe is always best .
jje
Ok, so after a couple of days using it.
The battery now lasts almost 9 to 10 hours with normal use. but I deactivated Juice defender.
Now I have disabled all of google location stuff, and some of google services autosync (like google photos and reader). And will turn on juice defender to see how it goes.
Ill update my findings.
Thanks.
Ooh my holy f#, the amount of ics battery threads its too damn high

Somehow, it seems over time battery life on ICS has consistently diminished. May try some things but this is stock rom, and really not a lot of apps widgets. Is everyone having this?
Example, Sunday I unplug it at noon, and by 7 its at 4%, made a few calls, say 3 under 5 min. Used navigation some, texted some, and a bit of fantasy football app. But that seems below reasonable expectations.
Widgets: 1 weather, Tim Hutt ICS calendar, SiMi Clock, battery & Weather(lockscreen), Widget Locker, Google Music. Launcher: Apex pro.
Did a bit of surfing and didn't see much around stock ICS (could have missed it)

I'm on the US AT&T stock ICS. Have not tried any roms.
If you upgraded via kies or OTA...the chance of a corrupted flash is high.
I'm not saying that it is, but we have had several reports of failed OTA or kies upgrades to ICS...
The only good fix is a re-install of the build...
I would go to samfirmware.com, and push the rom to the device again, and then test the battery life.
this would not be the first bad rom image we have seen from the upgrade.....g
And remember, it takes 3-5 days of normal usage after a fresh install, for the dalvik cache to build, and for the device to "settle" before any accuracy can be measured...g

If this is the case, should I try something like a factory reset then reinstall? I initially updated via Keis.
What is typical battery life on ICS? I recall I got the note right before going to SXSW and it would run from 8am to 11pm with solid use and maybe a 10-20% top off somewhere in the day. This has given me serious cell phone "range anxiety", even bought a external battery to address it.

Best screen on times I've seen are ranging from 3-4 hours, and overall battery times are going 18-24 hours...
Now mileage varies greatly between users, and i'm running ICS as well, and since 6 a.m. today, I've used 14% battery in 7 hours...
I've made 2 phone calls, sent 3 texts, and messed around with settings for about 30 minutes...
It does sound like you may have gotten a dirty flash image...but it's so hard to tell, unless you get random freezes, boot loops etc.
But the stock ICS battery life was horrible for me........g

It boots and actually runs fine. Occasionally cell standby chews the battery out of nowhere, andriod os and phone idle too.
I pulled it off the charger today at 9am and as of 2:00 I was at 68%. Checked email, messed on flipboard while making coffee, updated a few apps. Checked traffic. Mostly just sat on my desk.

I really think you should either re-flash the stock build using samfirmware.com, or flash up a custom rom you can adjust to get this battery issue under control...g

Fortunately, the note is painless to use on custom roms ...
With the ATT version, you simply push a custom recovery to the device via Odin, then download and flash the rom.
No root needed. And if you don't like it, you restore the stock nandroid backup and presto...no more rom.
Root is very nice though, as it allows sooo much more control ....g
Extra Batteries, their cheap and totally worth it just make sure you get a wall charger too
I've pretty much given up on eking out more battery life since it seems universally bad.
A bit more than 4 hours screen-on time seems to be the limit without setting the screen to ultra dim.
Standby seems entire dependent on my signal strength and whether I have LTE enabled or not. If it's strong, 24+ hours isn't unreasonable.

Well, yeah screen destroys the battery. After ICS it seems as though they cranked up the brightness and contrast. Or is that just me?
I used to have the classic Mobile Network standby battery drain issue, until I flashed CalyxOS.
I left my phone with 100% battery before I went to bed last night and woke up this morning 8 hours later with no drain of any kind at all.
Might be an option for anyone else with the same issue.
Interesting. So that confirms it's a software issue and not hardware. Which is a relief. It means Google can fix it via OTA update. Hopefully enough people reported it that Google took notice. i am on chat with google now and they want me to factory reset. I was hoping to avoid that
wait just a question. you said 8 hours.those stats don't update for 24 hours. So you got 16 more hours to go till you know if the issue is fixed. that is why there are no stats at all on your screenshot. It just says battery data isn't available right now
Edit: ok I was wrong about that because I factory reset my phone (on the advise of Google support) and it's been 7 hours and I can see stats. But yes not losing anything In 8 hours is suspicious. I mean it could happen I guess my pixel 4xl got fantastic battery life and apparently mine was the only 4xl that got good battery life because everyone else hated the 4xl because of battery life. Anyway with my 4xl I would lose 1 or 2 percent overnight same with my 1,2,3a and 5. It's only the 6 that this is happening too. I just hope that it can be fixed with an software update.
8 hours with no drain is suspicious if you are not in Airplane mode. The clock, the weather app, email client, a bunch of things at least asks back for update preiodically, so it seems odd.

