Mate 20 Pro - Downgrade Android 9.0 to Android 8.X - Possible ? - Huawei Mate 20 Pro Questions & Answers

Hi,
I would like to know if ti possible to downgrade my firmware mate 20 pro to android 8.XX, cause i would like to install xposed. I search on funky huwaei but no resultThx

No.
The lowest you can get is the version that the phone was shipped with.
The device was shipped with Android P (9.0) and therefore there's no chance that you'll get a working version of Oreo (8.0).

Why would you want to do something like that to start with

Depends on what you're doing and on what.
Going "back" to Windows 7 from Windows 8 was for me a very sensible upgrade

Mmmm no seems fine to me. Windows 8 came with a lot of compatibility problems especially with games etc. Shouldn't have to mention the disaster vista was.

These n00bs are spoiled these days
This will never happen due to hardware incompabilities. Wp only supports Qualcomm chips and there is no dualcore compatibility.
You can use launcher7 or go buy a native windows phone or hd2.
Sent from my GT-I9100
download windows 7 launcher from market.
.....chill
Sorry to re-open this thread after such a long time; I'm just wondering (before I completely brick my phone) what would happen if I attempted putting a wp7 ROM on it, and if I could reverse it if (probably when) it doesn't work?
One word.
Don't. (that was three words (15 if you include this blurb), but, anyhoo).

[Q] I want Windows 8 on my Max

Has anyone ran Windows 8 (Windows phone) on an Android? I know HTC has a Windows phone. The reason I ask is because I would like to try Windows and be able to use Cortana, and if I don't like it, I can revert back to sweet a$$ ROMS from here. Thanx
Dude... Windows phone isn't just a rom... Simple answer... No never. They aren't even close to being the same. Try one most carriers will offer 30 day money back offers an I believe T-MObile has a trial thing going on as well...

I know Windows isn't just a rom, Verizon has the HTC m8 as a windows phone so I thought maybe the one max could run it also. I was hoping since you could run Windows or Linux on the same machine that maybe the phones would also be able to dual boot. I thought I seen someone dual boot Windows and Android on a tablet on youtube awhile ago. So you are 100% certain there is no way to dual boot or run Windows on an Android device? I want to be for sure. Thanx for your reply.

Android auto

Hello
I m very interested by mate 20 pro . Is anyone can test android auto please ?
I'll let you know as have pre-ordered this beauty for Friday ?
Android auto is working fine for Spotify and for Google Maps - however the Dialler doesnt work and in my Audi, when a call comes through it makes the MMI screen turn Black and I have to disconnect the phone to get Android Auto to come back up.
Robert
Same issue here in my Ford with the Mate 20 Pro. Tried using Google phone app instead of Huawei dialler as others had suggested for issues with P20 pro in the past but the issue still persists.

I've tried third party dialers too with no luck, I then hoped today's update would fix it but no such luck lol
Wondering also...

Anyone comment as I urgently need decides between Note 9 and this cheap phone china made.
What's cheap about the Mate 20 Pro (apart from maybe EMUI?)

I had the note 9, and I feel the mate 20 pro is miles ahead. Yes there is some issues but I'm confident that Huawei will fix these and hopefully fairly quick. I returned the note 9 to Vodafone after 3 days as was extremely disappointed

Same issue here
I'm experiencing exactly the same in my VW Golf - have moved to Mate20 Pro after being long time Apple user. This is really frustrating - I wish I'd found out about it before buying.
I think it is something to do with the fact the default dialer is not compatible. I couldn't install the google dialer and set to default (which I think would fix it).

Already tried this unfortunately and it didnt fix the issue.
I recommend bringing this to Huawei's attention it'll be a case of the more people make a fuss the more likely they are to address it I know it took them some 2 years to support Android Auto at all on their phones.
I talked to UK live chat and reported a bug. They wrote it up and assigned it to development. Which was really nice to hear.

Thats great, but how old is Android Auto? And they are charging top dollar for this phone. Very disappointing.

Where did you get the live chat?
From the HiCare application.
Tried mine today, in vw passat had no issues making a call at all. Maps and Spotify also worked fine. I did have to swop to a higher quality shorter cable as it disconnected after 30 seconds but with new cable no issues here.

Did anyone find another rom for the Chinese version?

My Find X is back in it's box now.
I am going to keep it as a backup phone.
But I wonder if there has been any development in a better rom?
Nothing.. Absoluty Nothing. This is incroyable. I don't know why there is no rom like other Phone. Cyanogen for example..

Oppo locked more than just the bootloader.
If you try to change the boot.img the phone won't boot at all.

May I ask why you use 2 phones? I was considering Find X but decided Oneplus 7 Pro is the better option.

I also have a OnePlus 7 pro 256gb.
I have kept the Find X because second hand prices are to low to sell.
So I'll keep it as a back up in the hope that someone makes a rom and unlocks everything on the phone.

Wishful thinking mate.
When I heard of this phone I was super excited then I got it and I was super disappointed within days.
Is a good phone if you are trying to reduce phone usage.

Literally bricked my device. The radio won't connect to mobile network. It freaks out and starts rebooting and bootlooping until it says data is corrupt. Even after factory reset, same results. And I'm a dumba$s and side loaded the ota with a locked bootloader (I'm on TMobile). So I can't side load any other ota bc they're older than this developer image. What a nightmare
Flashed it like 3 hours ago, everything seems normal.
TBH I can barely notice any change between this, 12L and 12, looks all the same to me lol
interesting
Very interesting. 8 know 12 L is for.foldables and tablets but should I put it on my pixel 6? Is there any advantages over 12?
my pixel 6 works better with 12L , that's why I haven't installed 13 yet
The Samsung browser app was closing when my wifi disconnected. In the settings wifi area it said ap was full that's strange. I clicked connect again and it connected and Sammy browser stopped closing and loaded my link. Also xda app takes 4 seconds for the chat box to open. I have only been using a 13 for the day on my pixel 6. Speed feels the same just quick as usual with everything else but xdas chat box

Same with my 6 pro. Except mine says factory resest restarting. Guess we're waiting to see if they do a bug fix update or just go right to DP2 before we get a fix. Hope you have a backup device you can use until then.

Same issue here on my P6 (non pro). Tried reapplying the OTA with no change. Guess it’s bricked till the next update but that’s the risk we take with these dev builds!
(Off topic: can carriers stop locking bootloaders already? Lol)

I did too but i knew it wasn't going to work, but had nothing to lose. Can't use the factory image either. I knew if something like this happened there was no way to fix it with a locked bootloader until the next update. So it is on me, never had this happen but luck finally ran out on me this time. Will just have to wait for a bug fix update or DP2.
LOL I have been doing this long enough to remember when unlocking the bootloader was a warranty violation.
