I'm new at the forum so...big hello to everyone!
I have a simple question because this thing just shocked me totally. When I was configuring my mother's new Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 3/32 with Oreo 8.1 and MIUI 10 I entered Developer's mode easily just to change animation scale of windows (standard thing). Later I ran something called "Control Panel". It scanned whole phone and informed me that "Developer's options" was repaired or sthg like that. Interested, I went through menu to Dev opions and realized that it...dissapeared My next step was to try to activate it again but every time I press few times MIUI version insted of getting info about Dev options activated I have in return this picutre of angry black oreo cookie  When I press it longer it changes to animation of swimming octopussy which position I can change mooving by it's head. That's all. Possibility to activate Dev's options is now blocked and instead of that I have two animations ...for fun. Resetting the phone to factory preset do nothing about that. It's not so important to have this options in my mother's phone but I'm very interested what have happened and if there is a solution for that?

I have been lurking on this site for a while. Let me say thank you to all the developers here, its incredible that you would take time out of your life to help other people with our miniscule problems that we bring upon ourselves.
Anyway I recently upgraded from cyanogenmod 9 to cyanogenmod 10 on my Samsung infuse 4g. In the 9th version, there was a section in the system menu for developer tools. In it was a bunch of options but the one i am concerned with is the cursor. Actually i cant recall what it is called but when enabled, it shows a little circle wherever the screen is being touched. I love that feature and i figured it would still be in the 10th version but i cannot find it. I dont know what to search for to find information so i had to create this account and ask.
Okay i was playing with the settings and i found this.
Settings - Lock Screen - Slider shortcuts - drag the dot to a new location - activities - Dev tools - Pointer Location
but when i lock the screen and then unlock it and slide the dot to the icon, it just brings up a kind of app. the one in CM9 was global and it was different, it didnt track the touch, just showed it...
found it (?)
okay i found how to enable it but its hidden like a *****
Had to set Dev tools to the slider icon, then save, lock the screen, unlock it, slide to the dev tools icon, and the developer options is THERE. WHO PUT IT THERE?! How were we supposed to get to it? The dev tools contain many useful features. I use the long press back key kill app feature, and some people might use the max background processes to free up memory. You can change transition animation timing, and lots of other things. IDK why they hid it away on CM10 unlike CM9.
Anyway thats where the dev tools are. Question answered, maybe it will help someone else.

Go to settings - About Phone - And press on the "build number" for 7 times.
You will get a message saying "You're now a developer" or something.
And the Developer Options menu should be available in settings.
Hi guys, I just got a le max pro (x910) but there is no forum for it. Still, I believe it is running the same OS and EUI as Le max 2 (6.0.1 and EUI 5.6.x)
To my question: I hate lock screens so I disable them. If the fingerprint reader were better I'd seriously consider using it to unlock the phone, but it isn't.
My problem now is the "second" lock screen on this phone. Not sure if this is an andorid thing or an EUI thing, since I haven't used android 6.0+ before.
Essentially, I need my home screen to appears when I click the power button. Is that possible? Currently, the "lock screen" that appears after hitting power is a screen with time and camera icon. I don't need this. Can it be disabled SOMEHOW?
Thanks
Hello!
You can do exactly what you want with Lockscreen Disabler in Xposed. It will disable the lockscreen and when you press the power button, the home screen is shown.
As you may know already, you must have a custom recovery, be rooted and have Xposed installed. Then download the module and enjoy