He's pushing this OS all over the place, not sure why. Most people do not want to bl unlock, wipe their devices and gamble with a new OS that probably doesn't work with Google Pay. And I agree 8 hours with no drain? Not likely although I did have 0.4% / hour one night. Usual is around 0.8 - 1.0 / hour.

Calyx doesn't do anything really in the background. It's de-Googled and has background processes limited or killed altogether. It is certainly possible to get this low idle drain considering OP is on wifi with what looks to be a very strong mobile network signal so the inefficient Exynos modem isn't draining it.
The downside of course is that a bunch of stuff doesn't work right on Calyx because there are no Play Services. You can't even access the stuff you bought IAP for...
I see. I don't say that it is bad. limiting or killing processes in deep sleep would hurt the notifications too, right? It is an interesting OS, but I would join to the others. I need my apps in a convenient way. I did modding in the past but now I appreciate phones that just work when I take them out from the box.

Where am I pushing anything? I'm sorry that I'm excited I've managed to solve a problem and want to share it with others where it could help. But hey, you're welcome to keep scrolling if my posts bother you that much.

You might have "solved" one problem but introduced countless others. If you're really that excited then give all the info not just overnight battery drain and be a little more forthcoming about the rom. I mean in reality if I turn off all network activity and put it into airplane mode I'd get the same results and probably even better. And then there's your thread of ...Why isn't everyone running CalyxOS? Maybe one thread would have been enough instead of cross posting the Pro and the P6. Anyway, I do believe you have gotten enough feedback so people know the pitfalls of the rom and the supposed benefits of longer battery life.

I turned nothing off. If I had I would have said so. What's the point in posting my findings then? I would be useless wouldn't it? I don't have time to play games and lead people around the bush. I'm not 12 years old anymore.
So just to satisfy your curiosity, I use my phone in exactly the same way I have always used it. Bluetooth off, Wifi and mobile data on, location on when I need it but off at the moment. All my apps work just the same as before including my banking app. The only thing I don't use now is Google Pay, and two of my apps with in app purchases are not registered. Apart from that it is exactly how it was before.

Mobile network standby of 2 minutes with 5 hours off the charger suggests airplane mode was in use.
I don't care how much stuff you turn off in the background, there is no way you're getting a 2% loss from 5 hours of usage unless you used the phone for less than 30 minutes in those 5 hours.

Suspicious, yes, but then again... I used to be able to run my old Moto G3 for two weeks on a single charge with just a bare-bones LOS, no gapps and nothing else in the background, so it doesn't seem THAT unreasonable.

Not sure. The latest from the Play Store and whatever version is on Calyx website.
Just upgraded to newest MIUI 13. I factory reset my device for the new OS update. I'm in doubt if battery is better or worse.
What is your experience?
Mine is 30% better
I have not noticed any difference after upgrading to MIUI 13, it seems to be the same.
Everything is better on miui 13 except dark mode for individual apps (not working). You?
Are there any bugs in miui 13?

There is no bug-free software - except the single liners like "Hello world"
But I'm questioning myself about TWRP, Magisk, Magisk modules under MIUI 13/A12

Haven't really seen any big battery improvements, except that it's true, it lasts a LITTLE bit longer.
I'm using a mi 11 ultra and since i updated it to MIUI 13 battery life went from average to terrible. I now barely reach 5h of SOT... I reset the phone and tried many things but nothing worked. I wish I had stayed under MIUI 12.5

I'm sure by flashing the MIUI 12.5 rom that you can find on xiaomi's website or with xiaomi.eu ROMs, you should be able to rehave that battery life. But, you should also install betterbatterystats, to see which process use that much battery. 5h of SOT is pretty low.
I don't want to go to through the hassle of downgrading.. I shouldn't have to do that to have the battery life i used to have... Xiaomi doesn't know how to handle updates properly. Thank you though
I found ultra battery saver mode to be very bad. It used to have 350 hours and now it's 55 hours. Rest all seems to be okay.

