HI all,
Apologies if this has been covered here before, but I've been unable to find the solution on looking.
I'm running the RN4X (SD) on the Global Beta MIUI 10. The problem I'm having is that my phone will not connect to the PC. I get USB Device not recognised in Windows, and an unable to enumerate device error in Linux, on multiple PCs with multiple different USB Cables, including the one that came with the phone.
I want to unlock the bootloader, but cannot, as it requires connection to the PC. I was hoping I could force the issue by forcing the PC to use the correct driver, but since the Xiaomi drivers require the phone to be connected to the PC to install, I'm catch-22'd out of that avenue.
I have seen mention somewhere that rolling back to either Stable or MIUI9 might fix the issue, but since I wasn't wanting to actually install a custom rom at this point, just unlock the ability to do so in the future, I'm not sure doing athe full wipe neccesary to install either will give me any benefit.
So I guess what I would like to know is one of the below:
Does anyone know how to fix the not recognised issue?
Can anyone point me at the correct drivers/how to install them without having the phone recognised by the PC?
Does anyone know if this is a known issue with MIUI10 Global Beta, and if it would be fixed by installing either 10 Stable or 9?
Thanks for any and all assistance, I've been bashing my head against this for days with no solution in sight

Sounds like USB port is broken.
Hi all,
I've read a couple of threads for several days now, but none of the answers worked for me.
Problem is: I can connect from my HD2 to my desktop PC (win 7) initially, but when I try to install a new ROM (3.14.407_2), my HD2 restarts, shows the four colour screen and nothing more happens. After some minutes, my PC tells me that my phone isn't connected anymore.
It worked two months ago for the last ROM flash, but now nothing helps.
Tried:
- rebooting PPC and PC several times
- deleting partnership and setting up a new one
- disabling "faster connect" for usb to PC settings - afterwards, PC doesn't recognize any connection at all
- hard reset on PPC
I have no idea what to try next.. I wanted to install HSPL2 and flash the ROM from my SD card, but can't install HSPL2 ... same problem.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Infyrana
I also tried several USB ports on my PC
You think the HD2 USB port is broken? But I was able to transfer data when connected as normal device without active sync.
Do I have any chance to check, whether you are right, without having to send my phone to HTC?
maybe running the update in compatibility mode will help?
I thought the microsoft mobile device center (or however it is called) was made for win7, as the actual activeSync tool cannot be used?
So I can't see a benefit from this, but anyway.. I will try.
You could try using BlueTooth with ActiveSync, thats what I do. I have a "micro" bluetooth adaptor for my laptop and it all works fine... just a bit slower.

the compatibility mode for the ROM update file could help becasuse it is a separate application (no guarantee though as I have no way to check it on my PC)
compatibility mode didn't help.
don't have a bluetooth stick ...
no further suggestions?
Just found out, that windows tries to install driver "Qualcomm CDMA Technologies MSM" when I connect my HD2 after starting bootloader.
But it just searches and doesn't find anything. I searched by myself, but didn't find the driver anywhere ...
if you are really determined to update ROM, find the thread on ROM 3.14 here on xda forum, I recall seeing guidelines on installing ROM from SD Card
of course it will not solve your sync problem, but still...
Yah ... I wanted to install HSPL2 to be able to do install the ROM from the SD card (at least that's what I understood - that I need that first), but I can't install it, as I already wrote.
I GOT IT!!!
Finally.. in a forum somewhere in a forgotten corner of the internet.. someone gave an advice to uninstall the windows mobile device center and reinstall it.
After uninstalling, I had some trouble to find it again, but finally got it.
And guess what: it works now.
Windows managed to install the quadcomm driver and I could update my ROM.
Never had such a hard challenge with my HD2.
Thanks everyone who tried to help!
So after flashing 10/17/15 release of Tesla Arc_Flash I am unable to connect to the phone through adb without deleting the driver and adding it as an adb device. I have installed the LG G3 Verizon drivers but I am still not able to connect. In the device manager it shows that the drivers aren't there but also that they are there as a portable device. hxxp://tinypic.com/r/30ua82f/8
Also the command prompt is below. Brand new adb server started.
hxxp://tinypic.com/r/71myr4/8
Any help would be appreciated. If you need logs or anything else I am happy to provide it. Also since I feel this may get asked... Yes I have USB Debugging turned on. Have tried with Root for adb on and off and nothing seems to work. I can get it to connect through network but I don't want to constantly have to look for the IP address and port. This was also an issue in the previous release of Arc_Flash so please let me know.
Hi! Exactly what drive did you install and where did you get it from? Here is where I get the driver from http://www.lg.com/us/support-mobile/lg-LGVS985. Try rebooting the PC (without the phone connected) after installing the driver. Using the original cable that came with it, connect the phone to a different USB 2.0 port than you had tried previously - it can take up to 10 minutes to finish loading the driver. When it's complete Device Manager should have a listing for the phone in the Modem section, which isn't currently listed in your screenshot. Until you can get that solved you won't be able to reach it with adb.
Have you searched the Tesla ROM thread to see if anyone else has had the issue, in case it's specific to Tesla?

