I'm on stock MIUI 10.1.3.0 Stable and recently all of stock MIUI app are crashing. I searched for a solution and got to know it can happen because of corrupt cache so i tried to wipe cache from recovery but there is only one option "Wipe Data".
I don't want to loose any my data
Can someone help?

You can unlock your bootloader and install a custom recovery (TWRP for example) wich provide an option to wipe Dalvik Cache only (and not everything). If it still isn't working you can try dirty flashing /system to fix it.

You need a custom recovery to flash it. There was a way to flash TWRP without unlocking (but I can't find it anymore) and I don't recommend doing it since it's a bad idea to do things like that without a way to fix if you do things wrong. I really recommend you to unlock it since it doesn't cost anything and doesn't void your warranty and after flashing twrp you can flash the stock recovery back (to get OTA, etc) and even relock the bootloader.
Or can you still acces the systemUpdate zone ? If yes you can click on the three dots on the right-up corner and click on download update and click update once it's downloaded. It will not erase anything but it will "reflash" partitions like system and also wipe cache.
EDIT : Actually I don't think you need to go into recovery mode. Erasing the app data in settings -> apps or systemApps -> [appName] -> storage -> clear cache/clear all data
Download MIUI again and install it. Do it from System Update.

Unlocking bootloader will erase your app data either way. No additional steps are needed.

I tried flashing update zip from system update
But after update. Still apps are crashing
What about Storage ----> Cleaner. I don't have this issue myself. You've got this phone for few days, i would format it.

helo buddies!!
i am using RN3 snapdragon version.
i unlocked bootloader and installed TWRP and flashed CM13
after rebooting , i observed it was unstable, so i did "factory reset in twrp".
thats what created everything..then there was no OS to reboot!! somehow
i installed AOSP ROM and rebooted it, But soon after rebooting within minutes storage space is going to kilobytes!!!
i rebooted many times and there was no change.
everytime after wiping cache and data in twrp, storage space is reaching to 25gb and in minutes it is falling to kilobytes.
should i repair system storage to FAT ?
help me

Some images would be very nice. Plus give some more detailed description as to what is happening. What do you see in twrp, device etc.
First of all, clean flash a miui rom via miflash and select format data and storage....
After you're done, check if the problem persist and unlock your bootloader again....

Your data partition seems to be fine in twrp. Try some partition info apps to check whether its system problem or something else.
But i can tell you, your partition table is fine. If you can try flashing a fastboot rom via miflash in edl mode.
I have encountered this problem last week, what I did was by formatting /data via TWRP (the one which including internal storage) and it gets fixed!

What he suggested will delete the lockscreen password/passcode etc so you can boot the phone without any prompts. You do this within TWRP.

oh in that case, should I have to factory reset everytime I flash a rom through my TWRP? I use ZCX TWRP, so Lazy flasher is not required after rom flashing right?
you just need it once . to decrypt your storage

In the information about the ZCX TWRP I found below:
ZCX TWRP : http://forum.xda-developers.com/redm...persu-t3462448
- Based on official TWRP 3.0.2-0
- Patches boot.img automatically (Removes dm-verity flag)
- Disables forced encryption
Should I have to tweak anything in TWRP settings to remove this dm-verify flag everytime?

Are you coming from MIUI? If so then MIUI encrypts the data partition, hence the new ROM asking for a password.
Before you install the ROM, you must "format data" on wipe in TWRP, this is different from wipe data.
Note that this will delete all your data obviously.

Wipe data doesn't remove the encryption.

Its not a hard brick, its a soft brick.
You need to download the original firmware file and flashed with Odin.
Try this
Download the correct firmware for your phone
Go to sammoble for firware
Download Odin for Samsung
Make sure phone is at least 50 percent charged
Put phone into download mode
But is it normal that oem unlock not blue? So there stands only that its already unlocked..
So THANKS to you!!!

yes, Its normal.
When you unlock it ( became blue ) then your boot loader is unlock and you can flash custom recover and custom rom as well.
But why i had the problem that twrp can't mount system? Do i have to unlock oem after flash, too? But at the first time, twrp was able to mount it... ?

Flash recovery.
Wipe data and internal storage
Then flash custom rom
So now whe n i flash twrp, twrp isn't abel to mount all data (system, data, and so on)
Tough luck my friend, shouldn't have rooted your phone and why did you, root isn't needed anymore, 2 or 3 years ago maybe but not now. Maybe contact Samsung and tell them what's happened lol.

because twrp cannot decrypt Samsung's data, the only way it can is doing a format data, that means deleting everything to be able to write and mount data afterwards because the new data will be uncrypted, reason why before playing with root and twrp you need to backup all your stuff, once it is gone, there is no way back. So read a lot before playing with phones and their OS

well, now you mention you had a backup, did you check the day the backup was made, that it was successfull? I guess, maybe the data partition is still good? so you could get your stuff back
I had once a twrp back that fail to restore 3 times, but at the 4th it went through ok.

My RN3 is still running MIUI 8.2.4.0. It has unlocked bootloader and TWRP installed. However it is not rooted.
I cannot get any OTA because of the TWRP that I have installed someone cause the OTA not to work.
I would like to now upgrade to latest MIUI which is 9.2.x.x. Can anyone advice what is the best way to do this WITHOUT losing data? Or perhaps if phone much be wiped, what is the best way to backup/restore?
Thanks.

When u update the same rom then u dont need to wipe the data. Just dirty flash without wipe command.
But if u switching from miui global to xiaomi miui eu rom then u must use format data and then wipe data reset. And don't restore backup. Else u will experience crashes and bugs. Apps can be redownloaded from playstore.
Clean flash is always recommend when changing roms.

Miflash for fastboot roms. Twrp for custom roms or xiaomi eu.
Sorry for asking so many questions. I just wanted to make sure I don't brick the phone.
If I use MiFlash, will it override the TWRP that I have already installed on the phone? Will it be okay to flash using MiFlash when TWRP is already installed?

I got same issue, can't set fp,,only face unlock works perfectly
also latest global rom won't allow installing twrp. need to flash older version of official miui rom to get recovery
Easy fix to fingerprint issue in Newer Xiaomi EU ROMs
This is how I got rid of this fingerprint problem.
1. First you need to flash Orangefox recovery for redmi 5 ( any custom recovery like twrp would work but I recommend Orangefox since I know it will work )
2. Then after entering recovery, click reboot then click recovery. If it don't reboot to recovery use the power button + volume up combo to re-enter recovery.
3. Go to wipe section and click format data. Type yes then enter.
4.Again reboot to recovery.
5. Wipe everything except internal storage and sdcard.
6. Reboot to recovery.
7. Flash xiaomi EU ROM v8.9.6 for redmi 5. Wait for flashing. Click wipe cache. No need to wipe data or anything.
8. Reboot system.
9. Complete the setup and add fingerprint.
10. Reboot to recovery and install any xiaomi EU ROM you want. But don't ever wipe data. Wiping data will wipe fingerprint data and you will get fingerprint error
11. Don't do anything extra just reboot system. Booting will take some time than usual. Its just for first time. Enjoy your new ROM with fingerprint and face lock and without bloat. :fingers-crossed:

Reboot recovery and flash the desired EU ROM without wiping anything. Just reboot system.
