The poco F1 has a notch issue. At first PUBG Mobile would be shown in full screen mode. The not h would cut through a piece of the image, however this allowed screen recordings to be full screen also. After the last miui10 update full screen has been disabled for pubg. Now the notch doesn't cut through the image however the black bar that is shows where the notch is supposed be to be, remains in all screen recordings. For me this is worse than having the notch cut through the image as it makes screen recordings look sub-par. Is there any fix for this issue?
It's in custom rooms also. The worst part is there is and option to move the buttons so that the notch is accommodated and the game can take the full screen. But even if you enable you still get a straight line near the notch.

While casting screen to my smart TV using the default options there is a blank space to the left which I assume is due to the notch area.it does not go even when notch is disabled.it feels very irritating please suggest a solution.
I'm noticing quite a lot of screen bleed and color shift in my Poco F1 from the last few days. I have owned this device for more than a month now and earlier there was nothing but now after the new chrome update I see color shift on both sides but not like complete screen. Some bottom portion and the chin doesn't have color shift and in the Snapchat app when we click the profile icon, in that screen there is color shift in similar way but in that the top part excluding the notch area doesn't have color shift. I'll add photos later as I don't have other phone to take pictures.
Can anyone confirm the same thing ??
Should I go to service center ??
So i just got the official update today and i just updated my poco f1 to 10.2.2.0 and here's my short review. Do read this if you wanna consider to update or not.
1. The new slow mo 960fps has flickering issues so its literally impossible to use. Or is it only me?
2. Theres a new option at the top screen "Cleaner - Security scan - Deep clean - Manage apps" in recent apps screen which imo, makes it look less minimalistic and ugly.
3. Battery? So far so good. Havent tested it in pubg yet or full day use yet so i cant give my full opinion yet. I'll update this after this 3 days.
4. Theres a new options in Notification & Status bar in settings>Show icons for incoming notifications. Which basically will show your notification icons on the left status bar then after 2 seconds it goes back to showing the clock which is dumb. Why dont they just give us the options to show notification icons permanently instead of clock.
5. The hide notch option in settings is still gone.
6. Theres a new Night mode in camera, but really, they dont work as well as pixel 3 night mode. When you take a pic using night mode in completely darkness, the pic result will be completely dark, unlike the pixel 3. So dont hope too much on the night mode on miui camera.
Thats all so far my review. Will udpate this thread if i found anything new. Please share your review as well.
Hello,
regarding (1): are you in sunlight or in artificial light?
960 fps is way higher than the power line frequency (50 Hz, 60 if you are in the US) so if you shot in artificial light you are basically getting flicker from your lamp.
In direct sunlight you should have no flickering at all.

Nope. Still no difference.
I also only notice flicker in artificial light. Moreover, the flicker is much less noticeable in the actual video than it is on the screen while recording.
The recently open apps or any app with light grey or black background show in the other app, Like it I open chrome of some times then I close chrome now I'm in now youtube app I can find everything in YouTube app it the screen color turn into grey or I try to find it I can notice it. After 10-15 min it disappears. There is no screen bleeding issue on my phone. I can literally see my WhatsApp in the background while going through the play store.
I can't attach a screenshot because the shadow effect is not visible in the screenshot. any screen with dark color works fine.
miui 11.05 the problem appears. After Sometime the problem is gone... I gave my poco to the service center after he flashed it the problem is coming. I am not sure if they changed my screen because it was working fine for miui 10 as well as with Miui 11 also.
I raised a complaint in Mi they say they need to change the screen and it will cost around INR 7000(100$). That's quite a lot.
If anyone has a solution to this problem then please help me in that. :crying:
You are not the only one my friend.
Just around the past 20 days I've seen what resembles "Screen Burn In". The image of the previous app remains as a "ghost" in the background. This is especially visible if you play a game like PUBG or CoD Mobile and then you switch to an app which has white background. Normally this issue is seen only on OLED but oddly enough it's showing on Poco which is LCD.
Thankfully though, the ghosting effect disappears after a while. If it does not disappear, you can use any app that can cycle the RGB colors. It is not a permanent fix.
Poco cut corners especially with the display. Issues from rejected touch to ghost touch to now this image retention problem.

i didn't have that problem it just starts occurring after i gave it to the service center
I have same issue.. specifically after high brightness...
That's a hardware issue and should have been replaced while in warranty. I have Pocophone F1 for over a year now (bought November 2018) but didn't have any issue. My usage is splitscreen with youtube at the top and any app at the bottom, screen is ON most of the time during my 8 hrs of work time with max continuous screen ON of 4 to 6 hours with brightness level averaging at around 60% using Auto. NO ghosting, image retention that happened on mine. Your IPS display is probably defective.
Hello. I have a question regarding the display of dark grey at low brightness. Noticed this using the google web page in dark mode before going to sleep with all other lights dimmed or off.
I also noticed some burnt in segments of the screen like nav bar and status bar at the conditions described above.
I am attaching the dark grey filled image I use to distinguish the problem. Can you please test it with your S21 in dark conditions and fullscreen and tell me if you see same noise and smudge-like artifacts?
I must say I tried to go to BestBuy and Target to compare it to other S21 by myself, but obviously it didn't work because there are too many light sources in the store and it's too bright to see that.
I also tried to make a photo of what I am seeing in completely dark room, but obviously it's less informative compared to human eye.
Thank you.

Maybe I am not very discerning but screenshot_* shows no anomalies on my S21. The file_000 however does have a visual imperfection. It's the file itself and not the screen because the "smudgy" area moves as I scroll and grows when I zoom. So it's an artifact of the file. It does have some subtle grey coloring.

The File_000 has anomalies because it's a photo of a screen producing artifacts, when the Screenshot is just filled grey and should be clean of any artifacts on a healthy screen. I must say when I open the Screenshot using gallery and in fullscreen, and try to move it left or right until previous or next image border shows in the gallery, I can see the artifacts and smudges remain static because it's screen defect but the image (screenshot) is clear of any imperfections. Thank you for trying though.
It is normal since a few years, Xiaomi since the Mi 8 and has it Oneplus since the 8 series and now Samsung.
It has something to do with the newer generation panels.