Is this new in Android 6 or an issue with EUI? On my Sony Z ultra with android 5.1.1 disabling the lock screen is right there in the options.
I'm not sure whatever the problem might be. If you said that you need somehow to disable the lockscreen because you can't, I took it for good and I found a solution for you
I've tried to remove it without Xposed and looks like in Settings you don't have this option. Keep in mind that different OEM's do have various options of customization that might not be common.
Hello everyone, I´m new to this, but I just got an LE S3 last week at a really good price! (take into consideration that I live in Mexico) and found the same problem mentioned here, after lots of researching the web and tinkering with setting, antivirus and lock screen apps on play store and factory resetting phone, I got rid of the ``second lock screen´´ wich is very annoying to me, and not to mention all the ads that popped up every time I unlocked the phone, only for it to come back as soon as I connected my phone to charge it! Very Frustating!
And then I noticed, since I had changed the home and lock screen wallpapers to pictures of my family, I noticed three little white dots on the upper left corner of the screen, almost imperceptible, just like the ones on the web browser to deploy a menu!! I hitted it and a warning came up `` do you want to disable Locker?´´ I hitted Disable and that did it! Now I´m able to just go to my home screen with the Finger Print unlock or Pattern unlock.
It was hard to notice the three little dots since I had not changed my wallpapers, I was using the factory galaxy/nebula look alike wallpapers, which are very cool but have scattered white dots all over and tricked my perception of the Locker Icon.
Hopefully this can help some of you to turn off that annoying extra screen.
Cheers!!
Hi Members
I have the above phone, with all the latest OTA updates offered for my Huawei Mate 10 pro, its currently running Android 8 EMUI 8
I've noticed if I hold down the homescreen, then go to settings, there doesn't appear to be the option to allow the homescreen to rotate.
In the quick toggles the auto rotate is on, and all other apps do rotate into landscape so there's no hardware issue.
Does anyone have a solution to this, I've done all the obvious things like clear caches, turn on/of phone, reset the phone twice to factory.
I'm not running many apps, the phone is not rooted, and I wouldn't consider resetting the phone again (as this doesn't do anything)
My only default launcher is the Huawei 'My Home', one of Huawei's OTG updates changed this to being the only launcher.
I don't want to use another launcher, as this is Huawei system default (I don't really want other issues to appear if I was to run another launcher)
Thanks for any advise
Cheers
I don't think the stock launcher supports landscape mode.
If you split-screen with the gesture and have any of the second screen return to home you can see it rotates into landscape mode. Sadly thats the only way i know
Thanks for all the replys, hopefully Huawei will change this, maybe I'll have to consider running Nova launcher, I've heard Huawei doesn't allow it to be a default launcher though?
you can use whatever launcher you want if you dont use huawei widgets on it(primarily weather widget witch i disabled anyway cause i use another one) . I used nova since day one without issues. maybe there was bug on early software that prevented it but i never had issues.
I am on mate 10 no pro fw13 2c636
Original launcher. In screen enable screen rotate.
Works like a charm. Greetings
I used to have landscape mode too, until firmware update BLA-L09 8.0.0.137. It's gone since then.
thats strange. bla l29 on 137 firmware has that option. huawei probably screwed something up.
Yes, I am on BLA L09 8..0.0.137 (C432) kernel version 4.4.23+, and although I have the 'auto rotate' toggle and switch in settings, there isn't a specific switch or check box to allow Homescreen to rotate.
As you've said madman_cro, Huawei must have messed something up, unless they couldn't get some other aspect of the phone to work while in landscape, and they removed the setting.
I'll wait to see if they rectify it, I have sent Huawei an email
Thanks again everyone for the help
I had an email reply back from Huawei, they said they looked at the settings of a Mate 10 pro at there end, and confirmed that there was a checkbox picker for 'disabling homescreen auto rotation' , whether the phone they had looked into at there end had been fully updated to it's current UK status, I don't know.
I have sent back a reply with screenshots of my phone as it currently stands in the settings, Android version, and firmware version
I have the same issue, firmware 137 doesn't have landscape, plus it broke "OK Google" support on my phone...not happy
I've come to the conclusion that the whole Huawei Android/EMUI/hardware eco system has many glitches, and bugs.
I've also found there watch 2 Pro also seems very inconsistent, sometimes i'm getting notifications sometimes not.
And no amount of turning on and off, or resetting, or fiddling with settings permissions, or power policies, or notification allowances seems to sort things.
Huawei need to address these problems... or they risk losing customer business through unreliability issues.
Just let members know, I've had a reply back from Huawei support, and they have said it may be a bug with possibly there latest update, and that it may be resolved in the next update in due course.
I can confirm the same issue, it was working for me in BLA L29 8.0.0.137 (C432) and forced an update to BLA L29 8.0.0.142 (C432) and it was not working anymore.
Tested Nova launcher and this one works for rotation.
I have noticed too “Ok Google” not working until I clear cache/data from the application “Google” after that “OK Google” was back on track.
I did the same from Huawei 'My Home' but no luck.
I have try this update because of this:
- to see how it fix BlueTooth
- add facial recognition
- and if the issue (I would like to be fixed) about stereo channel swap when recording a video from rear camera from stock camera app)
Seb.
If you goto home screen, pinch gesture, setting, allow home screen to rotate
Took me ages to find this!
If you access the Developer options and scroll to right at the bottom you see Turn off/on MIUI optimization so I turned it off much to Xiaomi's horror with warnings saying it's dangerous.
I can now sideload apks. Got Fortnite in there for my son. HIK vision connect app for CCTV. I couldn't get them in previously to turning it off the MIUI optimization.
The menu changes to a stockish android look. Font changes. The dual account menu becomes visible in the main menu under multiple users. Making it way easier to set up.
I'll leave the optimization off for a few more days to see if it causes any bugs like Xiaomi warns.
As you can see, System app apks still not allowed but you can see the vanilla android prompts. MIUI is sort of gone.
I like it.
After a few days of testing MIUi optimization off I can tell you that you lose about 2 hours screen time.
logd app will show up from the system and be one of your top battery drainers.
No other issues besides that.
I was just wondering if anyone uses the lockstar feature to extend the lock screens on-time. When I first started using it I set it to keep the lock screen on for 2 minutes and it was fine. However, since the April update, it reverts back to 10 seconds and when I change it to 2 minutes or another time it just goes off after 10 seconds.
I finally did a factory reset and restored my data from my pc. However, before I let it update from the galaxy store, I tried lock star again and it worked, it remained on for whatever time I set. Then I updated the default apps from the galaxy store, and it went back to 10 seconds again. I seems one of the default apps is the culprit.
I tried updating the error report on the Samsung members app, but it seems you can't unless they request it. Is there a way to email the Good lock team. TIA

Open GoodLock, tap the 3 dot menu option, select GoodLock Credits, scroll to the bottom and Tap on Contact Us. This opens a page on Samsung Members containing various links, one of which is Error Reports. AFAIK this is the only way to submit GoodLock error reports with a system log.

Thank you. Yes I did that and just copied what I told them before and added the new info. I'm guessing they are not like the SystemUI team!
