I have seen very few discussions about this, but it would be a VERY useful battery saving/accessibility/preference utility to be able to manually adjust the brightness of the always-on-display.
Personally I have no idea where to begin on a mod like that but I just wanted to bring it up: aod brightness should be customizable. There.

It is already.
I have mine on "brighter display" because I like it brighter. You can keep yours on dim, if you like.

Well, we already know AOD doesn't really use any battery. This phone has fantastic battery. And I keep mine on bright.
But yeah, if you want to make a mod, go for it.

Can AOD cause burn-in? just a curious question. Even tho everytime we unlock it, its on a different place but what if we dont unlock for a loooong time.

No, not on stock firmware. LG has the pixels move a little every few minutes.

It would probably be easier to force some sort of color overlay (tasker?) or just modifying the color of the font that is used.
Other possibility is using the motion sensing (gyroscope, accelerometer) or proximity sensor to hook into tasker and toggle the "make aod brighter" setting. So like it's dim when flat or in pocket but bright when picked up or something.
Though any of these methods (besides modifying the color used for the font) would use more battery.

Anyone know of a good app that will make the flashlight blink when you get a text or missed call? I tried a few from the playstore but they arent that great and they only flash it for a few seconds, I often leave my phone face down in a noisy environment and it would be nice to have the flashlight flash every few 5-10 seconds after a text or missed call until I see it, do any kernals or roms have this baked into it or as an option? or anyone know of a good app that does this?

I just tested it out and its cool it is built in but it only flashed it for a few seconds, I am looking for something that will make a flash every 5 seconds or so, and keep flashing until I look at it, or at lease for a specified period of time.... like a missed alter reminder.....
Hi,
I got this watch used, arrived two days ago. I like it so far. Only tweaks done so far is unlock BL.
I want to preserve the battery life as much as possible though, while keeping it usable. So I think there is efficiency to be made by having the watch face stay as a silhouette instead of "waking up" whenever I look at it. To activate the watch, I have no problem with tapping it once or twice.
Does such a tweak exist? I could not find it in settings (only to turn screen off completely when inactive). Any prerequisites for such a tweak (e.g. root)?
Many thanks.
Are you on 5.1.1 (LCA43)? If yes, you can try disabling wrist gestures in watch settings. Of course, you won't be able to move trough cards as well if you disable it, but it will prevent the screen to leave dim mode when you move your wrist.

I tried that before (am on LCA43), but it seems to just disable the scroll. Just tried again, may have made a difference this time. Though it looks like the screen still activates 1 out of the 5 times I put the watch to my face. We shall see. Thanks!
You're correct, my bad! The setting you want is in the Android Wear app: Tilt to wake screen. You may want to keep wrist gestures on.

Found it! The guide I found had the setting on the main page. I had to tap on the actual device listing to get to the sub page with all the goodies (Google probably did it that way so you can program different actions for different watches).
Thanks again!
By the way, one day later with no charge in between. I am proud of this:

Set for two solid days of use. [emoji3]
In a completely dark room, this phones screen get way too dim for my liking as it will automatically drop all the way to 0% brightness.
I don't want to disable automatic brightness as it's a pain manually adjusting the level in pretty much every other environment.
I do want to be able to set the phone to never drop below ~10% even when I'm in a totally dark room though. I know I use to be able to do this with an older android phone but it may have been my Samsung Galaxy S4 from many years back.
Is there any way to set a minimum level for the brightness on the V30? The only area in the settings I can find doesn't have an option to do it.

You have to use an app to do that. There's an app called Lux available in Google Play which lets you control auto brightness better than LG software does. Lux Lite is the free version, and Lux is the paid version. A lot of people have recommended it.
You can set it to be brighter than LG allows, for instance.
Wow i want the same brigtness managment for my V30+ because in auto he won't go under 15% in a dark room and it's better for my eyes when i set it at 10% (No oreo here).
Anybody else having issue with all apps on the second screen showing in windowed mode instead of full screen.
Since the last update it seems to have made the default setting to be windowed modem and no longer getting fullscreen.
I can't seem to get it to go back the way it was before.

It does not, all sound comes from the phone itself.
The back camera is a little clunky to use with the dual screen since you have to have it folded out basically into Tablet mode to take pictures but its not too bad.

Ok thank you for replying. I don't take many pictures and only asked because it looks like there is a camera notch. Shame, I really wish they'd included speakers with the dual screen.
Thanks again.
Yeah it was an odd design choice. There is a camera cutout but no camera to match the main screen i suppose.
There is also a less noticable speaker cutout.
So when you have the case closed you can answer calls using the google assistant button without opening the case and the phones speaker passes through.
firefly6240 Airtioteclint
They kept the camera cutout for the symmetrical appearance , which is good.
But unfortunately lg notch hideout option won't work on 2nd screen.
I hate notch that's the thing keep me not update to lg device since lg g6.
But because of their mobile shutdown i had to update to v60 from g6.
Hello all. My coworker lost a portion of her dominant thumb recently. She's on a Pixel 2 on Android 11. Is there any way she can permanently make the phone's screen only take up a smaller portion of the whole display? So in essence, to have a decent chunk of padding on the left and top parts of the screen so she can always reach every part of the screen?
Her phone is rooted. We tried a few DPI and resolution changer apps, but none of them did what we want which is to have a bunch of padding to the left and from the top, permanently.
Preferably the setting would be permanent and not needed to be turned on, and will work across all apps. We tried the "One-Handed Mode" module for Gravitybox but it did nothing when applied.
Is there any way to accomplish this with an ADB command or some sort of app that we haven't found yet?
Anyone?
If downgrading to Android 10 is an option, overscan would work like a charm.
wm overscan [reset|LEFT,TOP,RIGHT,BOTTOM]
wm density [reset|DENSITY]

Thanks for the snarky and useless reply; this video only makes the keyboard work with one hand, not the entire phone screen.

Sadly downgrading isn't an option but is there any way to do this in Android 11 if she's rooted?

There's this on the Note's... it's in the firmware, not an app. whatever...

Yes which is why I specifically asked if it can be done on a Pixel phone that is rooted.
