Also in Italy happened some thing similar. Try to use the Sim in the second slot and let me know if you verify again disconnection.

I have same issue. On Global dev, xiaomi.eu as well. I need to try put sim card to second slot. Maybe this something help.

Despite 11 antennas around, sounds like I lost the 4G data connection and have to reboot ...

Compare to my old Redmi Note 3 SE (Kate) the Mi8 lite is very poor in 4G LTE reception ! Very bad :'(
Wifi is very bad too, in the same place my old phone is better !!!
Materiel problem or software ?

Probably hardware issue. My Huawei p10 lite was way better

Sometimes work good, sometimes bad. In randomised places and different frequencies. Hope so it's software issue. Hardware might have one person, not so many.

putting the simcard into the 2nd slot (where goes the sdcard) fixed the problem for me, atleast for now.

Cellular strength and throughput

Getting slow speeds on T-Mobile. The area where I live has great 4glte coverage that my other devices pick up easily. Just got my mate 9 today and hoping the speed improves over the next couple of days so that I don't have to return this otherwise awesome phone. Anyone have similar problems or know a fix?
I'm on T-mobile and I feel like I get better much reception/performance than I did with My Note 3. But my Note 3 was an AT&T version which didn't support Band 12, so being able to take advantage of Band 12 now may be part of the improvement.
I drive through a tunnel everyday and used to lose the call 100℅ of the time on the Nexus 6P. Not on the Mate 9. Tmobile carrier.
My old phone had 2/5 bars 4G inside my house, mate 9 has 4-5/5 bars 4G+ and speed is generally very good, the network connection is very stable even when signal is low.
On AT&T. Consistently gets 4-6 dbm better on LTE than my ATT Note 5. I maintain usable LTE reception in many areas the note 5 cannot. The note 5 already outclassed many other phones in RF signal strength -- the mate 9 is a stellar performer in this regard.
EDIT: 4-8dbm better than OnePlus 3T, 4-5 better than LG G5. Also on ATT.
On T-Mobile I'm getting an average of 4-5 dbm's better than any other phone. It seems like Huawei is the new king of radios. That's one of the reasons I ended up keeping my Mate 9. I am getting service in spots (for example the pro shop in my bowling alley) where I never even had any service before.
I get very fast speeds on sim 1, I can download, stream, whatever.

I'm not sure if it's an issue with the firmware on my device (using firmware from MIUI 9.1 with LineageOS 14.1), but I often find that my Redmi Note 4 drops signal in low signal areas and fails to return much more often than my previous device (Uhans A6). That said, it doesn't drop calls and seems pretty good otherwise.
Same to me with LinOS 14.1 where stock Miui had a stable signal strength using SIM slot2 (nano sim). I've tried several firmwares with no difference. I'm not sure if this is really an issue or if the signal strength indicator simply has a bad resolution to look that flaky.

These issue are a cause by the error in software that handles the signal indicator. There's no real issue with your custom ROM affecting your signal strength.

Wrong. If I toggle flight mode, signal returns instantly. Otherwise I can have no signal for minutes at a time.

I have been using Lineage OS 15.1 on my Redmi Note 4 for 5 days but a major bug in it is that I cannot place call through Vodafone sim when Volte of Jio sim is on.On the other hand if I turn off the Volte option then I can call using Vodafone but not with Jio. Can anyone help with this problem???

I saw Vodafone also launched VoLTE services. Since RN4 doesn't support dual LTE, could that be the problem?

But my vodafone sim only works on 3g and 2g

Is the OPX 4G reception poor?