I searched the ROM thread but found nothing matching what I am experiencing but I followed everything even close to it. I installed those drivers just now and restarted both computer and phone. Still comes up as an unknown driver. There is no modem section inside of the computer still. I can manually add the drivers but it still doesn't seem to help.
Also to add. I also have tried to add it as a modem and it gives Windows Error code (10) that it can not start the driver. I forgot to mention. Windows 10.
Well, I've connected to my phone via adb and used the LG flash tools on Windows 10 last week or the week before, although I have my insider updates set to Fast Ring and I kinda regret it because there was a recent huge push of a beta Windows, and they've broken how I had my video associations set up and I can't get my subtitles to work any more either. Sorry for off topic. My point is since Windows 10 is considered a constant "change in progress", and especially for people like me who joined to get "insider" builds, it's hard to tell what makes things not work. My main reason for even being on Windows 10 is to see what they come up with in their insider builds, but I guess when it mucks with my video enjoying ability, I start losing my patience.
I would seriously consider trying a different PC, or if you have the capability of performing a fresh Windows installation, even of Windows 10, that very possibly would fix it. Or if you just recently, within the last 30 days, upgraded from an earlier Windows to Windows 10, and didn't perform a clean installation, you can revert the upgrade through the the Windows settings. No idea if reverting would solve the problem, either, though.
As @bweN diorD pointed out in another similar thread just yesterday or the day before, when someone in your situation ends up trying a different PC, then everything goes smoothly. As far as the cause, there's too many variables.
If you can't use anyone else's PC, there's an outside chance that you could even do it at a library computer, as long as you don't reboot the PC (which I usually recommend after initially installing the driver, but sometimes things work fine without that). Rebooting a library PC usually undoes all changes, putting it back exactly the way it was.
Let us know how you make out.
Hello dear User,
i wanted to connect my redmi note 4 to my computer. I tried various things - nothing solved the Problem. For example i logged into mi account( thought this would work )
Then i tried to update the pc suite mi software. But i just found the Version of 2015. i activated usb-debuggung but it still doesnt work.
I looked into my devices and i see my android phone and at the top different devices a yellow triangle pci communicationcontroller(simple)
I dont exactly know which steps i can do to make connection with my PC possible. I really dont want to bother anyone with my Problem, coz time is valueable, but if there is someone who has the ability to solve my Problem i would really appreciate it much.
Is your device rooted?
Some users face problems in connecting to PC.
You can try different steps below.
*) Check if USB driver is properly installed, if not install relevant one
*) Try changing mode from MTP to photo transfer. It sometimes automatically installs relevant driver.
*) If your phone is rooted and you are facing this problem, there are lot of solutions available over internet. Search for your particular issue.
*) If nothing works, try to use applications that can share data between PC and phone. It's wireless and easy to use
Hi Guys,
I'm unable to connect my v10 to my windows laptop or any other OS or laptop. I always get an error message saying, USB Device not recognized. However, the only thing I can do is Charge my phone with it. :crying:
About the device,
Android Version: 7.0
ROM: Stock
SW Version: V30a-HKG-XX
I've tried almost everything. The following are what I've tried
1. Rebooting the phone and connecting again,
2. Tried on different laptop/computers, with linux and mac too,
3. Replaced the micro usb port,
4. Fiddled with device manager on windows, uninstalled drivers, reinstalled,
5. Tested with different data cables,
6. Tried connecting OTG usb drives,
7. Booting into Fastboot to see if it gets recognized there,
8. Updated from MM to Nougat,
9. Enabled USB Debugging, under dev options,
10. Enabled MTP, under dev options
All of the above did nothing to solve the problem.
I believe the data cables on the microusb port are fine and there maybe something wrong with the motherboard. Please tell me if I'm correct with this inference. if yes, then what may be done to solve this.
Please guys, suggest what maybe wrong and what can be done to fix it. I'd really Love & Hope it if there is a simple fix to it
Thanks.
Same problem here. The problem started just after the upgrade to 7.0 (via ota). I spoke to lg but i have no warranty because my phone was bought on another country. Hope someone can help.