From the first few days of testing, I'd say it's worse, and quite noticeable. I get around 4 SoT, usually it was around 5-6 with 90hz... I did a fresh install on a factory reseted phone Tho it might be the fact that neither the miui backup nor Google backup saved any of my settings, so might be few weeks till I get my phone into it's operating window...
But then again, phone seems a lot faster to me, and cold as ice.
When will MIUI 13 come for Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G? Any Idea?
I got OTA notif ten days ago (but I don't want to update,)
You can find another thread and posts (search, read thread titles for 5g ne) where other users already received and updated
After all, if you don't receive in your country (who knows Xiaomi policies about updating), you can find the MIUI 13 firmware on Xiaomi Firmware Updater site, and by googling instructions how to install manually

No, I just did a classic OTA update.
At 80% (I usually don't go more than that on a regular day), I got a battery estimation around 20 hours.
most of the time, SOT 4 hours, facebook, whatsapp, messenger, twitter

Mine is so so so so so bad... Did you get any improvement so far?
So here is the XDA article about the feature drop
June Feature Drop for Google Pixels includes At a Glance improvements, Pocket Operator, and more
The June feature drop for Google Pixel devices is now available, and you can install it on your smartphone. It has a ton of new features.
www.xda-developers.com
And it really does look kind of..... underwhelming? like nothing there is very useful or important at large.
But the update actually brought nice stuff.
Check this article for the main take on the feature drop
June Feature Drop appears to cure most of what ailed Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro units
Most Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro users have seen a big improvement in their handsets' cellular connectivity after installing the June Feature Drop.
www.phonearena.com
I myself have noticed improvements in the time to fingerprint unlock, network seems to be faster and more stable in comparison to March, and my network battery usage went down from being around 30% to around 5%!
So all in all I'm happy with this update even though it didn't seem meaningful at the beginning. It makes this phone more fine tuned and worth.
Have you-all noticed any improvements?
Are you feeling it's better then before?
Yes much better. One day in only but noticeable for sure.
The OTA update isn't showing up yet for me.

I used the android flash tool it factory reset my phone but that's not big deal for me I restored my backup from Google one.
I have noticed the fingerprint sensor is working better my phone seems to not get as good reception but the network is also not using 30% anymore it more like 10 or 15 which is still high but where I'm at now doesn't really have great reception to begin with

Yeah, that's what I'm referring to. I'm manually checking for the update, and it's not showing up. I'll try restarting.

I usually wait for the update notification upon checking updates available. This time it didn't seem it was forthcoming anytime soon since my wife's P5 didn't get it either. So I sideloaded it yesterday. It took all of 7 - 10 min from recovery to reboot. Not sure what the delay is but I just didn't feel like waiting for them to do whatever the eff they need to do to release it.

i got my phone yesterday ....love it
I've definitely noticed an improvement in the fingerprint reader. I haven't noticed any different in network - but more so because I am usually on WiFi and generally don't have network issues when I am not.

Yeah, I ended up sideloading it. No issues, and everything feels a little snappier
I sideloaded it Monday afternoon. Wasn't having any issues before and am not having any issues after.
It's a little early to tell, but I think battery life has improved. I ended the day both Monday and Tuesday with a battery that was about 10%-15% higher than usual.
Being able to use music player like neutron working again is brilliant I had the update on Monday about 11pm I'm in uk
i installed June update 2 days ago. not sure if it is the update or battery guru which was installed at the same time, but now my phone ACTUALLY goes into deep sleep (as reported by battery guru)!!
Its always in deep sleep now for around 15/16hrs between charges and battery drain is down to as little as 1% per hr when screen off. Before I could lose around 20/30% from around 10pm (last phone use) until 6.30am when i pick my phone up the following morning.
One thing i am having issue with SINCE the June update is pixel launcher. Im getting errors saying it has stopped working. I Use Lawnchair anyway, but thats not the point. Just before I get the error about pixel launcher, the phone goes really slow.
A restart of the phone hasn't solved the issues and i have also cleared data/cache from the launcher to no avail.
I NEED TO CONNECT MULTIPLE BLUETOOTH DEVICES AT ONCE!
one weird error I have since updating. If I pull down the notification tab as soon as i click a notification, instead of opening it it will lock the screen
Noticed much improved battery life as well. A 2% drop in active usage and much better standby battery drain. Took my phone out of the charger at 1pm yesterday and I'm at 48% as of writing this message the net day at 6:35pm. Moderate active usage between then and now.
EDIT:
Forgot to mention that my phone doesn't seem to randomly overheat anymore while casually browsing the web.
EDIT 2:
Phone finally shut down today at 4pm, with around 50hours of total battery life and 6ish hours of screen time. This is probably the single biggest overall battery life improvement I've ever experienced just from installing an update alone on any phone I've owned.
NVM, I found the setting.
Definitely not better here battery or network wise after the June patch.