I changed telco recently, to SFR (in France) and am getting very poor 4G reception at home. I haven't used the data connection at home before (because I have WiFi) so I didn't know what to expect.
The mast is only 2.8km away and LTE800, so the OPX should like it. The SIM card works well in my partner's Xiaomi, and in my old cheap and cheerful Alcatel POP4, and both get a strong and stable 4G signal. So why is my OPX struggling? I've been on to the support at SFR and they are going to monitor the line but said everything looks ok (APN details good, no local outages, etc) so it should work.
The only strange thing that might help in problem diagnosis is that I had to create the APN myself. The correct one was not displayed on the OPX - several other telco APNs were displayed (around 15 in total) but not the one I wanted, which I find weird. In the other 2 phones (Xiaomi & POP4), the correct 2 APNs are the only ones displayed.
Do you think there's something wrong with my OPX? Is it simply 'weaker' than the other 2 phones I have? Might it have a problem with that particular mast? (I get good 4G elsewhere) This one baffles me.
Nobody any thoughts on this?
It was suggested to me that perhaps the OPX designers compromised 4G reception (due to limited physical space) and upper band LTE is advantaged over LTE800. because the majority of 4G provision is in that upper band.
I have noticed this too!
Consider I live in a little country where 4G signal is low.
The same happens in Rome where 4G signal is high!
In fact, with Mi A2 lite I have no problems.
Probably the hardware is not very well designed, like you said above.
I don't like to resort to unhelpful, nontechnical language so consider this as venting - 4G reception sucks on the OnePlusX!
I'm seriously considering getting another phone (and I otherwise like my OPX) because its 4G reception is so weak. Sure, it works on occasions but I know other phones do better. Still, I guess it is now 'old' technology!
It looks allright with my OPX in France too, with Prixtel (Orange).
I have my main Sim card with Red SFR in my main phone, but with the OPX, the 4G DL and UP speed are good.
With Prixtell, I get this right now:
Hello,
I have a same problem with Bouygues, I have a better connection with sosh/orange...
the Bouygues/SFR antenna is at 3km
orange/Free is at 1Km
and traveling by car the reception is less cut with orange / sosh
I've come to the conclusion that it's the OPX hardware and/or design. Nothing we can do about it... other than get a different phone!
Fortunately for me, it's not a real problem - i's just a limitation, a bit frustrating and somewhat baffling. As I said, my cheap and ordinary Alacatel phone has a better 4G reception!
Are you by any chance using dual sim cards? I've noticed that my 4G reception is also worse ever since I started using 2 cards.
Also, reception appeared to be better on stock Oxygen OS than it is on LOS15.1 that I'm using right now.

Definitely worse range and mobile data speed on T-mobile Poland than in my previous Huawei P20 Pro. [emoji52]

I have really big problems with the 4G Connectivity. Nearly no connection (0.8 Mbits) inside the house next to the open window. No problems before with my OP3T
From the beginning of using the phone, I have a problem with cyclical signal loss when I try to call someone or when someone tries to call me. I get a message that my SIM card is missing.
Interestingly, it happens just like I have the LTE signal turned on. When trying to establish a connection, LTE changes to 3G and it is at this point that the signal disappears, and then returns spontaneously after about 5 -10 seconds.
If I force the use of 3G, the connections work fine.
I tried to reset to factory settings, changed the SIM card between trays 1 and 2. I reset network settings. Unfortunately, nothing helps.
The only thing I haven't done yet is to exchange the card with the operator, but I treat it as a last resort. I do not believe that this was a physical malfunction of the card, because on the previous phone there were no problems.
It annoys me so much that I feel like throwing this phone out the window...