I think it due to charging port. It may be broken/loose
Hello,
I am currently in a dead end with my Poco F1, and would like to check with you before throwing it away.
I was using my Poco in version 12.0.3.0 with TWRP installed and root with Magisk. Due to the last days errors of apps that shut down when opened, I decided to reinstall the system using TWRP, but I made a mistake and installed version 12.0.2.0.
I don't know what installing this version did, but now the mobile isn't starting MIUI anymore, it's starting by default TWRP. Furthermore, something has been changed in the TWRP version installed that touchsreen it's not responding, so I can´t use.
The problem is worse since, for a long time the transfer of files to a PC via USB cable isn't working on my Poco, so Windows is not able to detect the mobile in fastboot mode either. I tryied reinstalling drivres in many ways, and still not working. The poco charges perfectly, so I don't think the problem is the USB conector, maybe is a motherboard related issue, so changing the connector I don't belive will solve the problem
Recap:
- I can't start MIUI (the version has been corrupted).
- I can't use TWRP (it has been corrupted and the touch screen does not work).
- I can't install from fastboot (Windows isn`t detecting the Poco with the cable connected).
- I don't think changing USB connector solve de USB data transfer problem.
Any ideas or should I throw away the smartphone?
For me it's a real pitty, because I don't like the new Poco F3 or others phones on the market, most of them don't have 3.5mm jack or microsd card slot, and are bigger, heavier and more expensive than the Poco F1.
Thanks to everyone.

Hello,
The issue with error of apps was probably due Webview which Google pushed an update and fixed it. For more infos read here.
Now, to the current problem...how did u flashed previous version? Clean installed or Dirty installed?
What Desktop system do you use? AMD or Intel? Your PC can detect the device while you are on TWRP? Do you have twrp.img on ur device so you can reflash it via TWRP?
Check my POCO F1 Ultimate Collection & Guides

Thanks for your answer.
I noticed that the issue with the apps is due to webview after breaking my phone, next time I'll think things twice before flashing anything.
I did a dirty installation, I thought I was installing same version (12.0.3.0), but I was flashing 12.0.2.0 on top of 12.0.3.0 without cleaning.
I tried both desktop systems: my laptop with an Intel CPU, and a PC with AMD Ryzen 9 3900X. I also tried 5 diferent USB-C cables that are working perfectly with others Android devices. When I look for new devices in the device manager of windows I can't tell any diference on listed devices with or without connecting the Poco. As I said, maybe I have some hardware issue in the phone, because file transfer was not working for many months.
I can't install anything via TWRP because touchscreen don`t respond to mi fingers... I remerber that this happend to me years ago when I installed a wrong TWRP version, but don't know if that is the problem.

Well, somehow you need to manage to flash MIUI again via TWRP or Mi Flash Tool.
Perhaps if you redownload latest twrp.img and latest official miui 12.0.3.0 and transfer them to USB OTG or external SD Card and then put ur OTG or external SD Card to your phone and flash it from TWRP. Since you was able to wipe system as u said before you will be able to flash twrp.img into "Recovery" make Clean Install (according my guide) and flash MIUI.
I'll try if connecting something via OTG make the phone responds, but the main problem with TWRP is that appears to be corrupted or something. I cann't use it because touchscreen don't responds to me, and nothing happens either if I try to use it with volume+ and volume- buttons, I see TWRP but I can`t interact with it.
Thanks again for your patience.

I tried using OTG cable in TWRP and nothing hapens, TWRP don't respond.
Seems that I'm in a dead end, I ordered an USB PCB spare part to try if is posible to repair the USB data transfer connection replacing it, becuase looks like is the only way I have of flashing a new clean rom.

If you have AMD system try the AMD Fix in my guide. Also try this guide to install drivers.
Finally I could solve the problem.
I bought a new part of the USB port PCB from aliexpress, I ordered one that claims to be original for around 15€, not the 2€ ones.
I replaced it and the data transfer is working again, so I could install the ROM via fastboot from my PC.
I don't beleive that the PCB I replaced is original, but works like it is, phone charges properly and seems that didn't loose signal.
Thanks to everyone.
