Hello,
Currently I have a Samsung Galaxy S III with the Android Revolution HD 9.0.0 and I want to upgrade to version 10.0.0 which is the current version (Both based on JB leaks).
But I don't want to wipe my data to upgrade.
The reason for this is because even though i've backed up everything using titanium backup, I have a layout which I like and lots of other settings for every app and I don't have a few hours to play with it.
Is this possible?
Thanks in advance
If you are currently running an ICS custom rom and the update is to a JB cumstom rom by the same maker then yes you still need to do a wipe.
But if you did a nandroid backup first before updating you could always try flashing the update without wiping but it could cause problems.
The devs always say to do a full wipe so that there are no problems
Hope this helped
P.S it is adviced not to make duplicate posts as Mods may close this one mate
Im new to flashing roms but have a slight idea as to what im doing. I am looking for a 4.4 kitkat rom specifically for the tmobile version (sgh-m919) of the s4. Or if there is a specific process to making it work with that phone. I installed the google play edition that I downloaded from XDA but had serious signal problems that weren't present with the stock rom. I then installed the cyanogenmod version and the signal problems went away and everything was going fine then suddenly my google apps stopped working for no apparent reason. Can someone help my greenhorn ass??

have you wipe everything when flashing the CM ?
and use the 4.4 gapps ?
Hi all
Im new to android and have been tweaking my samsung s4 for a couple of months now. I have a Samsung S4 GT I9505 with TWRP boot recovery , nova launcher prime and KitKat 4.4 Google play edition Rom. I have also flashed Faux Kernel onto my phone to prevent random restarts. The problem is I am still getting restarts (about 8 a day) the problem was a lot worse before I re-flashed it with the same kernel. I have tried flashing it again but I still get the same problem. Also some of my apps restart more often then before I had the custom ROM (GPE)
I am not 100% sure what the kernel does. What is the purpose of it. Are there others I can use, where can I get them from ?
Help would be most appreciated
Thanks
Aiden

Hello,
I need a fast working I9300 rom. Stock rom caused me to type this message second time. Even browser is crushing. Stock latest firmware installed. Factory settings+several apps (Whatsapp, yandexnavi, bank apps etc.) Installed.
I found some on internet. But I felt I need to ask to forum since those posts was really old.
Thanks a lot
Hey my brother got a new Galaxy Note 8 not too long ago, and it seems that after he installed the latest update everything began to crash in the background. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions? His phone is running Oreo 8.0
0, and it's not rooted, your help is appreciated.

Performing a factory reset is an option.