I feel that this phone's cellular performance is worse than that of my OnePlus 7T. I live in a shallow canyon and have not the greatest reception, however with this phone I frequently get "Mobile network not available" when sitting in my living room, which I don't recall experiencing with the 7T.
My data speeds on T-Mobile 5g in Illinois are 25% what they were (25mbs vs 100mbs) on the 7t Mcclaren
For me in Lake Charles,La it has been great. The 5g dl speeds aren't that much faster than lte but the upload speed is. What's really nice coming from PixelXL3 is like when I'm in the bathroom at work before I would barely get a signal if any, and now it's almost like I'm outside & signal is good. Thankfully T-Mobile has just been improving and improving the last few years.
Slight better signal than my S9+
hi
Im using O2 with 5G sim card and data plan unlimited. (5G) also.
But i only have 2G/3G/4G
But when i put Vodafone sim card im gettin 5G 2G/3G/4G/5G
Strange
Much better especially 5G than my LG V40 ThinQ.
Hey guys, i have a question - i bought samsung s20 (exynos) and the signal strenght and data speed is worse than on my huawei mate 20 pro. So i want know how is cellular strength and speed on the one plus 8 pro? I work in a place with bad coverage but until the s20 i never had problems with the battery (usually finishing the day with 50%+ on the mate 20 pro, sometimes even 70% and now i am at 30-40% so i have to charge either at work or immediately when i am home). I am asking because i will change the samsung and it is either the one plus 8 pro or the iphone 11/12. Thanks.
Got 1+8pro - reception to make calls improved in my apartment from Note10+, 3G/4G speed is not good but I have wifi so am just happy to have calls.
I'll be testing this out shortly when mine arrives. At my home location lte connectivity is very poor generally around -104 to -114 dbm, we'll see how the OP8Pro does with little signal.
worst
my p30 pro used to work in my room (4g). 8 pro no signal. horrible
Device has amazing cellular signal sensitivity. Sitting on my old man's recliner at home i posted the dbm figures I got with Samsung and other devices. This device increased signal reception by around 11 dbm. Using Network Cell info lite for tests as I have with my previous devices. Amazing.

Question S23 Ultra - Phone signal poor?

Hello,
What is your experience with the GSM reception of the S23 Ultra? Mine is lower than my previous phone(S20 FE 5G); I don't have 5G in my region atm, and with S20 in my apartment had like 1/4 strength 4G, with S23u I have the 4G sign, but not most of the time it's 0/4 lines of strength, and also when I get a phone call half of the time I get small interruptions and this is annoying.
EDIT : after march update ,signal reception seems a bit better and also the battery.
G...S...M? What's that? (jk lol)
I don't think many of us really bought this phone for strong GSM performance and it's not really a focus of manufacturers either. Have you tried switching carriers?
You are right...but...its a phone first of all,we should have a great signal fir this miney. Its annoying to have poor recetiin at home and ppl make fun at you "omg you git a such expensive phone and Such a poor signal"
For me compare to S22U (Exynos) is a lot of better and little better than Fold 2 - so overall is good (snapdragon here in EU). I work where is poor cellular strenght.
Signal definitely seems worse than my S21U. I live in an area where indoor coverage is poor and I'm having to rely on wifi calling a lot more than I did with my previous handset.
Personally, I have always found Samsung modem and radio reception to be weak compared to OnePlus. The same place my OnePlus 8T can get 4 bars, my s23 Ultra gets 2. At our last apartment, we both ditched our Samsung devices because we got no service in that apartment but has 1-2 usable bars of service with our OnePlus 7 Pro's.
Hi all!Today I noticed my S23 Ultra network signal is poor as many of your phones. Before I had a Pixel 6 Pro but the network signal was much better than this Samsung.I don't know why ,I have 2 network bars or even no one ,then the phone connect through wifi calls!I am living in UK,Lebara network! Thanks

I don't know how but I check the signal reception and during travelling by train to work and is worst with S23U than P6 Pro.I wasn't happy with P6P,some things but the signal was better than Samsung for me!Even now the Wifi calls is connected because I have a poor network signal.
I hardly got any signal at home on my pevious phone (s9+), but all great with s23 ultra, tbh

Maybe a silly question but why do you keep posting screenshots of yourself commenting
Just keep asking and maybe you can answer yourself!
I found opposite. My old 10+ have much worse signal than my 23u. Inside my house i still have 4 bars of 5G.
Very strange. My S23U is night and day better than my P7P was.
Mine is better than Pixel`s I had been using, the pixel 7 pro I was using was horrible, the S23U is way better.
Signal is all over place, wh3n in low 4g reception it falls back to 3g and when im back in well covered 4g+ it will stay at 3g until I flight mode it. Seems even worse than puxrl 6 pro I had.

My oneplus 8 pro and Pixel 7 pro had no problems at all with the same sim card installed, its just this samsung that drives me crazy
I don't see any difference, and Im in a very low signal zone. Both s23 and op5 didn't loose signal , but 1 bar and no way to make a call.
